The US State Department has authorised a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case for
Turkiye
to purchase AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles and related elements of logistics and program support for an estimated cost of USD 22 million.
In a statement, the US State Department said, "The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Republic of Turkiye of AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles and related elements of logistics and program support for an estimated cost of USD 225 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today."
According to the statement, the Turkish government had requested to purchase 53 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM); and six AIM- 120C-8

The following non-MDE items will be included: AMRAAM containers and support equipment; Common Munitions Built-in-Test (BIT) Reprogramming Equipment (CMBRE); spare parts, consumables and accessories, repair and return support; weapons system support and software; classified software delivery and support; classified publications and technical documentation; transportation support; studies and surveys; US Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support. According to the statement, the estimated total cost is USD 225 million.
In a statement, the US State Department said, "This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security of the United States by improving the security of a NATO Ally that continues to be a force for political and economic stability in Europe."

"This proposed sale will provide Turkiye with a critical air defence capability to assist in defending its homeland and US personnel stationed there. Turkiye will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region," it added.
According to the statement, the principal contractor will be RTX Corporation, located in Tucson, AZ. At this time, the US government is not aware of any offset agreement proposed in connection with this potential sale. Any offset agreement will be defined in negotiations between the purchaser and the contractor.
In a statement, the US State Department said, "Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional US Government or contractor representatives to Turkiye. There will be no adverse impact on US defence readiness as a result of this proposed sale."

The proposed tariff increase by the Trump administration is likely to impact the engineering exports which are about $5 billion under this head," the EEPC India Chairman said.

The FDA inspection revealed concerning issues, including fungal growth on food items, storage near stagnant water pools, and expired products on the premises. Additionally, several items were discovered placed on damp, unsanitary flooring. The temperature-controlled storage facilities failed to comply with required standards. In response, the company has stated it will implement measures to address these deficiencies. Zepto Dharavi warehouse The food safety licence will stay suspended until Zepto shows it meets all required safety standards. "Till the contraventions are cleared, the facility will remain shut," joint commissioner(Food) Mangesh Mane said, noting that additional checks will be conducted at other Zepto facilities and similar quick-delivery services. A Zepto representative responded, "...We have initiated an internal review and are working closely with the authorities concerned to ensure full and swift compliance." India to need 1 million AI professionals by 2026, says report amid tech education overhaul
India is poised to see a massive surge in demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) professionals, with projections estimating the need for one million skilled individuals by 2026, according to the report India's AI Revolution: A Roadmap to Viksit Bharat, released by the Union Ministry of Electronics & the country aspires to become a USD 23-USD 35 trillion economy by 2047, higher education--particularly in engineering--is undergoing a fundamental transformation to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market shaped by AI, automation, and interdisciplinary innovation. Engineering education is at the heart of this shift. According to the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the number of approved B. Tech seats for the 2024-25 academic year has risen to 14.9 lakh--a nearly 16 per cent increase over four years. This growth is largely driven by a more than 50 per cent rise in seats for Computer Science and allied streams such as AI/ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Blockchain--mirroring strong industry demand.
