Singleton stable set for Lovely trip away to Narromine
And punters have seemingly been given a decisive leg-up from the Scott Singleton stable, with front-running Too Darn Lovely by-passing a home meeting on the same day to zero in on a weaker target in the central west.
Dropping back from a higher-graded race at Muswellbrook over 1000m three weeks ago when she faded after leading, Too Darn Lovely reloads in a Benchmark 58 Handicap over the 800m scamper course on a tighter and more advantageous track for on-speed sprinters.
The start before in a better BM 58 at Quirindi (1000m), Too Darn Lovely ran a quick time in beating a handy sprint field. She again draws to control the race under regular apprentice Leeshelle Small, and back on her preferred firmer ground, looks set to take her strike rate to five wins from 14 starts.
A speedy daughter of fashionable sire Too Darn Hot, Too Darn Lovely could be aimed at a more challenging provincial sprint, or even a Saturday Highway if she takes care of this moderate field.
While Singleton has accepted for seven runners at the Scone meeting, Thor's Lightning, second-up in a Maiden Plate over 1300m, is his only other runner at Narromine.
The meeting, though, is set to be dominated by Dubbo stables.

The Clint Lundholm yard, among its better chances, will run exciting debutant filly Miss Rapide in a Maiden Plate over 800m, along with resuming My Boy Scout in a Maiden Handicap (1100m), and promising filly Matilda Of Tuscany shooting for back-to-back wins after a dominant Maiden breakthrough at Warren.

She took on a tougher grade at Caulfield last Saturday when running fifth of five, beaten just under seven lengths. Brisbourne has two other runners set to go around with apprentice Alice Kennedy set to partner Jappalouis in the Smallmon Brothers Waste & Recycling Maiden Plate (1000m) and Antisocial in the JRC Electrical Services Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000m). Jappalouis is having his first start for Brisbourne, having previously been trained by Cody Morgan. The seven-year-old hasn't raced since January 2022.

Debutants set to dazzle in Wyong season finale
It's a day for an exciting new breed when Wyong hosts a strong meeting on Thursday to close out the current season. A group of late season unraced metropolitan two-year-olds lock horns in a Maiden Handicap over 1300m, and it might just provide an early pointer for some feature three-year-old targets heading towards spring. In fact, only two runners with race experience in the original 13-strong field – Menshevik and Watson, both quoted around the $6.50 mark in early betting – are in single figures for what looms as a fascinating race. And two debutants look set to fight for favouritism in a race where punters could support many on show. Impuriteze, a striking chestnut filly by multiple Group 1 winner Trapeze Artist, looms as a key runner for the Michael Freedman stable at Randwick. She starts behind two progressive trials on both firm and soft ground, and draws to get an economical run under jockey Keagan Latham who sticks solid from the latest trial. But right alongside her in the market is exciting colt Extra Heights, a son of high-class sprint sire Extreme Choice in the rival Peter Snowden yard. He also opens his career behind two progressive trials, and significantly was withdrawn from a race at Canterbury on Wednesday to be saved for this.
