The father of the girlfriend of the Scottish gangster orchestrating the ongoing gangland feud across Edinburgh and the west has had is taxi firebombed.
George Newall's black cab was torched outside the family home on Wednesday, May 28, leaving it extensively damaged, reports The Daily Record.
His daughter, Olivia Newall, is the girlfriend of Ross 'Miami' McGill and has moved to Dubai where he now lives.
McGill is believed to be the central figure behind the gangland war which has torn through Scotland in recent months.
The incident occurred on Glasgow's Kingswood Drive in the city's Kings Park district.
One local said: 'We could not believe it. It is a very quiet area around here and then this happens.
'George is a lovely man. Hard-working. Honest and just trying to make a living.
'He does not need this hassle on his own doorstep.'

It is understood that nobody was injured in the incident, and police are continuing to investigate.
Ms Newall is the cousin of a man called Lloyd Cross who last year was jailed for his part in a £100million cocaine-smuggling plot.
It was masterminded by Jamie 'the Iceman' Stevenson, once dubbed 'Scotland's most wanted man.'
Cross was given a six-year sentence after pleading guilty to serious organised crime and drug offences.
The 32-year-old is a close friend of McGill's having grown up less than a mile away from each other.
Their friendship was also solidified through their involvement in the Rangers ultra group, the Union Bears.
The attack on Newall's cab took place as reports of a truce in Scotland's gang war emerged.
It was claimed that McGill had agreed to pull back on a series of bitter attacks launched against Edinburgh mob boss Mark Richardson and his close associate, Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, from the notorious Glasgow Daniel crime clan.
McGill has been waging war on the pair since March after Richardson's cronies ripped him off in a £500k cocaine deal.
A number of properties, cars and business linked to Richardson and Daniel have been torched and shot at in recent months while pals of the hoods have been attacked with machetes.
Neither kingpin appears to have retaliated against McGill until news of Newall's taxi emerged, just days before two key Lyons lieutenants were brutally executed in Spain.
Eddie Lyons jnr and Ross Monaghan were gunned down at a bar in Fuengirola on Saturday night.
We previously reported that the Lyons, sworn enemies of the Daniel family, were understood to be feeding McGill information about the whereabouts of his key targets.

Portrait of the week: More defence spending, more migrant arrivals and more Jenrick stunts
Home The government said that the armed forces had to move to 'warfighting readiness' and accepted the 62 recommendations of the Strategic Defence Review headed by the former defence secretary and head of Nato, Lord Robertson of Port Ellen. But the funding of the plans remained in doubt as the government insisted that a rise in defence spending to3 per cent by 2034 remained an 'aspiration'; yet Nato was expected at this month's summit to insist on a level of 3.5 per cent. The government committed £15 billion to its nuclear warhead programme; £1.5 billion to build six new munitions factories; an extra £1.5 billion for repairs to military housing; and the building of up to 12 conventionally armed nuclear-powered submarines. Power stations and airports would be defended by Home Guard volunteers. The Treasury sold its final shares in the NatWest Group, bought in the financial crisis of 2008. The US private equity company KKR pulled out of a£4 billion rescue deal for Thames Water. Lord Hermer, the Attorney General, declared that he regretted a 'clumsy' comparison of advocates of withdrawing from the European Convention on Human Rights to members of the Nazi party. Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, visited Scotland for the first time in six years. The electors of Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse voted for a new Member of the Scottish parliament. On one day 1,195 migrants arrived in England in small boats. John Healey, the Defence Secretary, pointed to the French police policy of not intervening with migrants in the water: 'We saw the smugglers launching elsewhere and coming around like a taxi to pick them up.' Robert Jenrick, the shadow justice secretary, released a video of himself challenging fare-dodgers on the London Underground to pay up.

Parole case for Angus killer Tasmin Glass deferred as family brand failure to reach decision 'a nonsense'
A parole bid by Angus killer Tasmin Glass has been deferred after the board failed to reach a decision. Bill Donaldson, the father of Glass' victim Steven Donaldson, has called the outcome 'a nonsense'. The Donaldsons were notified just before 2pm on Wednesday that The Parole Board for Scotland were 'unable to conclude their decision' on the Kirriemuir killer's latest bid for freedom. It will now be around six to eight weeks before the case is considered again at an oral hearing. Glass was granted parole in July last year, halfway through her sentence for culpable homicide, but recalled to prison in April for breaking the conditions of her release. This is the third time a parole case involving Glass has been deferred. The board failed to reach a decision on two other occasions before her eventual release last July, leaving the Donaldson family in a state of limbo for months. The latest deferral has left Steven's family frustrated as they are forced to wait yet again to see if his killer will be released from jail. Steven's dad Bill told The Courier: 'This is nonsense. 'We have not been told why this has happened but we understand it's because today's hearing was purely procedural with neither Glass nor any witnesses present. 'We are aware that she could have requested to be at the hearing but that appears to have not happened. 'This means this is, yet again, going to drag on for us. 'We now have to go through the entire procedure yet again. 'We can take comfort from the fact she currently remains in prison but how much longer do we have to deal with this. 'Yet again Glass seems to be dictating terms.' The Kirriemuir killer was sent back to jail in April after breaking the conditions of her release just nine months after being granted freedom. Under law she must be considered for parole again 'immediately' after recall. The Donaldsons were notified of today's case a fortnight ago. Glass was jailed in 2019 after being convicted of culpable homicide for her 'pivotal role' in the murder of Steven Donaldson in Kirriemuir. Her co-accused, Steven Dickie and Callum Davidson, both received life sentences after being found guilty of murder. Dickie has since taken his own life in prison. In an interview with The Courier on the eve of the parole hearing, Bill Donaldson said he will never forgive Glass or the other killers. He told us: 'We will never forgive Tasmin Glass or the other killers for the brutal way in which they murdered our beloved son. 'What they did was horrific. The way they killed Steven doesn't bear thinking about. 'We, as a family, will never forgive what they did.' Through our A Voice for Victims campaign, The Courier has been working with families like the Donaldsons to bring reforms to the Scottish parole system. We want more transparency, better communication for victims and a rethink on automatic parole consideration for violent offenders halfway through their sentence.

Love Island's Kyle's replacement confirmed as star exits over machete arrest
Love Island have announced a new singleton who will be heading into the villa. It comes just hours after Kyle Ashman was axed from the line-up over a previous arrest. The 23-year-old had been hoping to find love with someone who was "fun, confident and just themselves" on the show, fronted by Maya Jama. But just hours after he was announced, it emerged that he won't be appearing in the villa, just days before the show was due to start. Kyle had previously been arrested and quizzed by police in connection with a violent incident involving a machete earlier this year. No further action was taken by the force against Kyle. Staffordshire Police confirmed that two men were arrested on suspicion of wounding following a fight involving masked individuals and weapons outside a Stafford social club. In a statement, the force said: "We were called to a social club on Riverway, Stafford, at 7.40pm on Friday 28 February following reports that someone had been glassed outside and a fight was taking place. Some of the men involved were wearing masks and were carrying weapons. Two men went to hospital after suffering injuries at the scene. Both have since been discharged. "A man and a woman suffered minor injuries at the scene but did not want any medical treatment. A 22-year-old man, from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and affray. Another man, also 22 and from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of affray. Both were released with no further action." Kyle has strongly denied having any involvement in the incident. He said: "I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation." Meanwhile, ITV told the Mirror: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned." Now, the show has confirmed that Conor will instead be looking for love. Speaking about signing up for the show, he said he wanted someone "who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic." The rugby player form Limerick added: "I like dark eyes and I don't mind a dominant woman." Joining Conor will be 29-year-old Sophie who is currently only finding guys who present "red flags." Personal trainer Dejon, who has a very famous dad, is looking for a girlfriend who is "healthy." Meg, a payroll specialist from Southampton, is hoping to find a guy who is very tall and has a nice tan. Elsewhere, Tommy hopes to find a girlfriend who doesn't take herself too seriously. Scottish star Alima wants to find her own Disney Prince Charming. Cabin crew staff Helena, 29, has her sights set on somebody who is "funny or Northern." Musical theatre performer and energy broker Megan, 24, has already gone viral on TikTok, but she wants a guy like Timothée Chalamet. Construction project manager Blu wants a girl who is "family-oriented." Marketing worker Shakira, hailing from Burnley, hopes to find a gym-goer. Semi-professional footballer, model and gold trader Harry, who stands in as a body double for Declan Rice is hoping to meet a girl who isn't the "most obvious."
