"Avengers: Doomsday": Alan Cumming Just Let Slip Some Detaiils About A Fight Scene, And Now We're Even

Buzz Feed07-05-2025
Alan Cumming is coming back as Nightcrawler in Marvel's upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, and he just dropped huge hint about one of the fight scenes.
Alan joined us on CelebriTea, and during the chat, he reflected on returning as the iconic character years later, saying, "I'm 60 years old. 23 years ago, I played that superhero. I was kind of old for a superhero even then, and now I'm back doing it. That, to me, is hilarious."
He revealed he's been rehearsing for the film, and seemingly let slip a huge clue about the much anticipated fight scenes: "I'm sort of learning these fights, I'm like, 'What? Who am I fighting with?' They said, 'You're you're hitting Pedro Pascal against the head or something."
Pedro Pascal is set to play Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will be in cinemas this July.
While Marvel hasn't confirmed the details of any such battle, Alan's comments suggest that we might see a clash between Nightcrawler and Mr. Fantastic in Avengers: Doomsday.

Alan Tudyk Says He Got Dropped From ‘I, Robot' Publicity After Testing Higher Than Will Smith With Test Screening Audiences: ‘I Was Very Upset'

Alan Tudyk recently appeared on the 'Toon'd In with Jim Cummings' podcast and claimed he was dropped from the marketing of 2004's 'I, Robot' after it was discovered in test screenings that he was actually testing higher with audiences than leading man Will Smith. Tudyk appeared in the film as the robot Sonny via motion capture and voice acting. Axing him from the movie's publicity meant there were (and still are) people who have no idea he starred in the movie, the actor said. 'A lot of people did not know I did Sonny the Robot in 'I, Robot,' and there is a reason,' Tudyk said. 'They were doing test audiences for the movie and they score the characters in this kind of test screening. I got word back: 'Alan, you are testing higher than Will Smith.' And then I was gone. I was done. There was no publicity and my name was not mentioned.' 'I was like, 'Wait, nobody is going to know I'm in it!' I put a lot into [that performance]. I had to move like a robot. At the time I was very upset.' Variety has reached out to Smith's representative for comment. 'I, Robot,' directed by Alex Proyas, stars Smith as a Chicago police detective in 2035 investigating the alleged suicide of the founder of a robotics company. The corporation's highly-intelligent robots are utilized for public service jobs, but Smith's detective is convinced one of these robots, Tudyk's Sonny, murdered the founder. The supporting cast includes Bridget Moynahan, Bruce Greenwood, James Cromwell and Chi McBride. Outside of Jar Jar Binks in the 'Star Wars' prequels and Gollum in 'The Lord of the Rings' movies, motion capture technology and performances were still relatively new in Hollywood when Tudyk played Sonny in 'I, Robot.' He would go on to use the technology again years later when he played the droid K-2SO in the 'Star Wars' movie 'Rogue One,' a role he reprised in the Disney+ prequel series 'Andor.' Sebastian Stan Signs on for Bold New Take on FRANKENSTEIN — GeekTyrant

Sebastian Stan is set to bring Mary Shelley's legendary monster back to life in another new film adaptation of Frankenstein . The Golden Globe winner, who just reprised his role as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in Marvel's Thunderbolts , is currently filming his return for Avengers: Doomsday , hitting theaters on December 18, 2026. This Frankenstein project comes from acclaimed Romanian director Radu Jude, the mind behind the award-winning Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn and Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World . Known for pushing boundaries, Jude has already made waves in the festival circuit. Interestingly, the collaboration began because Stan reached out to Jude himself. Speaking to Cultura la dubă, Jude revealed: 'Sebastian contacted me a while ago, he said he would like to collaborate, but I had no idea. Finally, I thought, while I was working on the sound for Dracula , that I could propose a film that would start from the reality of the CIA prisons in Romania, from 20 years ago, and combine these ideas with another cinematic myth, that of the Frankenstein monster.' Jude added: 'Sebastian said yes, so I started writing the script, but it will take some time. I really appreciate him, he's a great actor and he seems like a very curious guy, so I said, 'Why not?'' That combination of gritty real-world history and gothic horror could make this one of the most original Frankenstein adaptations in years. Before this project takes shape, Jude will premiere his Dracula adaptation at the 78th Locarno Film Festival, fresh off winning the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at Berlin for Kontinental '25 . A CIA prison thriller fused with the tragedy of Frankenstein's monster? That certainly sounds interesting.
