Billy Joel Cancels All Concerts Due to Brain Disorder
Billy Joel, January 2024 ()
Earlier this year, Billy Joel postponed numerous concerts due to a then-unspecified medical condition. The musician and his team have now canceled those shows and revealed that Joel was recently diagnosed with a brain disorder called normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). 'This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,' Joel's team stated. 'Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.' See the full statement and the affected tour dates below.
Joel performed two shows in February before postponing, and now canceling, his tour dates. All tickets for the canceled shows will be automatically refunded.

Laufey, photo by Emma Summerton Laufey has announced a new album, A Matter of Time. The Icelandic Chinese singer and composer's follow-up to 2023's Bewitched arrives August 22 (via Vingolf/AWAL). Aaron Dessner produced the LP alongside Spencer Stewart. 'Tough Luck,' which leads the album, is 'a fiery song about love gone wrong,' Laufey said in press materials. 'I wanted to reveal an angrier side of myself—a side that this unfortunate relationship brought out in me.' Listen to that below. Of the album, Laufey added, 'People expect a pretty facade of girly clothes, fantastical stories, and romantic music. This time, I was interested in seeing how I could draw out the most flawed parts of myself and look at them directly in the mirror.' Clipse Announce Let God Sort Em Out , First New Album Since 2009
Clipse's No Malice and Pusha T, photo by Cian Moore After years of teasing, Pusha T and No Malice have made it official: There will be a new Clipse album. Let God Sort Em Out, the Thornton brothers' long-awaited follow-up to December 2009's Til the Casket Drops, is out July 11 via Roc Nation Distribution. Longtime collaborator Pharrell Williams produced the new album, and Kaws did the artwork. The new album's lead single, 'Ace Trumpets,' is out on Friday, May 30. During their 2000s heyday, Clipse released three studio albums—Lord Willin' (2002), Hell Hath No Fury (2006), and Til the Casket Drops—and three volumes of their iconic We Got It 4 Cheap mixtape series. After Clipse went on hiatus, Pusha T released numerous standout projects, beginning with 2011's Fear of God mixtape and extending to the 2022 studio album It's Almost Dry. No Malice, meanwhile, shared just two albums, Hear Ye Him (2013) and Let the Dead Bury the Dead (2017). Clipse reunited, in 2019, on Kanye West's Jesus Is King song 'Use This Gospel.' The Thorntons have since performed together regularly, playing sets at Primavera Sound Barcelona, Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, and elsewhere. Originally Appeared on Pitchfork

Hunx and His Punx Announce Tour and First Album in 12 Years, Share Video for New Song: Watch
All products featured on Pitchfork are independently selected by Pitchfork editors. However, when you buy something through our retail links, Condé Nast may earn an affiliate commission. Hunx and His Punx's Seth Bogart, Shannon Shaw, and Erin Emslie, photo by Sandy Honig Hunx and His Punx, the California garage-punk and power-pop band led by Seth Bogart, have announced a tour and their first album in 12 years. Walk Out on This World is out August 22 via Get Better. Rounding out the lineup are Shannon Shaw and Erin Emslie, and you can hear them in all their comeback glory on 'Alone in Hollywood on Acid,' the album's lead single. Check out its wig-laden, campy music video, directed by Sandy Honig, below. After reuniting in 2019, Hunx and His Punx set about writing a follow-up record to 2013's Street Punk, but it took five years to complete due to unexpected losses and struggles, including the death of Shaw's fiance and the contamination of Bogart's house due to the Altadena fires. The 12-track LP deals with grief, wild nights, escapism, and more. This summer, Hunx and His Punx embark on a headlining tour of North America in support of Walk Out on This World. Starting on August 26, in Seattle, the band will then head to Philadelphia, Cleveland, Toronto, Chicago, and more cities before ending the route on September 27 in Los Angeles.
