He highlighted that the summit has become an essential platform for advancing government strategies, policies, and visions that support sustainable development and contribute to societal prosperity.
'The World Governments Summit's 12th edition strengthened governmental partnerships and promoted the exchange of best practices, which played a crucial role in advancing governmental work across nations,' Al Gergawi said.
The summit also addresses pressing challenges, focusing on stimulating human intellect and imagination, and anticipating emerging challenges while formulating effective solutions. Al Gergawi emphasized the summit's commitment to transforming challenges into opportunities, helping accelerate global progress and refining government systems worldwide.
The 12th edition of WGS was noted for its exceptional diversity, with participation from governments across all continents, bolstered by significant involvement from the private sector. This global collaboration underscored the summit's role as a driving force for future trends and innovations.
Attracting over 6,000 participants, WGS 2025—held in Dubai—focused on the theme 'Shaping Future Governments.' The event convened more than 30 heads of state and government, 80+ international and regional organizations, and 140 government delegations. The agenda featured 21 global forums, 200+ interactive sessions with over 300 speakers, and more than 30 ministerial meetings attended by over 400 ministers.
WGS 2025 also published 30 strategic reports in collaboration with international knowledge partners, further advancing its mission to inspire progress and guide future governments globally.
