Joe Burrow fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions
Joe Burrow 2025 Fantasy Preview
2024: Finishing off the season with a Comeback Player of the Year award, Joe Burrow posted gaudy numbers in 2024. He threw the ball 652 times for 43 touchdowns and 4,918 yards, leading the league in all three categories. The volume came from the Bengals' struggling defense allowing 25.5 points per game. Burrow's 0.16 EPA per play ranked No. 8 among quarterbacks as the volume provided fruitful fantasy opportunity. Cincinnati failed to make the playoffs, but Burrow was among the best quarterbacks in the league and finished as a top three fantasy quarterback on a points-per-game basis.
What's changed: The Bengals added Lucas Patrick and rookie Dylan Fairchild to the offensive line. Tee Higgins returns on a new deal; he and Ja'Marr Chase continue to give Burrow the best wide receiver duo in the league. The offensive line will need to improve, but the playmakers are still there.
2025 Outlook: Burrow is poised to pass the ball at a high rate again, with a still-improving defense and two of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Chase and Higgins both averaged over 2.0 yards per route run last season and pair well with Burrow to boost him into the fantasy QB1 range for 2025.

MLB-best Brewers rally again, set franchise single-season record for consecutive victories with 14
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers set a single-season franchise record with their 14th straight victory Saturday. And, in keeping with recent form, it wasn't easy. The major league-leading Brewers rallied for the second straight game and beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-5 in 11 innings. This Milwaukee club set a new benchmark — so far — for consecutive victories, surpassing the 1987 team that opened that season by winning its first 13 games. The Brewers will look to add to their streak in the series finale against division rival Cincinnati on Sunday. Milwaukee's overall record for consecutive wins is 16 games, from 1986-87, when they won their last three games in 1986 and their first 13 in 1987. On Friday night, the Brewers' run appeared to be in jeopardy before they rallied from seven runs down through two innings by scoring nine unanswered runs in beating the Reds 10-8. Milwaukee looked to be in trouble again Saturday, but showed its resilience — for the second time in 24 hours — with the big blow being a pinch-hit, three-run homer in the 11th by Andrew Monasterio. 'It's an amazing feeling,' said Monasterio, who wears the No. 14. 'I wasn't ready for like 14 to 14. ... That's amazing.' Monasterio was seemingly prepped for his showstopping and streak-extending moment. '(Manager) Pat Murphy asked me to be ready three or four times,' the 28-year-old infielder said. "That was the fifth time he asked me to be ready during the game. He asked me in the seventh, 'Are you ready for a big moment?' I said, 'Of course, yeah.' But I didn't know it was going to happen like this.' Milwaukee starter Quinn Priester said his under-11-year-old team went 49-0 and called that fun. 'But not as fun as this,' he said. Priester said the Brewers have been making the most of every chance provided by opponents. 'We've just been giving ourselves every opportunity, and then certainly when we get extra opportunities, we seem to take advantage every single time,' he said. "You get your opportunity, it's time to go in and make a big swing, make a big pitch. When guys are getting their opportunities, we're not timid, that's for sure.' The Brewers jumped to an early lead when Brice Turang doubled in a run in the second inning. The Reds got solo homers from Ke'Bryan Hayes and Spencer Steer in the sixth for a 2-1 lead. As it turned out, the Reds helped Milwaukee keep its winning streak alive as the Brewers scored on a throwing error by Cincinnati shortstop Elly De La Cruz in the ninth to tie the game at 2-all. And, the Brewers went ahead in the 10th when Anthony Seigler scored on an error by left fielder Jake Fraley. Cincinnati battled back in the bottom of the 10th and tied it at 3-all on an RBI double by Hayes. Ultimately, the Reds provided the Brewers with too many chances to continue their winning ways as Monasterio belted a three-run shot in the 11th — just his second of the season after his first on July 3 against the New York Mets. The Reds pushed back again in the bottom half, cutting the deficit with a sacrifice fly by Santiago Espinal and trimming their deficit to a run on Noelvi Marte's ninth homer of the year. But Milwaukee prevailed when reliever Nick Mears got Matt McLain to fly out to the warning track in right-center, ending the game and extending the streak. Milwaukee is now 34 games over .500 at 78-44 and boasts a nine-game lead in the NL Central over the Chicago Cubs. In the National League, the Brewers are eight games better than the East Division-leading Philadelphia Phillies (70-53). ___ AP MLB:

Brewers fans and baseball world celebrate Milwaukee's franchise-record 14th straight win
The 2025 Milwaukee Brewers stand alone. Led by manager Pat Murphy and a cast of never-say-die players, the Brewers are now owners of the longest winning streak in franchise history, surpassing Team Streak of 1987 after securing their 14th straight victory in a tense extra-inning battle with the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Who would be tonight's hero? Win No. 14 came from who else, No. 14. A night after an electric seven-run come back, the Brewers clawed their way back again and knocked off the Reds, 6-5, behind a monumental three-run homer by pinch-hitter Andruw Monasterio in the top of the 11th inning. They've won games during the streak in blowout fashion. They've won with surreal walkoffs by the offense and defense. They've won with incredible comebacks. They've won with record-setting powerful hit parades and with the power of the Uecker bat. They've won by eating pancakes and by giving their fans free burgers. And along the way they've exorcised some past demons, too, against some familiar former playoff opponents. One by one — first the Washington Nationals in three games, then the Atlanta Braves for three, then the New York Mets for three, then the Pittsburgh Pirates for another three and now the Cincinnati Reds for two — they all fall at the hands of this relentless, friendship-embodied Brewers team. Just when it seems like the winning streak might end, there's some magic in the air. Or maybe there's just some hard-nose, tough-as-nails players who all play their role to perfection. While the story of the 2025 Brewers is still being written, this team, which is head and shoulders atop the National League with a 78-44 record and that has two double-digit win streaks in the last two months, will go down in the record books. The Brewers will now look to get their brooms out again for a hard-to-believe fifth straight three-game sweep on Sunday. Here's how social media reacted to the Brewers' record-setting 14th straight win. Andruw Monasterio's home-run heroics for Brewers are a hit on social media
Andruw Monasterio's three-run home run in the 11th inning spurred the Milwaukee Brewers to their team-record 14th consecutive victory, 6-5, over the Cincinnati Reds on Aug. 16. It also spurred a lot of reaction on social media because Monasterio's home-run heroics were so unlikely. It was just his second homer of the season and the sixth of his career.
