
Zain Group's Data Office holds workshop on AI strategies across mobile and ICT industry
AMMAN: Zain Group, a leading provider of innovative ICT and digital lifestyle services operating in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa, concluded a captivating 'Data and AI' three-day workshop, organized by Zain Group Technology's Data Office team in partnership with Cloudera and ZainTECH, Zain's digital enterprise arm, held last week in Amman, Jordan.
A key element of Zain's Group Technology department, the Data Office team has firmly established itself as an AI and Digital Innovation leader by embedding world-class data governance practices and analytics to the heart of Zain's business across the organization.
The Forum represented a unique opportunity for Zain's data-focused talent group-wide to collaboratively discuss and elevate innovation and deployment issues related to digital data and AI capabilities, given the growing importance of these technological advancements across all industries, globally. The intention of the workshop was to accelerate the adoption of data and AI in accordance with Zain's '4WARD-Progress with Purpose' strategy, with a particular emphasis on the 'Customer Delight' and 'Digital Zain' pillars.
Participants interacted with industry experts and thought leaders, gaining valuable insights into current trends and best practices in data and AI implementation that enhance innovation and improve customer experiences throughout Zain's digital ecosystem. This is set to be achieved through the further development of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, and building out digital infrastructure further.

The first day of the Forum focused on theoretical and strategic insights, featuring keynotes, industry trends, and platform overviews, notably learnings of Cloudera's latest advanced AI tools and models. The second day involved hands-on collaboration Datathon exercise, with teams working in breakout groups to develop real-world use cases. The third day was dedicated to showcasing outcomes, as teams presented their solutions to industrial challenges to a judging panel, reinforcing the forum's emphasis on practical application, innovation, and cross-regional synergy.
The winning team of the Datathon completed the entire process, from brainstorming a business use case to demonstrating its value and deploying it, incredibly under 48 hours, all while utilizing Cloudera Agent Studio. The occasion also saw Zain Group Strategy executives present the groupwide Data and AI strategy to attendees which forms a key pillar of the company's '4WARD-Progress with Purpose' strategy.

Zain Summer Program: a remarkable conclusion for a remarkable cohort
One of the first programs of its kind inspiring similar initiatives to empower national talents KUWAIT: With great success, Zain Kuwait concluded the sixth season of its Summer Program — one of the first comprehensive summer training programs of its kind in the Kuwaiti private sector — with a closing ceremony held at its main headquarters in Shuwaikh. The ceremony was attended by students and partners and featured on-stage recognition of all 35 participating students in appreciation of their efforts throughout the program, in addition to honoring the partners who contributed to the success of this distinguished experience. This year's partners included Kuwait News, Kuwait Times, INJAZ Kuwait, and the new partner V-Thru, the leading virtual drive-thru service platform. Over its six seasons, the program has trained more than 250 students from various academic disciplines, offering them a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and professional skills in an environment that mirrors the private sector work environment. This year's participants were distributed across three main training tracks: Zain's branches, media institutions Kuwait News and Kuwait Times, and the new operational and technical track with V-Thru. They gained diverse experiences in customer service, sales, digital marketing, content creation, logistics, and journalistic reporting. The program extended beyond hands-on training to include theoretical workshops delivered by INJAZ Kuwait to enhance personal skills, as well as recreational activities and interactive events to foster team spirit, such as go-kart racing, a shooting competition, and a special session hosted by director Ya'roub Bourahma and young content creator Aws Ya'roub Bourahma on modern media strategies and challenges, and how to communicate messages creatively and artistically. An additional interactive workshop on creative smartphone photography was presented by Kuwait Times and Kuwait News Production Manager Nasser Hayati, introducing students to the basics of smartphone videography, creative content production, and directing and artistic production skills. Zain Group reports exceptional Performance for H1 2025: Net Profit soars 49% YoY to reach KD 121m(USD 395m); Revenue grows 14% YoY to reach KD 1.1bn (USD 3.5bn)
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: Zain Group, a leading provider of innovative ICT and digital lifestyle communications, operating in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa, announces its consolidated financial results forsecond quarter (Q2) and six-months (H1) ended 30 June 2025. Zain served 50.9million customers at the end H1 2025, a7% increase Year-on-Year (YOY),driven by network restorationin Sudan and expansion in Iraq. Group Key Performance Indicators (KD and USD) for the first six months (H1) of 2025 Zain Group H1 2025 revenue soared 14% YoY to reach KD 1.1billion (USD 3.5 billion). EBITDA grew10% YoY to reach KD 356 million (USD 1.2 billion), reflecting an EBITDA margin of 33%. Net income for the first six months soared49% YoY, reaching KD 121 million (USD 395 million).Net income for H1 2025 includes one-time gain of KD 15 million (USD 50 million) on settlement of legal disputeinvolving INWI, of which Zain Group is a 15.5% shareholder (via Zain Al Ajial).H1 2025 Earnings per share stood at 28fils (USD 0.09). Zain celebrates 10 years of LOYAC's KON Program
KUWAIT: Zain Kuwait, the strategic partner of LOYAC, took part in the closing ceremony of the KON Social Entrepreneurship Program's 10th season, hosted by the American University of Kuwait (AUK). The event was attended by students, parents, partners, and academics. During the ceremony, Hamad Al-Musaibeeh, Corporate Relations Department Manager at Zain Kuwait, honored the SweepyTech team, winners of the 'Most Innovative Idea' category, in recognition of their outstanding creativity in presenting solutions to social challenges and utilizing technology and artificial intelligence to serve environmental sustainability goals. This season was a special milestone, marking ten years since the program's launch by LOYAC in partnership with Babson College in the United States, with Zain's active participation throughout the decade.
