24 Really Shocking "It Tastes Good, I Swear!" Food Combos That People Love — No Matter How Deeply Concerning Some Are

Yahoo20-04-2025

Last week, I shared with Tasty readers that I liked pickles on a peanut butter sandwich. I really thought I was weird for that, but after everyone commented back with their own bizarre food fixations, I felt like my snack might not be so strange after all.
Hundreds of people in the Tasty Community shared their favorite weird snacks, and as an appreciator of bizarre foods myself, I was impressed by how strange some of the food combos were.
I've rounded up 24 of the most unique snacks below (and as weird as some of these sound, I really want to try them):
1."Marshmallows in my dad's pizza sauce. It works for some unexplainable reason."
–Anonymous
2."Grilled cheese rolled into tiny balls and dipped in a chocolate milkshake. Dunno if that counts as weird, but I was judged for it, lol."
–fluffyghoul1435
3."Totino's Pizza rolls dipped in apple cider vinegar."
–mushycupcake208
4."Indian sweet and spicy tamarind sauce on vanilla bean ice cream with black pepper."
–minicomet442
5."Camembert cheese and banana on Salada crackers with Marmite. Yes, I'm illegal."
–fluffygoblin202
6."Can of cream of chicken soup, pop that sucker open, don't cook it or dilute it. Use the condensed mix as a dip for crackers."
–stylishminion27
7."Cottage cheese and baked beans. Try it just once and you'll be hooked!"
–Katie, 40, Colorado

8."I really like a cream cheese sandwich with pickles, ginger, and sriracha, and sometimes eggs!"
–Liyana, Calgary
9."Popcorn and milk! You eat it like you would cereal, but with salt, butter, and milk. It goes way back in my family and was always eaten at family gatherings."
–Anonymous
10."Twizzlers and Peanut Butter; especially JIF Chocolate PB."
Melanie, 47, Texas
11."Banana and mayo sandwiches. TRUST."
–Becca Burgess, Instagram
12."Strawberries dipped in sour cream and then brown sugar. Fresh strawberries are best. Wife thought I was crazy, but when she tried it, she loved it."
–Jason, 53, South Carolina
13."Dill pickles dipped in vanilla yogurt."
–Ann Fort, Instagram
14."Not me, but my friend started ranting one day about how she really wanted vanilla ice cream with Doritos and pickles. Personally, I like crushed Lays in yogurt. I know it sounds really weird, but one day I was out of granola and tried crushed chips instead. The saltiness paired very well with the sweet yogurt. Also, my other friend loooooves putting blueberries on her avocado toast (she swears by it)."
–Anonymous, 26, USA
15."Pasta (any kind, but I prefer rotini or radiatori) with raspberry vinaigrette and queso fresco. Amazing combination of sweet but tangy, and the saltiness of the cheese. Been eating this for years and my family can't stand it."
–Anonymous
16."Hard-boiled eggs with peanut butter and jelly on top."
–Jessica, Instagram
17."The liquid in the Vienna sausage cans. I pour it on a cup of rice and dig in! My friends call me weird for that. 🤷‍♂️"
–James, Threads
18."Watermelon with blue cheese and sunflower kernels. Rosemary crackers, strawberry-jalapeno jam, sharp cheddar, and a sweet gherkin. Both totally weird, both totally DELISH!"
Mary Smith, Threads
19."Cottage cheese mixed with a squirt of mustard mixed in, eaten with hearts of palm. It's SO WEIRD, but SO DELICIOUS!"
–Jill Kimmel, Threads
20."I don't remember how or why I discovered this, but eating a really sharp cheddar cheese with a glass of orange juice just does it for me. Something about the tartness of the juice cutting through the sharpness of the cheese. So good!"
–Nick, 44, Minnesota
21."Spicy Cheetos dipped in vanilla yogurt. Not for everyone, but it is my favorite vice."
–Anonymous
22."Trader Joe's Takis on a bagel with plain cream cheese!"
–Anonymous
23."Oreo dipped in hot sauce. The spiciness complements the creamy filling surprisingly well."
–Ashley, 58, Italy
24."A cinnamon raisin bagel with lox."
–Anonymous

Dad Makes Baby Girl 'Apologize' to Every Passenger After 8-Hour Flight

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A family has gone viral after playfully getting their baby daughter to "apologize" to passengers after a long-haul flight. Hannah Chestnut, originally from London in the UK, and her husband Joseph, from Ohio, are proud parents to five-month-old twin baby girls, which can make family life slightly chaotic. Despite this, Chestnut told Newsweek: "We've decided we're going to travel with them and not be deterred by the fact that we have young babies." Traveling with babies can be stressful for the parents, but after a recent trip with their daughters, Chestnut captured a sweet moment between her husband, daughter Ava, and the other passengers—as the baby girl apologized "face-to-face" to her fellow travelers. Instagram @themumcrew Posted to Chestnut's Instagram page @themumcrew on May 28, the video showed Joseph holding Ava, dressed all in pink and with a grin on her face, as passengers disembarked the eight-hour flight from London to Atlanta. Ava faces the queue leaving the aircraft, as some of them shoot smiles back at her, with Chestnut writing over the clip: "We told her she had to apologize to everyone face-to-face for what she put them through on the flight." The sweet video racked up more than 67,000 likes, as one commenter joked: "She look at everyone like 'and I'll do it again. Watch this.'" No. She just smiled that gummy little heart-melting smile and everyone just forgave her." And one recalled a story from when her own daughter was a toddler, and once "tried to take a bite out of a stranger's burger on our flight to Cancun. Still amazed at how gracious our fellow passengers were!" Chestnut explained to Newsweek that on this particular flight, their daughters had not been "too fussy," but while waiting for their stroller and car seats "Ava kept smiling at all the other passengers as they got off the plane. So I decided to film it as her apologizing to all of them." She added: "Ironically, on the flight right after the one we got off of in the video, Ava was super loud and upset, so that was the flight we actually should've filmed the video after!" While flying with babies can be difficult, there are things parents can do to help it go as smoothly as possible. Booking an evening flight can increase the chance of the baby sleeping through the journey, and opting for longer layover times between connecting flights can help the baby or young child expend energy before the next flight, according to Pampers. Instagram @themumcrew Sharing a sweet detail about her family of four, Chestnut revealed she and her husband were born on the very same day in 1992, "on opposite sides of the Atlantic, only hours apart." "And then 32 years later we had twins, which means our family of four only has two birthdays between all of us." Reacting to the huge online response to her video, she added: "It's been so fun to see the video go viral, and we never expected such a silly moment to reach so many people so quickly." The shady way Adrian from MAFS Australia responded to ex Awhina's relationship with Billy

Married At First Sight Australia might be over, but drama from the most recent season still lingers. For those who followed series nine, you'll remember Adrian Araouzo and Awhina Rutene were initially paired together, as were Billy Belcher and Sierah Swepstone. However, you'll also know that neither relationship lasted, and both couples went their separate ways. (Billy felt betrayed when Sierah attended an evening meal with Adrian and fellow MAFS contestant Tony Mojanovski behind his back, while Awhina and Adrian had a commitment ceremony, but broke up before their Final Vows.) And to ramp up the drama even more, MAFS sleuths will be aware of the dating rumours between Awhina and Billy that have been flying around for months. While we can now report that the pair are official, after claiming they were "just friends" the entire time, Adrian has since entered the chat with a shady response to the relationship. Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, he said he had "no clue" what Billy and Awhina are doing. But if their relationship is serious, "good luck to them." Adrian then said he "hopes it's legit," because otherwise it would be "a bit embarrassing to act like a couple just for likes and attention." He continued: "I don't understand all these games certain couples are playing. If you're with someone and happy, put it out to the world [and] be proud you guys are together. Otherwise, keep it private until it's official." He then followed up by wishing them both "nothing but happiness and a healthy, successful relationship." As it stands, Awhina and Billy look super loved up. And from their joint Instagram official post, they seem to be in it for the long haul. On Friday, they shared a carousel of some recent moments, from a sweet mirror selfie to a romantic date night. The pair captioned the post: "I'll keep this one 🤭." Err, cute.
