Al Hamra: A coordination meeting was held in the Wilayat of Al Hamra on Tuesday to discuss the progress made in a project for the restoration and beautification of Misfat Al Abriyeen village.
The project is aimed at enhancing the tourist attractions of the antique village located in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, A'Dakhiliyah Governorate.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Suleiman Said Al Azri, Wali of Al Hamra.
Al Azri said that Misfat Al Abriyeen Village Restoration Project reflects a common vision to revive traditional architectural and urban heritage in Oman.
He added that this project seeks to strike a balance between preserving the heritage and providing modern services and consolidate Misfat Al Abriyeen Village's position as a tourist destination and a heritage landmark of interest to local and international visitors.

Salalah: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism organizes a number of promotional programmes with the aim of attracting international tourism to enhance the tourism sector's contribution to the national economy. Khalid bin Mohammed al Azri, Director of the Department of Tourism Patterns at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that the ministry, as part of its efforts to advance cruise ships and yachts in the Sultanate of Oman, cruise ship Vasco da Gama called at the Port of Salalah with 437 passengers on board. The tourist programme, which lasted for five days, included tours to the Land of Frankincense and the most prominent heritage landmarks and tourist destinations of the Dhofar Governorate, Al Azri said noting that after the Port of Salalah the vessel's next stop will be at Port Sultan Qaboos in the Muscat Governorate. The tourist programme is in line with the Sultanate of Oman's constant efforts to enhance its position as a global tourist destination. Al Azri explained that the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism looks forward to continuing cooperation with international tourism companies to attract tourists to the Sultanate of Oman following the success it achieved in attracting cruise ship Vasco da Gama.
