Oppo introduces K13 Turbo series with built-in cooling and 7000 mAh battery: Everything you need to know

Oppo is set to unveil the K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro as part of its K13 series on August 18. The K13 Turbo will start at Rs 27,999, while the K13 Turbo Pro will start at Rs 37,999.
The latest smartphones are the premium additions to the K series. Both devices feature enhanced battery capacity, higher refresh rates on AMOLED displays, and a built-in cooling fan for improved heat management. The company asserts that the K13 Turbo maintains optimal performance even during intensive activities like gaming or filming with its 50 MP camera.
The K13 Turbo will be offered in two configurations, each with 8GB RAM as standard. The 128GB variant is priced at Rs 27,999, and the 256GB variant at Rs 29,999.
Meanwhile, the K13 Turbo Pro will also come in two variants, starting with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage at Rs 37,999, and a 12GB RAM option with 256GB of storage at Rs 39,999. Both models will be available in three colours: Silver Knight, Midnight Maverick, and Purple Phantom.
Both smartphones boast a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits. They each include a 5 MP camera lens with a 2 MP depth sensor and a 16 MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The Oppo K13 Turbo is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8450 processor, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. Conversely, the K13 Turbo Pro runs on a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
One of the most notable features of the K13 Turbo series is its built-in cooling fan, located at the rear. Oppo states that the fan blades are under 0.1 mm thick, capable of reaching speeds of 18,000 RPM, improving heat dissipation and airflow without affecting water resistance when used alongside cooling fins and an L-shaped duct. Both phones are claimed to be the first waterproof active cooling smartphones, with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings.
Additional features include a substantial 7,000mAh battery and support for 80W fast charging. The devices also offer 5G connectivity, USB-C audio, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Both models will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Oppo's website, and physical stores. The Oppo K13 Turbo will go on sale on August 18, while the K13 Turbo Pro will be accessible from August 15. Pre-orders are now open, with customers able to benefit from up to nine months of free EMI and an Rs 3,000 discount with selected banks.

Zepto Tweaks App Interface to Address 'Dark Pattern' Concerns; Details Here

Dark patterns have been a regulatory focus since the government, in November 2023, formally defined 13 manipulative tactics as unfair trade practices. Quick commerce platform Zepto has rolled out design changes to its app after certain features were criticised by customers as 'dark patterns', deceptive interface tactics that can push users into making unintended purchases. This makes Zepto the first major e-commerce company in India to implement such changes under heightened regulatory scrutiny. One of the biggest updates is to its free-delivery benefit. Previously, users had to manually opt in, a step that drew complaints for being cumbersome and opaque. Now, the feature is applied automatically, similar to practices on rival platforms such as Blinkit, according to a Moneycontrol report. The checkout process has also been overhauled. All charges — including delivery fees, handling charges and surcharges — are now displayed on the cart page, rather than appearing only at the payment step. The moves come after the consumer affairs ministry earlier this year warned several firms, including Zepto, Uber and Ola, to remove manipulative design elements or risk action. While Zepto has maintained its app did not employ dark patterns, users have previously highlighted issues such as hidden coupons for paid subscribers and unexpected add-on fees like 'small cart" or 'rain" charges. Dark patterns have been a regulatory focus since the government, in November 2023, formally defined 13 manipulative tactics — from false urgency and basket sneaking to confirm shaming and drip pricing — as unfair trade practices. The crackdown intensified in 2025, with the ministry holding a review meeting with top e-commerce executives in May and directing regular audits, prompt fixes, and participation in a new industry–government committee for standardised enforcement. The Central Consumer Protection Authority has issued multiple advisories, and an August 2024 report by the Advertising Standards Council of India found that 52 of the 53 most-downloaded Indian apps used at least one manipulative design feature. Zepto's changes come as it raises fresh capital. In recent weeks, it has secured Rs 400 crore from Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Rs 25 crore from MapmyIndia under a strategic partnership, and ₹7.5 crore from Elcid Investments, valuing the company at $5.9 billion. It is also in advanced talks to raise $450-500 million, which could lift its post-money valuation to around $7 billion.
