The jaw-dropping numbers behind Jeff Bezos' wedding in Italy
How much does the wedding cost?
The actual cost of the wedding is unknown, but Venice regional governor Luca Zaia originally estimated the cost between 20 million-30 million euros, or $23 million-$34 million in a June 24 Reuters article. After a venue change because of security concerns, the estimate jumped to 40 million-48 million euros, or $46.5 million-$55.6 million.

Where will the wedding take place?
Bezos and Sanchez arrived at the Aman Venice hotel on June 25. An evening welcome ceremony for the wedding was held June 26 in the cloisters of Madonna dell'Orto, a medieval church in the central area of Cannaregio.
The date and venue for the ceremony are still confidential, but the main party is currently planned for June 28 at the Venetian Arsenal (Aresnale di Venezia in Italian), a historic site in the eastern part of the city.
Venice has been struggling with over-tourism and environmental preservation for years, and protestors have been showing up this week to voice concerns about the impact of such a large-scale, high-profile event on the city.
Who will be at the wedding?
Around 90 private jets are estimated to Treviso and Venice airports this week, according to Zaia. So far, the guest list includes celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian and Ivanka Trump.
Lauren Sanchez's engagement ring cost
According to People magazine, Sanchez's stunning diamond rock is estimated to be about 30 carats and likely costs as much as $5 million. Sanchez has shown off the ring while attending events, including the Living Legends of Aviation Awards.
The Knot, a wedding planning website, estimates that the average U.S. wedding ring cost is $5,200.

Yet after Roar hitmaker Katy, 40, was said to have already told pals their relationship was as good as done - and reports claimed the Lord Of the Rings alum "won't win her back" - the pair appear to be broken up for good. After lapping up the celebration vibes at Jeff and Lauren's the three-day celebration, which saw the happy couple said I Do at the stunning San Giorgio Maggiore monastery in Venice, Orlando, 48, hit the picturesque streets of the Italian city with Sydney, 27. It came after she was spotted leaving the Friday nuptials donning a pastel dress and skyscraper heels. For their outings, she stuck to her summer style with a plunging black froral midi dress. She paired her sleeveless attire with red kitten toe heels and added a pair of sunglasses as she strolled outside next to the Pirates of the Caribbean alum. Sydney left her blonde hair in loose waves over her shoulders but kept a serious expression as they headed out in the sunshine alongside each other, but with the rest of a wider group. The In The Vault star is in a similar romantic position to fellow big screen star Orlando, after having split with her fiance of seven years just months ago. Sydney and Jonathan Davino, who got engaged in 2022, have chosen to spend time apart after their relationship hit the rocks, according to insiders. The pair were part of the 200-strong A List contingent heading to Venice for the wedding - and clearly eager to explore the European hotspot in mode depth. Heartbroken Katy Perry told pals in January that Orlando Bloom relationship was OVER - as star removes engagement ring Other VIPs including Oprah Winfrey and Bezos' stepfather Mike Bezos were snapped leaving their hotels, while security was tight across the city. At least 95 private jets are said to have landed for the occasion. Their wedding venue was recently revealed as an "open air theatre" on the island, while a series of jaw-droppingly pricey hotel suites were also booked out for the happy couple and their guests. Meanwhile, Orlando was seen embracing Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum Kim Kardashian, 44, at the three-day celebration. It came after he was caught "ogling" the Skims founder and Hulu Tv star in an image taken on a night out with popstar Katy, 40. LETTING SLIP It has previously been claimed that Orlando's former fiance Katy - who is on tour in Australia - had told her mates their engagement was over at the start of the year, before removing her engagement ring. A source close to the couple said at the time: 'Katy confided in friends at the start of the year that their relationship was as good as done. 'They decided to hold off on announcing anything in case things improved between them, because they are desperate to stay together for the sake of their daughter. "But they have spent barely any time together this year, with Katy on tour and Orlando working on his upcoming film Bucking Fastard in Dublin. 'She knew that taking off her engagement ring would send a clear message. 'It's been a hard year so far. They wanted to wait until the tour is over before they made their split official, although Katy has grown tired of the situation.' The couple started dating in 2016 and got engaged three years later. However, The Sun understands they had difficult conversations about their future over Christmas and in January but struggled to make a firm decision. Reps for the couple refused to comment when approached about their separation in February and again this week. ALL CHANGE Last week, The Sun reported how Orlando and Katy held crisis talks to try to save their relationship after leading increasingly separate lives. American news website TMZ then said Brit-born Orlando would be 'the life of the party' and that he would be hitting 'the dancefloor hard' when he arrives in Italy for the nuptials. An insider said: 'No one has decided it's definitely the end of the road for Katy and Orlando. 'They both love each other, but they have been living different lives for at least a year and in different mindsets.' It's understood Orlando and Katy are planning on reuniting on July 4 when there is a break in her touring schedule. The insider added: 'They have barely been together for a decent amount of time, without distractions, for many, many months.' Tensions within their relationship also reached boiling point after Katy's flight to space on board Jeff's Blue Origin. Katy, along with Lauren and Gayle King, were hit with a public backlash and those close to Orlando said he had warned Katy about taking part. They said: 'From day one, Orlando didn't think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face a backlash.' 11 Sydney was seen leaving the Italian nuptials in a flowing floral dress Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 11 Orlando, 48, shared an embrace with Kim Kardashian ahead of the ceremony Credit: BackGrid 11 Mum of one Katy is said to have told pals their relationship was over earlier this year Credit: Getty

Newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez seen for first time without £3m ring
Billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his new wife Lauren Sanchez stepped out in Venice for the first time since getting married, amid protests from critical anti-capitalists and locals Newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have been spotted for the first time since tying the knot, albeit without Lauren's huge £3million diamond wedding ring. The happy couple marked the third day of their huge wedding celebration this morning, stepping out in Venice together. They were all smiles as they waved and posed for photos following their 200-guest ceremony, in which they exchanged vows in front of their family and famous pals. But although the new Mrs Bezos debuted her estimated 35 carat diamond ring last night, she was without it today as she made an appearance in the Italian city. Former journalist Sanchez, 55, and her 61-year-old Amazon founder groom had their ceremony on San Giorgio Maggiore Island yesterday (Friday, June 27). The billionaires were surrounded by high-profile guests, with the Kardashians, Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom and Ivanka Trump among some of the attendees. Rania Al Abdullah, the Queen of Jordan was also in attendance, alongside supermodels and actors. Guests were welcomed to the ceremony by a gospel choir, with the singers performing a rendition of Whitney Houston's Higher Love as the bride and groom entered. The lavish celebration drew criticism from locals, who threatened to gatecrash the wedding, and displayed messages of disapproval in the city's St Mark's Square. But the show went on, and the couple are gearing up for their third and final evening of celebrations tonight at the Arsenale. Although most celebrity guests partied into the early hours of Saturday morning, some slipped away early, with Kim and Khloe Kardashian already at the airport to depart the country first thing Saturday morning. Described by some as the 'wedding of the century', eyebrows were raised when Lauren's gift to her guests was branded "shameless". While Jeff gifted his guests some luxe ViBi Venezia blue velvet slippers, Sanchez pushed the brand that made her husband a billionaire, handing out black open-toe slippers from Amazon. But one journalist was less than impressed with the whole affair, branding Lauren "tacky". Katie Couric waded in on the last post from Jack Schlossberg, the writer famous for being the nephew of John F. Kennedy Jr. and the daughter of Caroline Kennedy. Schlossberg appeared to have poked fun at Bezos and Sánchez about their wedding celebration in Venice, Italy, this week. He reposted the cover of Vogue on Friday which showed Lauren in her white lace wedding dress. Schlossberg captioned the photo: "Like I said … vogue." Lauren beamed in the snap, while wearing her dress which featured long sleeves and a figure hugging shape. The floral lace hugged her hips before fanning out at the knees in a mermaid style. Couric then left a comment where she called the bride "tacky" in a cruel dig. "Welcome to the eighties — when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back," she wrote. Schlossberg snapped back, replying: "Let's bring back scrunchies." Other Instagram Another added: "Spot on! Money can't buy you class." A third wrote: "I am here for this kind of commentary."
