Vina Morales, Gladys Reyes reveal celeb friends thought 'Cruz vs. Cruz' promo video was real
In Thursday's episode of 'Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,' Vina admitted she was initially hesitant to go through with the video, fearing that some people might actually believe it was real.
'Actually, noong sinabi nga sa 'min parang nagdadalawang-isip kasi baka marami talagang maniwala. Marami nga talaga,' she shared.
Aside from her friends from the United States, the actress also revealed that some of her celebrity friends, such as Martin Nievera, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Pops Fernandez, thought the video was real.
''Yung friends ko from US, 'yung mga hindi nakakaintindi [tinanong ako], 'Are you OK? Is everything OK?' Kasi hindi nila naiintindahan,' she said.
'Tapos biglang I had work next day, si Martin Nievera sabi niya 'Why did you do that? Don't ever do that again. I was about to call you. I was worried.' Alam mo 'yung mga ganon. Sila Ruffa [Gutierrez], sila Pops [Fernandez].'
Even Tito Boy himself admitted to believing it was legitimate at first.
Meanwhile, Gladys shared that she was happy with the netizens' reactions to their viral exchange.
'Nakakatuwa lang pong maraming naging interesado, nag-react. May mga nakarelate. Imagine 12 million views, 15 million views sa Facebook,' she said.
Gladys also jokingly clarified that the man she referred to in the video was not her real-life husband, Christopher Roxas.
'Pero gusto ko pong humingi na paumanhin sa mga akala po nila… Wala naman po akong sinasabi, sa totoo lang kasalanan niyo rin. Wala naman akong sinasabi na si Christopher [Roxas] ang tinutukoy ko doon eh. Assuming kayo eh. Hindi. Pero 'yon nga talagang si Felma, si Vina Morales, siya talaga ang sinasabi kong Felma doon,' she added.
"Cruz vs. Cruz" follows the story of the two families of Manuel Cruz. He left his original family in the Philippines to work abroad and provide for them. During his time as an OFW, he meets a woman who lures him to marry her after she gets pregnant.
Aside from Gladys and Vina, it also stars Neil Ryan Sese, Kristoffer Martin, Lexi Gonzales, Elijah Alejo, Caprice Cayetano, Pancho Magno, and more.
"Cruz vs. Cruz" is directed by Gil Tejada and will premiere on GMA Afternoon Prime on July 21 at 3:20 p.m.

'The Clash': Marian Pimenta says singing competition brought her out of her comfort zone
Even though her 'The Clash' journey ended on Sunday, Marian Pimenta still has high hopes for her singing career. The college student from Lipa, Batangas told GMA News Online in an interview that although she lost, 'If matapos po 'yung journey ko sa 'The Clash,' sa 'The Clash' lang po 'yun.' ''Di po 'ko titigil kasi ito po 'yung first competition ko and bata pa 'ko. Ang dami ko pang opportunities na pwedeng ma-grab.' Marian also said that her main intent in joining the competition was for her voice to be heard, and to prove wrong those who do not believe in her. Another goal was to show people that singers of any genre can join singing competitions. 'Na-normalize na 'yung 'The Clash' is puro biritan,' she said. 'Hindi lang laging nabirit, parang diversity, magiging open-minded po mga tao na ah, sa 'The Clash' pala, hindi lang sila natingin sa mataas ang boses or mababa, natingin sila kung ano talaga 'yung ganda ng boses mo.' 'Gusto ko po ipakita sa kanila na 'yung boses ko, kahit hindi maingay, hindi siya 'yung parang malakas, 'di loud, 'di ako super confident, may mararating pa rin po ako,' she added.
