3 men, woman nabbed in hotel khalwat raid in Kluang
The enforcement team moved in at 12.30am following a public tip-off that couples were using small-town budget hotels for immoral activities.
Khalwat is an offence under Islamic law referring to an unrelated man and woman being found alone together in close proximity, which is considered immoral.
JAINJ, in a statement, said the trio, all in their 20s, had "booked" the woman, who works at an eatery, to entertain them.
Investigations revealed that one of the men had taken her out for a meal before bringing her to the hotel, where his two friends were waiting.
"The woman came voluntarily and was aware of their presence. There is also a possibility that she received payment," the statement read.
Checks showed the group had booked the room online for two nights, and the raid was carried out on the second night.

Busted twice for khalwat in 3 months – same house, by same officers
TANGKAK: Lightning struck twice for a divorced man and a single mother of one when religious enforcement officers caught them committing khalwat again in the same house – just three months after their first arrest. The couple, both in their 30s, were detained during a Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) raid at 12.30am yesterday. In a statement, JAINJ said its enforcement officers had spotted the man parking his car under a tree, 200m from the woman's house, before slipping inside. The enforcement team then moved in. "When the door opened, they said little when they realised the same officers had nabbed them at the very same house three months ago," the statement read. They were fined RM2,800 each by the Tangkak Syariah Court for the previous offence, but the penalty failed to deter them. For the latest offence, the court granted bail of RM2,000 each, pending trial. JAINJ added that the pair had applied to marry and planned to wed in two months.

Ex-GISBH members leave Selangor following fatwa
SHAH ALAM: Many former members of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) are believed to have relocated to other states after Selangor declared the group's teachings and network deviant and illegal. Selangor executive councillor for Islamic religious affairs and innovation Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah said children previously placed under GISBH institutions have now been enrolled in public schools. "We also provide essential support, including school uniforms and basic needs, through zakat distribution," he said, as reported by Kosmo. Mohammad Fahmi said parents formerly linked to GISBH are now participating in Riqab classes designed to guide them towards proper religious understanding. On the legal front, he confirmed that investigation papers had been resubmitted to the prosecution office within the past two weeks after additional details were requested. The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) had detained 108 individuals suspected of involvement with GISBH, most of them investigated under Section 12(c) of the Syariah Criminal Offences (Selangor) Enactment.
