Some couples surprise each other with flowers, a favorite snack, or maybe tickets to a concert. However, if you're married to a dog lover, that surprise might come with four legs and a wagging tail. That's exactly what happened in a TikTok video when a foster mom decided to bring home not one but two senior foster dogs, leaving her husband adorably blindsided and the internet truly delighted.
Dog dad reacts to foster mom surprising him with senior foster dogs in video
Lisa, a longtime fosterer and TikTok creator, recently shared a video that's quickly going viral for all the right reasons. Known for her dedication to rescuing senior canines, she has fostered over 100 pups to date.
On this particular day, she tells viewers she's at Muttville, a senior dog rescue based in San Francisco. While her husband believes she's simply picking up Thumper — one of their current senior fosters — Lisa is secretly there to bring home a second canine named Corduroy.
She explains to her followers that this will be foster number 101, and that her husband (affectionately referred to as 'dog dad') has no idea she's returning home with another four-legged companion. Corduroy, whom she jokingly calls a 'house hippo,' seems perfectly content as he hops into the back seat with Thumper for the ride home.
When Lisa arrives home, her husband is visibly caught off guard. Expecting her to return with just one dog, he breaks into a smile as he spots Corduroy trailing behind. 'Thought you were coming back with one, came back with two?' he says, clearly surprised but amused. She then introduces Corduroy to him, and the new addition is warmly welcomed with lots of pets.
The response on TikTok was overwhelmingly positive. Many viewers were touched by the easygoing love between the foster mom, her husband, and their growing pack. One person pointed out how 'Corduroy's tail wagging ferociously' showed just how excited he was to join the family.
Another described the husband's reaction as 'the biggest green flag ever,' calling him the kind of partner anyone would be lucky to have. Several commenters shared how moved they were, with one writing, 'This is what real kindness looks like.'

Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan Reprise Iconic Mother-Daughter Characters in ‘Freakier Friday'

Fast-forward 22 years from the last time Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) traded bodies with her then-teenage daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan, who looks back in top form) in Freaky Friday. Now all grown up, Anna is a bride-to-be with a daughter of her own, Harper (Julia Butters), and an about-to-be stepdaughter, Lily (Sophia Hammons). Then, oops, it happens again, but this time it's a four-way swap — Anna switches with Harper and Tess finds herself in the teenage body of Lily, who's horrified to find she's now a grandmother. Tess decides the only way to reverse the spell is for Harper (in Anna's body) to go back and meet Anna's first love Jake (the still-dreamy Chad Michael Murray). As expected, things go hilariously wrong. Freakier Friday is fun for the whole family, whether you're seeing it out of nostalgia for the 2003 original or are new to the palpable comedic chemistry of Curtis and Lohan. | In theaters Friday, Aug. 8 PG Solve the daily Crossword

SoCal store boasting Labubu inventory ransacked by thieves

The frenzy for Labubus seems to have reached the point of burglary. A store in La Puente that has been boasting its stock of the adorable monsters and other merchandise was broken into on Wednesday morning, according to social media posts. The viral sensation known as Labubus may look like a child's toy, but they are highly sought after by adults and, apparently, thieves. One Stop Sales shared video footage on their Instagram page of the burglars breaking into the store on Glendora Avenue around 1:30 a.m. The masked thieves can be seen carrying away several boxes. The store shared surveillance footage of a white Toyota Tacoma believed to be involved in the burglary. 'Today we got robbed, and they took all of our inventory trashed our store,' the store owners said in an Instagram post. 'We are still in shock.' It's unclear how many Labubu boxes the thieves made off with, but the store had been promoting its inventory on social media in the days ahead of the break-in. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment. One Stop Sales, which opened in May, sells plush animals and other items in 'blind boxes,' which are sealed items that include collectible pendants or figurines that can be stylized as fashion accessories. The storefront boasts Labubus, which are exclusively sold by the Chinese-based store Pop Mart. The store also sells clothing and other items for collectors to style their Labubu pendants. Last year, K-pop superstar Lisa posted a video on Instagram of her hugging a large Labubu plush doll. The doll boasted accessories, including a handbag and pendants. A single Labubu character retails for $28 and often quickly sell out when made available online. But Labubus can sell for double or triple their price on the secondhand market due to their popularity. NBC reports that a life-size Labubu sold for $170,000 at a Beijing auction in June.
