‘People should take part in Murugan conference en masse'
To stress the State government about various needs of Murugan devotees, people should take part in the Murugan conference en masse to be held in Madurai on June 22, said Hindu Munnani general secretary M. Muruganandham.
Speaking to the press following a preparatory meeting for the conference here on Saturday, he said that the particular stretch of the road from Karaikudi to Palani should be made five-way to facilitate the devotees who would be undertaking 'padayatra' to the temple.
The conference would press for other demands such as a separate road to Tiruchendur for devotees to use during 'Vaikasi visakam' and other festivals, he added.

Stalin raking up delimitation issue to cover up his failures, says Union minister L Murugan
Coimbatore: Union minister of state L Murugan on Saturday said chief minister M K Stalin was raising the issue of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies to cover up the failures of his regime. He urged Stalin to focus on running the govt properly, instead of misleading the people. Addressing the media at the city airport, Murugan said the DMK govt had increased the electricity tariff and property tax and was involved in the Tasmac scam. "Is the chief minister running the govt or are his young brothers running the show? The CM has made it a habit to blame the Union govt to cover up his govt's failures. A caste-wise census has already been conducted in Bihar and Telangana. Stalin has no intention of conducting such a census in Tamil Nadu. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that a caste-wise census will be conducted across the country, and he is a true leader of social justice," Murugan said. He said the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies was never discussed in parliament. The Prime Minister clearly stated that the constituencies would be restructured without harming anyone or any state, he said.

EPS, Murugan say Stalin using delimitation issue as a diversionary tactic
EPS, Murugan say Stalin using delimitation issue as a diversionary tactic Times News Network Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Friday the AIADMK will never allow Tamil Nadu 's representation in Parliament to be reduced. Hitting back at chief minister M K Stalin for alleging that AIADMK was silent on the Centre's Census plans, thereby complicit in BJP's plans to reduce TN's parliamentary representation, EPS said that Stalin should stop using the delimitation row as a distraction to hide his "govt's failures and scams.'' "We will never allow our representation to be reduced or our voice to be silenced. In 2027, or whenever delimitation may come, AIADMK — back in power — will fiercely defend Tamil Nadu's rightful voice and future," he said on X. Alleging that Stalin speaks of fair delimitation while presiding over the most unfair, corrupt, and dynastic regime Tamil Nadu has ever seen, EPS demanded that the CM should first delimit corruption. "First, delimit the TASMAC loot. Delimit the drug mafia. Delimit illicit liquor. Delimit rowdyism. Delimit the corruption of your ministers. And most importantly, delimit your family's arrogance and stranglehold over Tamil Nadu," he said. "The people of Tamil Nadu are tired of your drama and crocodile tears," he added. Union minister L Murugan also said Stalin should stop using the issue to divert people's attention. "Stalin has begun scaremongering to hide his govt's failure to control crimes," he said. Murugan said that even after Union Home Minister Amit Shah clarified that TN would not be affected by the delimitation exercise, Stalin was constantly trying to play politics through a bundle of lies. Plea in HC for nod to set up miniatures of Murugan abodes
Madurai: Hindu Munnani state secretary S Muthukumar moved Madras high court on Friday seeking a direction to the authorities to permit them to set up temporary miniatures of the six abodes of Lord Murugan and perform pujas ahead of the Lord Murugan devotees' conference in Madurai on June 22. Justice B Pugalendhi directed Madurai city police to file a counter, and adjourned the hearing to June 9. Muthukumar said Hindu Munnani decided to arrange for a gathering of devotees of Lord Murugan in the name of 'Muruga Bakthargalin Aanmeega Maanadu' at Amma Thidal near Pandikoil ring road. Miniatures of the six abodes of Murugan (Arupadai Veedugal) would be installed as a temporary structure within the conference premises to let devotees get darshan of the lord's six abodes at one place from June 10 to June 22. They also planned to perform pujas at the miniature abodes from 10am to 12pm and 5pm to 7pm, and distribute prasadams to devotees. Sthalapuranam of the six abodes would be displayed and explained to the devotees. On the day of the conference, devotees would chant Kanda Shashti Kavacham and Thiruppugazh. Spiritual and cultural programmes would also be held. A representation was made to the city police for using sound amplifiers. However, police rejected permission for it as well as for setting up miniature structures of the six abodes. The petitioner said police regularly grant permission for using sound amplifiers in Amma Thidal for various public meetings. Hence he moved court challenging the rejection order.
