On March 1 the victim was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom. All three students died on the spot, while the fourth occupant, critically injured, is undergoing treatment at Sunrise Hospital in Hayathnagar. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.

Hyderabad: A 17-year-old Intermediate first year student died by suicide at her residence in Tattiannaram, under the jurisdiction of Nagole police station, on Tuesday, shortly after the announcement of board exam results. The girl had reportedly failed in one subject. Based on a complaint filed by her brother, Nagole police registered a case of suspicious death. The deceased, identified as S Arundhati, was a BiPC student at Narayana Junior College in Kothapet. Her father, S Ravi Kumar, is a real estate businessman, and the family resides in YSR Colony, Tattiannaram. According to police, the girl took her life at 1.30 pm. "Arundhati was inside the house while her mother was outside doing household chores. When her mother entered Arundhati's room, she found her hanging from a ceiling rod using a sari. With the help of neighbours, Arundhati was brought down and rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead," said Nagole inspector Surya Naik. Naik said that Arundhati had failed in her botany subject and, in a moment of emotional distress, may have taken the extreme step. No suicide note was found. In his complaint, Arundhati's brother, Gowtham, said that she died by suicide due to her exam failure. Police registered a case under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the body has been sent for a postmortem examination.
