Billy Joel, 76, just canceled all concerts due to a health issue. Here's his diagnosis
Billy Joel is canceling all his upcoming concerts, including a date in South Florida, due to a serious health issue. His representatives announced Friday that the so-called Piano Man has been diagnosed with a neurological disorder called normal pressure hydrocephalus. 'This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,' said a statement on the singer's Instagram. 'Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.' Joel had been set to take the stage at Hard Rock Live, near Hollywood, on Nov. 1, a show that had been originally scheduled for Jan. 17. The statement says ticketholders don't need to take any action; the refund will automatically be refunded back to the original payment used for purchase. The New York native concerned fans back in February while performing at the Mohegan Sun resort in Montville, Connecticut. Now we know what may have been wrong The 76-year-old, as seen in a TikTok video, was wrapping up his classic 'It's Still Rock and Roll to Me' when he tossed his microphone into the crowd, stumbled, then fell flat on his back. Ever the trooper, the music icon managed to get back up and finish the show. As per the Cleveland Clinic, NPH occurs due to fluid buildup inside or around your brain with symptoms similar to those with dementia. It can affect not only memory but concentration, dexterity and movement. The average age for this condition to arise is around 70. The good news: NPH is sometimes reversible . In the Instagram statement, Joel expressed how badly he felt about letting his fans down. 'I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience,' said the post, 'and thank you for understanding.' Billy Joel Diagnosed with Brain Disorder, Cancels All Upcoming Tour Dates
The post Billy Joel Diagnosed with Brain Disorder, Cancels All Upcoming Tour Dates appeared first on Consequence. Billy Joel has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a brain disorder that causes fluid to accumulate in the brain's ventricles, leading to issues with hearing, vision, and balance. The condition has been 'exacerbated' by recent live performances, and as a result, the 76-year-old musician has been forced to cancel all upcoming concerts scheduled through 2026. 'Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. He is grateful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health,' according to a statement released on Friday. In his own words, Joel added, 'I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.' Joel most recently performed in February, during which he notably fell on his back while attempting to throw his microphone to a stagehand. In March, he postponed four months' worth of tour dates for what was then described as an undisclosed medical condition requiring surgery. The symptoms of NPH are reversible if caught early enough. The condition impacts 0.3% of adults between the age of 70 and 80 years old, with the primary symptoms being cognitive difficulties, trouble walking, and urinary incontinence, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Those diagnosed with the disorder may undergo surgery to implant a device that drains excess fluid. How Kelly Clarkson Got Into Trouble on Show: ‘F— That'
Kelly Clarkson is about as sweet as you can get when it comes to a former reality TV star. The daytime talk show host is often seen interacting with her fans. Everyone loves to hear her sing or make small talk. But recently, she found herself in hot water after she commented on people's appearances. During her May 10 concert at the Hard Rock Live via Too Fab at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Kelly got carried away when talking about self-love. Like most musicians do, Kelly took a moment to open up to her audience. This time she spoke on the topic of double standards. In recent years, Kelly has made headlines for her weight loss. And while it shouldn't be a topic of conversation these days, it somehow still is. One fan decided to yell that she was 'sexy' during her speech, which triggered the mom of two to reflect on the many compliments and insults she had received over the years. Kelly shared that she had been chastised for complimenting on how others looked around her. Even though she only meant for positive encouragement, her management felt it was a bad decision. While on stage, Kelly joked, 'Every time I go to an HR meeting, I'm like, 'How have I not been fired? They say you're not allowed to say someone looks attractive, and I say f*ck that.' Even though some of the rules are there to avoid any hard feelings, Kelly isn't about to stop being nice. The 43-year-old added 'They were like, 'It might make people feel bad that they looked bad before.' I was fat before, so I'm saying I want you to say, 'Damn!'' she continued. 'Because some of those b*tches are out here working, and we're trying, and I want every motherf*cker that passes me to go, 'Damn! Well done!'' She ended her speech by telling the fan, 'Thank you for saying I look sexy. I will not be calling HR.' TELL US – DO YOU THINK KELLY WAS WRONG TO GIVE A COMPLIMENT?
