Californication is a hit all over again in the United Kingdom — and it's not even the Red Hot Chili Peppers' most consistent performer on the charts in that country. The alternative rock staple is widely seen as the group's best full-length, even though it doesn't always show up on the charts. That honor typically goes to the band's Greatest Hits compilation, which seems to have permanent real estate on at least one U.K. ranking. But this frame, Californication manages to return to not one but two tallies across the pond, as fans keep buying the rock favorite in larg enough numbers to bring it back.
Californication is back on the Official Physical Albums chart, where it reappears at No. 91. That particular list tracks the bestselling full-lengths and EPs across physical formats—CDs, vinyl, even cassettes—and Californication has spent 239 weeks on that ranking so far. The set previously climbed as high as No. 5.
At the same time, the rock classic also sneaks back onto the Official Albums Sales chart. That tally, which similarly tracks purchases – but includes digital sales as well – welcomes Californication once again, though just barely. It lands at No. 97, earning its fifty-eighth frame somewhere on the roster.
Californication was released in 1999 and marked something of a creative and commercial rebirth for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The full-length helped further establish the group as one of the biggest rock bands in the world, and it didn't take long before it was cited as a critical and fan favorite. The title track was a hit on both radio and MTV, while singles like 'Scar Tissue,' 'Otherside,' and 'Around the World' pushed the album to multi-platinum success.
While Californication returns to two sales-based tallies, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Greatest Hits collection is enjoying its own success elsewhere. That set is present on two different U.K. rankings, meaning the band currently earns wins across four different charts this week.
Greatest Hits continues to perform well on the Official Albums Streaming chart, where it lifts to No. 45, just outside the top 40, and it may break into that region soon if interest holds steady. It also surges on the all-encompassing Official Albums tally, the list that factors in streaming, downloads, and physical sales. The set rises nine spots to reach a new peak this frame — and this latest turn marks its four-hundred-and-fiftieth appearance on the roster.

Aerosmith's Future Is Uncertain, But The Band's Still Charting
What does the future hold for Aerosmith? As a band, it's tough to predict. The group announced a farewell tour in May 2023, only to cancel it shortly after when lead singer Steven Tyler damaged his vocal cords. At the time, the rockers stated they'd never tour again — but just months later, Aerosmith performed together once more. While there's been no official mention of brand new music, members have hinted that nothing is impossible. It may be a long time before the world gets to hear something fresh from Aerosmith…and there's a big question mark around such a topic. Until any news is shared, the hits that once propelled the superstars to the top of the charts remain standards in the rock world, and they're still helping the band climb. This week in the United States, Aerosmith scores a top 10 album. Greatest Hits climbs three spaces on Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart, rising from No. 13 to No. 10. The ranking lists the most consumed projects in the hard rock genre, blending both sales of the full-lengths and EPs and streaming activity, which is usually especially important when it comes to singles-packed sets like this one. The same compilation also appears on two other tallies — and in both cases, it's on the rise. On the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, Greatest Hits pushes to No. 37, meaning it's a top 40 win on two of the three rankings it occupies. The project also moves up five spots to No. 149 on the Billboard 200, which ranks overall consumption across all music styles. Greatest Hits has spent nearly the same amount of time on all three of those tallies, which suggests that since its debut, it has managed to largely hold on across the three lists, like a number of other popular collections from legendary bands with catalogs full of smash singles. The compilation is now up to 88 weeks on the Billboard 200 and 93 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart. Aerosmith also scores a smash once again in America, as 'Dream On' reappears on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. This frame, the tune returns at No. 24 on the 25-spot tally. 'Dream On' has spent significantly more time on this list than Greatest Hits has on any of the rosters it currently appears on. The track has now racked up 252 frames as one of the most-streamed hard rock cuts in America — and it has previously reached No. 1.

Metallica's Self-Titled Album Reaches An Incredible Milestone
It's a big week for Metallica on the charts in the United Kingdom. The hard rock group is one of several acts from that side of the music business that maintains a constant presence on at least one or two tallies at a time, but this period is especially thrilling for the band, as Metallica returns to multiple rankings with both albums and songs. What may be regarded as perhaps its most successful full-length — at least when looking at commercial metrics — reaches an incredible milestone as it reappears. Metallica's self-titled album is a bestselling release again this week in the U.K. The decades-old set reappears on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, landing at No. 37. As it returns, Metallica hits an incredible landmark figure. As of this frame, the full-length has spent 1,000 weeks as one of the top 40 bestselling rock releases in the country. Metallica is the first release by the band of the same name to reach a four-digit-stay count on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. Only one other project by the group, Master of Puppets, has cracked triple digits, as it has thus far accrued 144 weeks on the tally. Metallica has even managed more weeks on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart than all of the band's other efforts combined. As the self-titled project reaches 1,000 weeks on the tally, it joins just three other projects that are currently present on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart that have accomplished the same showing. Nirvana's Nevermind leads the ranking with 1,453 stays. Guns N' Roses have kept Appetite for Destruction on the list for 1,222 periods, while Linkin Park's debut full-length Hybrid Theory recently joined this group, and is now up to 1,032 turns on the roster. Metallica only scores one hit album in the U.K. this week, but a pair of successful tunes help the band make itself heard. "Enter Sandman" returns to the top 10 on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, pushing from No. 13 to No. 7. The group doubles up on the tally, as "Nothing Else Matters" reappears in last place at No. 40.

Sabrina Carpenter Returns To No. 1 As Her Next Era Is About To Begin
The next era of Sabrina Carpenter's reign as one of the biggest pop stars in the world is about to kick off. The singer recently announced a new single titled "Man Child," which is slated to drop on Thursday, June 5. As the singer-songwriter heads into another chapter, the album that turned her into a pop powerhouse, Short N' Sweet, is in charge yet again. Carpenter returns to the No. 1 spot on the Official Albums chart in the United Kingdom with her full-length Short N' Sweet. The title steps up from second place to become the most consumed collection in the country. That's quite the accomplishment for a project that reaches a milestone 40 frames on the roster as it regains control of the throne. Short N' Sweet has now led the charge in the U.K. for five nonconsecutive frames. Interestingly, none of those have been in a row. The title debuted at No. 1 in early September 2024 and last ruled in March of this year. Throughout its lifetime, Carpenter's breakout project has never fallen outside of the top five. In fact, the lowest it's ever declined is No. 5 — a position it reached in February, but only for one stint. Short N' Sweet manages to succeed despite declining on most of the consumption-based rosters that help dictate where a title lands on the Official Albums chart. The set drops to No. 20 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rankings and holds in last place at No. 100 on the Official Album Downloads list. It does, however, rule the Official Albums Streaming roster, as it seems that plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music are largely keeping Carpenter's full-length going. This week, Carpenter fends off competition from legendary pop-rock band Sparks. The American group almost scores its first No. 1 with its twenty-eighth full-length Mad!, which instead settles for second place. That's still a new high point for the outfit. Last week's champion, I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen, drops from No. 1 to No. 10. Short N' Sweet is being kept afloat largely by the continued success of a number of huge hits featured on its tracklist. Carpenter scores six big songs on the U.K. charts this week, five of which come from her Grammy-winning project. "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" are the top performers, while "Taste," "Busy Woman," and "Bed Chem" follow behind.
