The Galaxy S25 Edge can record Log videos with its selfie camera, other phones to be updated too
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series launched with Log mode for videos, a feature that was backported to the Galaxy S24 series with the One UI 7 update. Log videos can be recorded with all the rear cameras, but not the selfie camera – not yet, anyway.
Now with One UI 8 on the way, there is evidence that the Galaxy S25 models will have Log support for Video and Pro Video modes when recording with the selfie camera for several older models. You can see the toggle in these screenshots that were shared by @DevOfIpos:

In the second screenshot you can see that the False Color (and presumably Zebra Pattern) exposure monitor toggle is available to help you identify over/under-exposed areas in the frame.
Log videos aren't intended for direct consumption, you have to do color correction first – you can do that manually or you can let the Gallery app do it automatically (using the Edit suggestion feature).
Note that these screenshots were taken on the new Galaxy S25 Edge, which will be released at the end of this month. The phone will come with One UI 7 out of the box, which suggests that the other S25 models could get it as part of a v7 update. This could happen as soon as next month, according to @DevOfIpos. That may not be the case for all eligible phones, however, so they may be in for a longer wait.

The Log mode for the selfie camera is apparently also coming to the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, based on early One UI 8 builds. It's not clear whether this feature will be added to the older Galaxy S24 series or not, though.

Simply put, this powerhouse is perfect for users who want cutting-edge performance in a compact and ultra-slim form factor. With Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 12GB of RAM under the hood, it delivers performance on par with the other Galaxy S25 models. In other words, it'll handle any task or game you throw at it with ease. But unlike the other Galaxy S25 models, our friend here is just 5.8mm thin. Samsung even boasts that it's the slimmest S Series phone yet. For comparison, the vanilla Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ measure 7.2mm thick, while the Ultra pushes that up to course, the slim design comes at a cost. That's why it lacks a telephoto camera and packs a relatively small 3,900mAh battery. But if it fits the bill for you, and you don't mind the lack of a telephoto camera or the smaller battery, we suggest acting fast and taking advantage of Samsung's Discover deal while it lasts!

Galaxy S25 Edge drop test shows why you should probably use a case
At a mere 5.8mm, the Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung's thinnest phone to date, and its slender profile has naturally raised some durability concerns. We now have a drop test courtesy of PBKreviews, which shows that it can handle a few drops and scuffs but not as well as its bulkier siblings. The Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 screen suffers cracks after the very first drop, though it remains functional. The titanium frame then takes a few scuffs in the next tumbles, but there's no structural damage yet. The third drop manages to crack the Victus 2 glass back and also scuffs up the main camera sensor, but the phone is still fully operational. For more details on the S25 Edge, head over to our detailed written review where we cover our usual set of tests. Also feel free to check out Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge design story, which details the key internal restructuring that took place to reach the desired thinness. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
