A painting stolen from an Italian museum is found in England, but its new owner wants to keep it
LONDON — A 16th-century painting stolen more than 50 years ago has been found — and is now at the center of a custody battle between a widow in England and a small Italian museum.
'Madonna and Child' by Antonio Solario was taken in 1973 from the civic museum in the town of Belluno in the Dolomite mountains of northern Italy. Sometime later it was bought by Baron de Dozsa and taken to his Tudor manor house in eastern England, according to Christopher Marinello, a lawyer who specializes in recovering stolen and looted artworks. It is now in the possession of Barbara de Dozsa, the late baron's ex-wife.

Feds search Kentucky estate owned by SoHo crypto torture suspects
A Kentucky estate owned by two men accused of torturing an Italian man in SoHo over a Bitcoin password was raided by a team of investigators Tuesday. New York City cops joined federal officials and Kentucky State Police to go through a property belonging to cryptocurrency investor John Woeltz and his associate William Duplessie, according to TMZ. Investigators reportedly have two warrants for an 'active and ongoing investigation' involving the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Woeltz, 37, and Duplessie, 33, are accused of luring 28-year-old Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan from Italy to Manhattan, then violently keeping him under their control for 17 days before he seemingly escaped their downtown townhouse bloodied and wearing no shoes. Some photos obtained by TMZ call into question how much resistance Caturan offered at certain points in the ordeal. TMZ said one image showed him unrestrained and seemingly using crack cocaine in what appeared to be a party atmosphere. But prosecutors claim Carturan's wrists were bound and he was subjected to 'beatings including but not limited to the use of electric wires to shock him' as well as being assaulted with a firearm that was sometimes pointed at his head. The alleged assailants are also accused of using a saw to cut his leg and urinating on him. Carturan said he was relieved of his passport and electronic devices upon arrival on the Prince Street property. He escaped when one of his captors left him alone to get a laptop so he could enter the passport the suspects wanted. Woeltz is known as the 'Crypto King of Kentucky,' according to TMZ.

LAS VEGAS -- LAS VEGAS (AP) — Khaby Lame, the world's most popular TikTok personality with millions of followers, has left the U.S. after being detained by immigration agents in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa. The Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was detained Friday at Harry Reid International Airport but was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed in a statement. Lame arrived in the U.S. on April 30 and 'overstayed the terms of his visa,' the ICE spokesperson said. The Associated Press sent a message seeking comment Tuesday to the email address listed on Lame's Instagram account. He has not publicly commented on his detainment. His detainment and voluntary departure from the U.S. comes amid President Donald Trump's escalating crackdown on immigration, including raids in Los Angeles that sparked days of protests against ICE, as the president tests the bounds of his executive authority. A voluntary departure — which was granted to Lame — allows those facing removal from the U.S. to avoid a deportation order on their immigration record, which could prevent them from being allowed back into the U.S. for up to a decade. The 25-year-old rose to international fame during the pandemic without ever saying a word in his videos, which would show him reacting to absurdly complicated 'life hacks." He has over 162 million followers on TikTok alone. The Senegal-born influencer moved to Italy when he was an infant with his working class parents and has Italian citizenship. His internet fame quickly evolved. He signed a multi-year partnership with designer brand Hugo Boss in 2022. In January, he was appointed as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

(NewsNation) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reportedly detained the most-followed creator on TikTok on Friday. Khaby Lame, whose full name is Seringe Khabane Lame, is an Italian-Senegalese influencer. He was detained for immigration violations at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to USA Today.
