Spain draws Sweden in semifinals of Women's Nations League. Germany gets France

NYON, Switzerland (AP) — World champion Spain will continue its defense of the UEFA Women's Nations League title against Sweden in the semifinals after the draw was made on Friday.
Spain will host the first leg on Oct. 24 and the return is four days later in Sweden.

Germany hosts France first in the other semifinal played on the same dates. France was beaten by Spain 2-0 in Seville in the inaugural final last year.
The 2025 final is scheduled over two legs, on Nov. 28 and Dec. 2.
All four teams advanced to the finals stage by finishing atop groups that started in February and finished this week — effectively as warmups for the Women's European Championship. Only France won six straight games.
First, all four head to the 16-team Euro 2025 that starts on July 2 in Switzerland.
Germany and Sweden are in the same Euros group. France is in a tough group with the past two European champions, England and the Netherlands.
Spain, the 2023 Women's World Cup winner, starts its Euro 2025 campaign against Portugal on July 3 in Bern.

Tuchel slams England's lack of 'seriousness' in win over Andorra
Thomas Tuchel slammed England's attitude and accused them of a lack of "seriousness" during Saturday's lacklustre 1-0 win against minnows Andorra. Tuchel's side were booed at the final whistle in Barcelona after Harry Kane's 50th minute tap-in saved England from a humiliating draw with a team ranked 173rd in the world. I didn't like the body language and I think it was not what the occasion needed." England sit top of Group K as they progress towards next year's World Cup, yet they will need to improve signficantly to make an impact in the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Tuchel was relieved to secure the victory after Andorra pushed for a late leveller, but he conceded his team had played with a lack of energy. "In the end we played with fire, honestly. I felt it almost like in a cup game where the favourite does not smell the danger," he said. Advertisement "I didn't feel a team that is aware it's only 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier because we were not happy with ourselves. "I'm not blaming them. I even feel like they felt 'OK, we're not happy and this is stuck today, it will not happen today'. "Step by step the energy dropped. We needed exactly the opposite but we couldn't deliver and so we got away with a win." - 'The booing is ok' - Tuchel had admitted before the game that it might be hard to crush Andorra by a huge margin because his players were tired after a draining domestic campaign. Nine of England's squad will jet off to the Club World Cup after Tuesday's friendly against Senegal in Nottingham. "We will not stop to encourage them and make clear after we have a proper look at the match what we want from them," he said. England supporters made up the majority of the crowd at the RCDE Stadium and their displeasure was audible throughout a limp game that felt more like a pre-season friendly. Tuchel could not blame them for expressing their frustration, with jeers for the team mixed with abusive songs about British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. "The booing is OK." "They were underwhelmed and not happy with our performance, especially how we ended the first half, so I don't think we can blame them for that," he said. (AP) — Maddox Mihalakis drove in three runs, including two with a go-ahead single in the seventh inning, and Arizona defeated North Carolina 10-8 on Saturday, forcing a deciding game in the Chapel Hill Super Regional. Game 3 is Sunday. The Wildcats trailed 8-6 in the seventh inning but rallied with four runs. With two on and one out, Brendan Summerhill doubled down the left field line to score one run while Easton Breyfogle advanced to third. Breyfogle then scored on a wild pitch by Walter McDuffie to tie the score. After a couple of walks loaded the bases, Mihalakis drove in two with a single to right field off of Folger Boaz. Tony Pluta (3-0) pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. McDuffie (3-2) took the loss. The Tar Heels trailed 6-4 in the top of the seventh before scoring four runs to take the lead. Tyson Bass hit a three-run home run and Jackson Van De Brake drew a bases-loaded walk. Tommy Splaine hit a two-run home run for Arizona.
