While Reilly hasn't publicly confirmed a specific weight loss goal or method, recent photos show that she appears toned and fit. From what she's shared, her approach seems to balance healthy eating habits with daily movement, which is more sustainable and better for long-term wellbeing than fad diets.
Reilly's approach to maintaining a healthy body at 47, 'when most women are experiencing menopause or perimenopause, is often the result of consistent lifestyle choices,' notes Giselle Prado-Wright, MD, MBA, medical director at Exert BodySculpt.
But whether it's speculation about her health or discussions of her acting, Reilly remains unfazed by outside opinions. 'I don't participate in the noise in any way. I stay out of it. The only safe place for me is in the work—and then home with my husband. Very boring,' she told Town & Country Magazine.
While many celebrities have turned to weight loss drugs like Ozempic, personal trainers or bariatric surgery, Reilly took a simpler approach. In a 2013 interview with The Telegraph, she shared insights into her daily routine, emphasizing balanced eating and staying active through hobbies she genuinely enjoys. Like her character Beth, Reilly often finds herself exercising outdoors. And she especially enjoys a long walk along the beach with her dog. 'I love hiking and horse-riding, and [I] do yoga occasionally (I'm no Gwyneth Paltrow), [it's] more for my mind than anything else,' she said to The Telegraph.
Dr. Prado-Wright notes that this trio of activities is actually a powerhouse for anyone looking to lose weight. Why? Hiking and walking are both excellent forms of low-impact cardio. 'They burn fat, improve cardiovascular health and build lower body endurance without stressing the joints,' she says.
Another perk? Walking in nature or hiking is great for stress relief, which can also help with weight loss by reducing levels of metabolism-hampering cortisol. To make the workout even better, add some yoga. Yoga complements these activities by improving flexibility, posture, core strength and body awareness. 'These three activities create a holistic approach: fat-burning movement, muscle toning and emotional regulation,' says Dr. Prado-Wright.
'I get up early even when I'm not working, but need to wake up properly before I can eat anything,' Reilly admitted. 'I make a coffee and whizz up some fruit juice (I'm a big juicer and make large batches to keep in the fridge).' She said she also sometimes adds turmeric and ginger to her juice for an extra boost.
But can coffee help with weight loss? In some cases, it can. 'Coffee is a natural stimulant that can slightly boost metabolism and increase fat oxidation—especially when consumed black or with minimal calories added,' says Dr. Prado-Wright. That means minimal or no cream or sugar.
Dr. Prado-Wright adds that caffeine may also curb appetite for some people, helping with intermittent fasting or delayed eating. While coffee can help, drinking it in moderation is best, as too much caffeine can disrupt sleep or increase stress hormones, which counteracts weight loss efforts.

The couple's bodies were discovered by a neighbour at their country home in the Aveyron region on 6 February. The prosecutor in charge of the case previously told the BBC it was murder followed by suicide and there was no evidence that another person was involved.
