Millenials Try Each Other's Trader Joe Meals

Buzz Feed14-04-2025
As a fellow millenial, I adore a Trader Joe's. The affordable organic food, the refreshing drinks, and the best store-brand frozen food and snacks one can buy! It was only fitting that we filmed a Trader Joe's taste video.
Did I mention affordable?
"Trader Joe Hoe" is an extremely fitting description.
MaryLanae is the first plate. She's made beef sirloin and hand mashed garlic potatoes. Seasoning is absolutely there, too!
Let's see what the other cooks think of her grand meal.
Dimitri peeped the hand-mash immediately. That's a foodie right there.

The gang loved the seasoning and the SNAP of the green beans. MaryLanae walks away with a solid score of 15.
Moving onto our next cook, we have Dimitri and his poppin' cashew chicken fried rice with Trader Joe's veggie rice.
He's thrown in some frozen Asian veggies and green dragon hot sauce on the side. It's giving Asian-Latin fusion. Especially with that sriracha and hoisin sauce.
Dimitri has paired the dish with one of his favorite Italian grapefruit sodas (alcohol-optional).
What do the other cooks have to say about Dimitri's meal?
BuzzFeed / Via youtube.com
First impressions include "Great Gatsby" and FROZEN. Oh, and dry. But the sauce kinda saves it.
Unfortunately, Dimitri's meal got a low score of 11.2, but he gave it his best shot and that's all that matters.
The last cook up to bat is Kuree. She's made birria ramen. Not exactly sure that is, but the internet does!
BuzzFeed / Via youtube.com
She's added some beef broth to make it more like a soup. Shout out to those knife noodles—we respect the dedication.
Dimitri is feeling the meal, but MaryLanae isn't loving the noodles...or the whole thing actually.
BuzzFeed / Via youtube.com
But it doesn't matter because Kuree has earned all the bragging rights—she's walked away with 16.5, the highest score today!

Darren Criss returning to Broadway's ‘Maybe Happy Ending' after casting backlash

Maybe it is a happy ending for this Broadway musical after all. 'Maybe Happy Ending' writers Will Aronson and Hue Park have announced that the show's original star, Darren Criss, will return to the lead robot role of Oliver this fall. 'This Model 3 is anything but retired,' the Tony-winning musical posted via Instagram on Wednesday. 'Darren Criss returns to Maybe Happy Ending on Broadway as Oliver beginning November 5th.' Getty Images The news that Criss, 38, will return to 'Maybe Happy Ending' comes after the show's creators faced serious backlash for recasting the half-Filipino actor with Andrew Barth Feldman, who is not of Asian descent, last month. Advertisement Although Broadway insiders tell The Post that Criss was always scheduled to take a two-month leave of absence from the musical, and that Feldman was only cast to fill in for Criss for a nine-week limited engagement, there was still public outcry about the decision. Feldman is also married to Helen J. Shen, who plays the female lead Claire in 'Maybe Happy Ending.' 10 Helen J. Bruce Giikas/WireImage Advertisement Playwright and actor BD Wong penned an open letter criticizing Aronson and Park's choice to temporarily replace Criss with a non-Asian actor, and the lengthy essay garnered more than 2,400 signatures. 'This deserves attention,' the 'M. Butterfly' star charged. 'To put it simply: Asian Actors and the Asian Theatergoing Community are fiercely wrestling over a non-Asian actor replacing the Asian male lead in the Broadway musical 'Maybe Happy Ending.'' 'Please google this responsibly,' Wong added. 'It's a real, eternal outcry about race and representation, not an irrational rant about robots.' 10 BD Wong attends 'Call Me Izzy' Broadway opening night at Studio 54 in New York City on June 12, 2025. Getty Images Advertisement Aronson and Park, who later responded to the backlash on Instagram, said that they were 'extremely saddened' that their show 'could ever become a source of confusion, anger or pain.' 'We would like to share some thoughts on the collective casting decision of Andrew Barth Feldman in Maybe Happy Ending,' the pair began. 'Our dream at the outset was that our allegorical robot show could one day miraculously become part of the American musical theater canon – a modern Fantasticks, able to be comfortably performed by anyone, anywhere – yet distinctly set in Korea,' they added. 'This went against prevailing wisdom that we needed to set our show in America.' 10 Darren Criss attends Macy's 4th of July fireworks at the Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City on July 4, 2025. But while countless Broadway fans were happy to learn that Criss will return to 'Maybe Happy Ending' later this year, some questioned whether it was only because of the ongoing casting backlash. 'So like… was this the plan all along?' one person asked. Advertisement 10 Darren Criss as Oliver in 'Maybe Happy Ending.' Adams Morgan's Johnny Pistolas Flips Into New Latin Venture This Fall

Johnny Pistolas, Adams Morgan's fixture for tacos and tequila since 2014, transforms this fall into a Latin gastro pub (Mi Pana) with a speakeasy-style cocktail bar (Riff Raff Room). The two-part newcomer, opening Friday, September 19, comes from hospitality veteran and operations specialist Jeff Diaz and award-winning bartender Jon Scotts. Billed as a 'modern Latin-fusion concept with a cozy, elevated atmosphere,' Mi Pana's menu will feature a mix of Venezuelan, Cuban, and Puerto Rican fusion dishes served from happy hour through late-night. The mezzanine level will be reimagined as the Riff Raff Room, an intimate cocktail and tapas lounge managed by Schott, who was just named one of America's top 10 bartenders at the USBG World Class nationals. The beverage vet, who previously stirred drinks at Old Town cocktail bars like The People's Drug and King's Ransom, debuted his Riff Raff Drink Company during the pandemic (hence the new AdMo bar's name). The top floor will remain a dedicated party and event space, and Johnny Pistolas will remain open to the public throughout the renovation. Opening night festivities include live entertainment and a Champagne toast (2333 18th Street NW).
