Did you know Aamir Khan once REFUSED to work with Madhuri Dixit in a song for THIS reason?

In 1990, the blockbuster film *Dil*, starring Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit, faced a hurdle when Aamir hesitated to perform the song "Dum Duma Dum." He felt intimidated by Madhuri's exceptional dancing skills, fearing he would be overshadowed. Director Indra Kumar eventually persuaded him, and the film became a massive success, solidifying both actors' careers. Back in the golden era of the 1990s, when Madhuri Dixit ruled the silver screen and Aamir Khan was emerging as the thinking man's heartthrob, one blockbuster almost lost a key moment—because of a dance number. At the heart of the story is Dil (1990), a film that became the year's biggest hit, but not without some behind-the-scenes drama. What made Aamir hesitate to shake a leg with Bollywood's dancing queen? The reason might just surprise you. The film in question is Dil, released in 1990, featuring Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles. A runaway success, Dil emerged as the highest-grossing film of the year and played a pivotal role in catapulting both actors to greater stardom. Its box office triumph marked a turning point in their careers. Aamir Khan made his acting debut with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988, while Madhuri Dixit rose to fame the same year with the blockbuster Tezaab. Their first collaboration came with Dil in 1990, a film that not only became a massive hit but also took both their careers to new heights. Dil remains a beloved classic, not just for its engaging storyline but also for its memorable soundtrack. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Use an AI Writing Tool That Actually Understands Your Voice Grammarly Install Now Undo One interesting bit of trivia from the film's making involves Aamir Khan initially refusing to perform the song Dum Duma Dum with Madhuri Dixit. Aamir later revealed that he was hesitant because Madhuri was such a phenomenal dancer, and he felt he would be outshone. He jokingly described it as a situation of 'Aa bail mujhe maar. ' It was only after much persuasion from director Indra Kumar that Aamir finally agreed to do the song. Dil, starring Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, and Saeed Jaffrey, was a massive box office success. Released in 1990, the film earned around Rs 20 crores, making it the highest-grossing film of the year and a turning point in the careers of its lead actors.

Rachi Sharma takes inspiration from Shraddha Kapoor from Stree for her role in Aami Dakini

The much-anticipated show Aami Dakini is all set to keep viewers on the edge of their seats with its gripping story. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Kolkata, the show marks a return to spine-chilling storytelling for the channel after the iconic show, Aahat. The show features Hitesh Bharadwaj as Ayaan, Sheen Das as Dakini, and Ranchi Sharma as Meera. Meera stepping into the layered character of Meera, Ranchi Sharma reveals how she found inspiration in Shraddha Kapoor 's performance in Stree to shape her portrayal. She says, 'When I watched Shraddha in Stree, I was definitely captivated—there was a mystery to her, layered with a quiet emotional pull. That performance lingered with me. But when it came to Meera, while I could relate to the essence of that character, I knew the emotional landscape was different. Shraddha's expressions, her silences, her rhythm—they were inspiring, but Meera demanded a different kind of intensity. I drew from her restraint and calm, but I had to push in a direction that was bolder, rawer, and a bit more grounded in grief and strength. So yes, I referenced her, but only as a starting point. From there, I had to find Meera's unique emotional pitch.' Recently, in an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Sheen Das, who plays a Dakini in the show, opened up about her role. She shared, 'I've never done something like this on TV before. It's my first time doing something like this for TV. The look is very bold, and it justifies the role. During her visit, President Murmu is also scheduled to interact with students at the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities on Friday. On June 21, she is expected to participate in International Yoga Day celebrations at the state police line grounds. In the light of her visit, several traffic diversions were enforced across Dehradun. However, traffic on Thursday evening remained severely congested. "The advisory for June 19 was to be in effect till 4 pm, but it seems the President's arrival was delayed. Traffic was at a standstill even after 5:30 pm. The 25-minute journey from Behl Chowk to Malsi took over an hour. We were stuck at Dilaram Chowk for nearly 30 minutes," said one commuter. Residents said that there were unannounced road closures as well. "Subhash Road was closed near Crossroad Mall, even though the advisory didn't mention it. The alternate route via Supply Road was also heavily jammed. There needs to be a separate VIP route for these events," the commuter added. Besides Rajpur Road, other key routes such as EC Road, Canal Road and Subhash Road saw prolonged congestion, worsened by evening rain. Superintendent of police (traffic) Lokjeet Singh said, "A D-3 protocol is in place for VVIP movements, which requires certain diversions to be implemented three hours in advance." Officials said that traffic flow resumed later in the evening, aided by additional police deployment to streamline flow.
