Shehnaaz Gill's drastic weight loss journey needs no introduction. After her Bigg Boss 13 journey, the diva emerged as a social media icon, not just for her talent as an actress and singer but for being a true-blue fitness enthusiast. Her transformation as she shed nearly 12 kilograms within six months left many stunned, with some even wondering what her diet routine would have looked like during the entire journey.
During a chat with Shilpa Shetty Kundra on Mirchi Plus, Shehnaaz Gill reflected on her weight loss journey, allowing fans a peek into her diet routine. Amid the interaction, she revealed that the dramatic transformation was the result of her mindful eating habits and a consistent exercise regimen.
Morning routine
The actress begins her day with a blend of turmeric water with apple cider vinegar and a cup of tea. Although turmeric comes with its own health benefits, it must be consumed in an adequate amount to maximise its advantages. Once hydrated, she opts for methi parathas, or dosa for breakfast to ensure that her first meal of the day is rich in protein. Occasionally, she includes poha in her routine but incorporates more vegetables like broccoli, carrots and bell peppers in the dish. She also enjoys a bowl of granola paired with curd.
Lunch
For her midday meal, Shehnaaz goes for a wholesome option, packed with nutrients. Her plate for lunch mostly includes lentils, a fresh salad with sprouts, scrambled tofu and a whole wheat roti brushed with ghee, providing a blend of proteins, carbohydrates and fiber.
Evening Snacks And Dinner
According to Shehnaaz, the last meal of the day plays a key role in the fitness journey. While for her evening snacks, she enjoys a handful of roasted fox nuts (makhana) cooked in ghee, her dinner is mostly made up of khichdi, curd and a bottle gourd (doodhi) soup which ensures a proper amount of vitamins, minerals and nutrients.
Back in 2020, Shehnaaz Gill opened up on how her eating habits made the difference. In an interview with ETimes, she shared, 'Every day, I ate just one or two things. I wouldn't stuff too much variety in my daily consumption of food. For example, if I ate dal and moong for lunch, I would eat the same for dinner. And I reduced the portions. If I was hungry for two rotis, I ate only one."
Shehnaaz further noted that she cut down on some foods and with absolutely no workout or exercise, she managed to drop to 55 kg from 67 kg.
