AN alleged hitman accused of killing Scots gangsters Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr in Spain won't face an extradition hearing until November - five months after his arrest.
Michael Riley, 44, is charged with the murders of the underworld figures at Monaghan's Bar in Fuengirola, Costa del Sol, on May 31.

Authorities in Spain want him sent there to face criminal proceedings.
Riley, of Huyton, Liverpool, was arrested by Merseyside police on June 13 under an international arrest warrant issued by the Spanish authorities.
His extradition hearing was due to take place on October 9 at Westminster Magistrates Court, but it will now be heard on November 20.
Riley was not on a video link from Wandsworth Prison for the hearing.
Judge Timothy King said: "I am prepared to vacate the hearing.
"I make directions for the extradition hearing to be heard on 20 November.
'The next call over date will be on 15 August. Hopefully Mr Riley will have been produced via video link.'
Monaghan, 43, and Lyons Jnr, 46, were key Lyons crime gang members.
Malaga-based Spanish police chief Pedro Agudo Novo has described Riley as a member of the rival Glasgow-based Daniels gang.
Bizarrely, Police Scotland have denied a link between the 30-year feud and the murders.
'Godfather' Eddie Lyons Snr bids farewell to gunned down son & kingpin pal at double gang funeral
The victims - who were laid to rest in a joint funeral earlier this month - were watching the Champions League final with friends when they were gunned down at the bar on the beachfront.
Lyons Jnr died after he was hit by a single bullet outside the bar in front of horrified drinkers.
CCTV showed the gunman pursuing Monaghan inside the pub before shooting him dead.
Riley remains in custody.

Bibby Stockholm asylum seeker's chilling words before sexually assaulting teenage girl

Moffat Konofilia, who travelled 10,000 miles from the Solomon Islands, tried to kiss the terrified 17-year-old as she sat on Weymouth seafront in Dorset. The girl said Konofilia commented on the colour of her skin and said he had 'never been this close to a white woman' which made her feel uncomfortable. She began secretly recording their conversation and was heard saying 'no, no' as Konofilia tried to kiss her on the mouth before apologising. The victim left to walk home and Konofilia tried to follow her but she managed to lose him down an alleyway. After the sexual assault the girl called a friend crying and asked them to meet her. She reported the incident to police the next day. The migrant, who had played for Solomon Islands national team, said he had taken the bus into the Dorset seaside town and bought beers to drink on the beach 'as he often did'. When interviewed by police he said the girl told him she was 18 and that he wanted to help her. He claimed he had not kissed her but had put an arm around her to comfort her and she had pulled away. He denied kissing her or following her when she left. Konofilia was found guilty of one count of sexual assault by magistrates in Poole. He now lives at Quadrant Hall in Coventry, a former university halls that was converted to house 100 asylum seekers. Although he speaks English, he said his first language is Pijin, a common language in the Solomon Islands. At a previous court hearing he said he had two interviews for his asylum claim which depended on the outcome of this case. The Solomon Islands are the seventh furthest country from the UK and there are currently no specific visas for Solomon Islanders to enter the UK to seek asylum. Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea are the primary destinations for asylum seekers from the Solomon Islands.

Dad who reported daughter missing on vacation busted when her body found in pond

A father who reported his nine-year-old daughter missing while they were on a vacation together has been arrested after her body was discovered in a pond. Luciano Frattolin, 45, of Montreal was traveling with his daughter, Melina Frattolin, in upstate New York since July 11 and they were expected back in Canada this past weekend. Frattolin described Melina as 'the light of his life', 'beautiful', and his 'inspiration' in a post on the website of Montreal-based Gambella Coffee, which he founded. He had also called himself a 'loving father' on his Instagram profile. On Saturday night, Frattolin called 911 and claimed that his daughter vanished after he stepped out from a wooded area at a parking lot. Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the public's help in searching for Melina. However, officials found inconsistencies in Frattolin's accounts. 'During a subsequent interview, he then reports two unknown males forced her into a white van,' stated New York State Police Captain Robert McConnell. 'That lead was thoroughly investigated and disproven.' CCTV footage recovered from Saratoga Springs, another resort town close to Lake George, captured the dad and daughter there around 5.30pm on Saturday. Melina talked with her mother, whom she lived with in Montreal, on the phone about an hour later and did not sound distressed, according to police. Tragically, forest rangers found Melina's body in the shallow section of a pond in Ticonderoga, which is roughly 30 miles north of Lake George, on Sunday afternoon. Her father is believed to have murdered her after she spoke with her mum, and then called 911, police said. Frattolin was taken into custody and brought into Essex County Jail shortly after 2am on Monday. He has been charged with second-degree murder and unlawfully disposing of a corpse. A not guilty was entered for him during his arraignment on Monday, Ticonderoga Town Court officials said. He has been assigned a public defender. Frattolin did not have a criminal record or reported instances of domestic violence. More Trending Melina's mother distanced herself from Frattolin in 2019. Frattolin in his bio on his company site mentioned an 'unfortunate event that severely affected his well-being in 2019'. 'Melina has also taught Luciano to let go of his rigid tendencies to keep everything in 'perfect order,'' his bio reads. 'His love for Melina's messy art projects and chaotic ensemble of toys supersedes his love for a meticulously spotless home.' A motive for the killing has not been determined. We're convinced it's blood coming from suitcase – what caller told 999 operator

Yostin Andres Mosquera, 35, killed civil partners Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, on July 8 last year in their flat in Scotts Road, Shepherd's Bush, west London. Mosquera, who was also staying with the couple, 'decapitated and dismembered' them, froze parts of their remains and brought the rest in suitcases to Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, the prosecution said. A jury at Woolwich Crown Court found Mosquera guilty of murdering the men on Monday. An artist's impression of the killer, Yostin Andres Mosquera, right (Elizabeth Cook/PA) Avon and Somerset Police were called to the Bristol landmark just before midnight on July 10 last year, after bridge staff became suspicious. They had been dealing with a woman in crisis when they saw Mosquera with two heavy suitcases on the Leigh Woods side of the bridge. Mosquera told them the large suitcases, one red and one silver, contained car parts and that the liquid dripping from them was oil. A cyclist challenged Mosquera about the suitcases and bravely chased after the double killer as he fled down a hill – filming him on his phone. The 999 call made to police has been released in which the caller says 'we're convinced it's blood' about the case and Mosquera 'didn't want to open the case'. The caller first says, 'we're going to need police up here quite urgently, I think'. He says they had a man who was 'dragging a case behind him' and he did not speak English, so a man on a bike came along to help as he could speak Spanish. The caller said Mosquera told them the suitcase contained car parts. He added: 'It's really heavy, and there's blood coming out of it. It looks like there's blood coming out of the case. 'He then said there were two cases, so he went up the road to get the second case. 'The guy on the bike who's just a member of the public, followed him. The guy has now run off.' The caller said of the case: 'It looks like blood to us, without smashing the case open, we're not really going to know, and that's obviously for you, but it's just, it's, it's blood. We're, yeah, we're convinced it's blood.' He said they, 'did sort of like suggest to him, do you want to open a case? Tell us what's in it', and he 'didn't want to open the case', adding that he 'sat on the case at one stage'. The caller gave emergency services a description of Mosquera. Police officers attended the bridge and had to open the suitcases, which contained the torsos and limbs of the victims, Mr Alfonso and Mr Longworth.
