The 'Gangubai Kathiawad' actress wore a mesmerising handicraft saree with hand embroidery striking the perfect balance between minimal glamour amalgamated with tradition. Paithani saree is a typical textile that hails from the medieval town of Paithan near Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The origin of the textile can be traced to the 2nd century BC. During that time, it was said to be made of pure gold wire, cotton and silk. However, in the contemporary era, these sarees are spun or hadwoven with Indian bred silk, puri zardozi work and more.
'To create a genuine Paithani sari, around 500 grams of silk threads and another 250 grams of zari threads are utilised for a regular six-yard piece, while the nine-yard iterations use more raw material and can weigh up to 900 grams,' reported Vogue India in 2019.
Nauvari saree style is entrenched in the history of Marathas. Nau translates to nine and vari means yards. This nine-yards of dhoti style saree was worn by Maratha queens so that they could move freely, ride horses and wield weapons during battles. This is a sign of a warrior style saree.

'Handwoven by the talented artisans of Tulsi Weaves, her Paithani from the Yeola town of Maharashtra took 75 days to make. Styled in the classic Nauvari drape, the saree is the epitome of traditional workmanship and contemporary elegance,' captioned AJSK in their post about this custom creation. Yeola is a town in Maharashtra that is famous for its Paithani saree creations.
Doing what she does best, Bhatt opted for her understated muted tones for her makeup aesthetic, romanticised the the heritage and traditional value of the garment with the gajras and accentuated the look with small light green bindi.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Shabana Azmi, wife of Javed Akhtar, shared the snaps from the award ceremony, featuring the renowned lyricist accepting the award from the dignitaries from the Russian House. While sharing the photos, the actress wrote, 'Another big honour for Javed Akhtar as he receives the Dostoevsky Star Award! This year, the Russian House is deeply honoured to present the Dostoevsky Star Award to the renowned poet, lyricist, and public intellectual Mr. Javed Akhtar, to recognise his remarkable influence on cultural dialogue and literary heritage.' Javed Akhtar, considered the legendary screenwriter for the Indian cinema industry, has won numerous awards during his decades-long career. These include the National Award for Best Lyrics, the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1999, and the Padma Bhushan in 2007. Earlier this year, Javed Akhtar was conferred the Lifetime Achievement award at the convocation ceremony of Whistling Woods International, a renowned film institute.
