Glasgow Timesa day ago
Laura Russell, 47, claimed she would ignite the 12 cylinders with a lighter at the property in Glasgow's Baillieston on June 6 2025.
During the four-hour stand off with police, Russell played the number one hit loudly from a speaker.
She also shouted the lyric "Gonna burn this goddamn house right down."
The incident attracted the attention of interested neighbours who were later order to vacate the area.
Russell pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to culpable and reckless conduct.
She also admitted a separate charge of theft.
The court heard that Russell had stolen a quantity of alcohol from a Morrisons supermarket one month prior.
Police went to her property on June 6 at 8.25pm to speak to her but she did not answer the door and hid behind it.
Officers however were able to see Russell's feet through the letterbox.
Russell refused to open the door and was informed that officers would force entry.
Prosecutor Lauren Sangray said: "She told officers she would blow up the house by igniting the 12 oxygen tanks that she had within.
"Russell thereafter began playing music at full volume, singing along to the song 'Murder on the Dance Floor' and then shouting the lyrics 'I'm going to burn the god damn house right down'.
"Due to the level of the music and her singing, Russell had attracted the attention of neighbouring residents within their gardens who would have heard the threats she had made."
Russell made threats to blow up the house and turned on a machine used to administer oxygen.
Russell then flicked a lighter on and off.

Stripper 'jiggled bride-to-be's breasts' & 'forced her legs open'

Stuart Kennedy, 32, appeared in court after a bride-to-be claimed he jiggled her breasts and forced her legs open during her hen party, despite allegedly telling him 'no thank you' A stripper has been accused of "jiggling a bride-to-be's breasts" during a performance at her hen party. ‌ The 32-year-old lawyer said she became hysterical and ran off to vomit during the performance, despite repeatedly telling Stuart Kennedy - dressed as a firefighter - "no thank you". The bride-to-be said she was "shocked" and "froze" when the stripper burst into the party at the luxury Scottish hotel Crieff Hydro, around 40 miles west of Dundee. The woman told a trial at Perth Sheriff Court that she was embarrassed and felt forced to participate in the show after it was secretly arranged by one of her sisters. ‌ ‌ The woman, from the highlands, claimed she repeatedly said "no thank you" to Kennedy, but said he carried on despite her clearly being uncomfortable, according to the Daily Record. She said: "The door burst open and slammed hard against the opposite wall. A man dressed in a firefighter's uniform came in. "I began to realise he was there as some form of entertainment. I started crying and panicking. Eventually I understood he was there for me as he asked who the bride was. I decided I had to grin and bear it and go through it. It's not my preference, that kind of activity. I didn't think I was in danger, just that it would be unpleasant and not to my taste. Me storming off felt like it would be an over-reaction." The bride-to-be said 15 people had gone to the hotel, on March 22, 2024, for a prosecco and pizza party ahead of her wedding. The bride claimed she told the stripper multiple times that she did not want to patriciate. She said: "I wasn't fully appreciating what he was doing. I was just in shock. His crotch was within half a foot of my face. I was trying to communicate that I was not a willing participant. I was just cringing away from him constantly. He forced his hands between my thighs to open my legs. I resisted it but I was also frightened by now. His first move was to make me simulate giving him oral sex. "I started to comply with him because I didn't know what he was going to do next. He still had his trousers on. He had sewn a fake erection into the crotch. It felt like a bean bag. He was fiddling with the button on my shirt at one point. At my cleavage. There was more grinding against my thigh. I was trying to keep my legs together." The bride-to-be said she ran to the toilet to vomit after one of his alleged actions. She added: "He was behind me and went straight to grab both my breasts and jiggled them about. He saw some of the girls gasp. By now they were all panicking. When he was not near me I bolted towards the door. I made it to the bathroom. I was physically sick. I vomited in the toilet. I was crying hysterically and screaming and grabbing my hair." ‌ Her younger sister told police in a statement: "He put his legs over her and did a Magic Mike sort of thing. He got his waist close to her face. He was dry humping her while she was sat down. She was visibly upset and left. I think the way he stormed in gave us a fright and this triggered her. I enjoyed myself and I don't remember anything you wouldn't expect from a stripper at a hen party." Kennedy denies sexually assaulting the woman in Crieff Hydro and denies repeatedly handling the woman's thighs and private parts, attempting to kiss her, and handling her breasts and shaking them. The stripper, from Aberdeen, further denies intentionally causing the same woman to participate in sexual activity by sitting on her, seizing her by the head and restraining her. The charge alleges he induced her to drink from a penis-shaped straw, repeatedly thrust his hips towards her body, took hold of her arm and forced her to handle a fake penis, and seized her arms and placed them against his chest. The hen's middle sister, who paid around £400 to Aberdeen-based AlphaMale Strippers & Butlers to hire Kennedy, said she immediately realised it was a mistake. She told the trial: "I was nervous. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not." Asked if she had "buyer's regret" about booking a stripper, she said: "One hundred per cent." The law student, 28, said: "He stood her up at one point and reached around and grabbed her boobs aggressively. I remember it took my breath away a wee bit, because I just didn't think that was right. It was not long after that she left, she ran out the room and locked herself in the bathroom."
