NEWPORT: Family remember teen Dan Wright with Pen y Fan walk
Daniel Wright, commonly known as Dan, passed away in April 2023 in a car crash on Magor Road, Newport. His mother Becky Wright explains: 'Sunday, June 22 will be his birthday we can't celebrate with him, so this is the best way we can remember him.'
Dan's parents will be joined on the Pen y Fan Walk by the bearers at his funeral. Pen y Fan is the highest point in south Wales.
With great sadness Becky added: 'To honour Dan, Chris and I will be tackling Pen y Fan as Dan always intended to do it himself but, sadly never got the chance. Please join us if you can remember him Let us know if you can make it.'

But the midfielder was unable to prevent relegation to League One. Cardiff are now close to announcing Leicester assistant Brian Barry-Murphy, 46, as their new manager. The Welsh club said in a statement: 'Aaron will leave the Bluebirds this summer. 'The Welsh captain rejoined his childhood club during the summer of 2023, before taking up the role of caretaker manager for the final three games of the 2024/25 campaign. And it was a result that wrote England's name in the history books as they now hold the record for the most amount of wins in the iconic competition with five. Sadly for Smith, his world ranking positioning means he will miss out on the chance to retain back-to-back titles. Welsh stars Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price will pose a huge threat to England's title, and Gary Anderson and Peter Wright should also fancy as for the Netherlands, they have suffered a massive blow to their chances with Michael van Gerwen pulling out of all upcoming tournaments due to his split with wife Daphne.
