No Coaching, No Problem! 'Untutored' DU Student From Manipur Cracks CA Exam In Second Attempt
With Kaiyikho Kayina Mao's success, Manipur's Senapati now has four CAs—three Maos and one Poumai Naga—marking a proud milestone in the district's academic, professional rise
In a remarkable display of self-reliance and perseverance, 30-year-old A. Kaiyikho Kayina Mao has successfully passed the Chartered Accountancy (CA) final examination on his second attempt without any coaching classes. This impressive achievement demonstrates his dedication and commitment.
Kaiyikho, the youngest son of his family, has now become the third brother in his family to attain this prestigious qualification. Following in the footsteps of his elder brother, A. Losi Kaiina Mao, who passed the CA exam in July 2022, Kaiyikho and Losi are now recognised as the first chartered accountant brothers in the state of Manipur.
Originally from Song Song village in Senapati district, Kaiyikho currently resides in Mao Tafou. He graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce at Delhi University and later pursued a post-graduate degree from Delhi School of Economics.
With unwavering support from his family and community, he prepared for the CA exams on his own. His father, Adahe Mao, who is retired from the Income Tax Department, expressed his emotional pride, attributing his son's success to divine grace and the blessings of their family, relatives, and church.
Kaiyikho is one of five siblings, with one elder brother being a CA and another an engineer. He also has two younger sisters who are currently studying. With Kaiyikho's success, there are now four chartered accountants in Senapati district—three from the Mao community and one from the Poumai Naga tribe—making this a significant accomplishment for the district.

IndiGo stands ready to resume flights to China: CEO Pieter Elbers
Agency: New Delhi, Aug 13 (PTI) IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers on Wednesday said the airline stands ready to resume direct flights between India and China. On Tuesday, people familiar with the matter said India and China are in an 'advanced stage" of negotiations to resume direct flights between the two countries soon. Elbers said IndiGo operated daily flights between India and China prior to the coronavirus pandemic. 'The airline stands ready to resume these services as soon as bilateral arrangements between the two countries allow," he said in a statement on Wednesday. Elbers also said that guided by its entrepreneurial spirit, the airline remains committed to identifying and pursuing commercially viable opportunities. IndiGo was operating daily flights from Delhi to Chengdu till February 6, 2020, and from Kolkata to Guangzhou till February 1, 2020. Direct flights were operational between the two countries till early 2020 before getting suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Both Indian and Chinese carriers had direct services. The services remained suspended in view of the eastern Ladakh border row. Air India also had flights from Delhi to Shanghai, and those were also suspended in early 2020. On January 27 this year, India and China in principle agreed to resume direct air services between the two countries as part of certain people-centric steps to 'stabilise and rebuild" the bilateral ties.
