1922: A 20-year-old Louis Armstrong arrived at Illinois Central Station from New Orleans — but he wasn't sure he made the right decision.
100 years ago, Louis Armstrong arrived in Chicago. What happened next would change jazz forever.'Anybody watching me closely could have easily seen that I was a country boy,' he wrote in his first memoir, 'My Life in New Orleans.' 'I had a million thoughts as I looked at all those people waiting for taxi cabs. … As I waved goodbye I thought to myself: 'Huh. I don't think I am going to like this old town.''
Thank heavens, then, that Joe 'King' Oliver — his idol — extended him an invitation to play second cornet in his band here. The rest, as they say, is history — and thus began the years, 1922 to 1929, that Armstrong would later call 'some of (his) finest days.'
1973: Lincoln Mall held its grand opening, becoming the first enclosed mall in the far south suburbs of Chicago. It predated by nearly three years the opening of Orland Square in Orland Park.

Frank Thomas and Robin Ventura — in the middle of the batting order — had six hits. Thomas broke a 4-4 tie with a game-winning solo home run.

Kourtney Kardashian On Rocky Not Wearing A Vest On Boat
This weekend, Kourtney Kardashian Barker took to Instagram to share a collection of moments from throughout the summer. Among them were images of her boating with her 1-year-old son, Rocky, whom she shares with husband Travis Barker. Kourtney, of course, also shares a daughter, Penelope, 13, and sons Mason, 15, and Reign, 10, with her ex Scott Disick. One image showed Kourtney sitting in the back of the boat in what appears to be a bikini with a towel wrapped around her waist. Rocky rested on her chest, wearing a simple black T-shirt and tan bottoms. "Food for the soul ✨," Kourtney wrote in the post, which included other moments of her and her family in nature, including a clip of Kourtney jumping from a cliff and into water while others were swimming below. In the comments, many viewers immediately expressed concern over Rocky not wearing a life jacket. "No life jacket???" one comment with dozens of likes read in part. "Your son needs a life jacket!" another said as a third person reminded Kourtney that it's better to be "safe than sorry." "Put a life jacket on that kid for f sakes," someone wrote, as another called their actions "very dangerous." "C'mon Kourt," one more added. "You both should be wearing on that boat should be." Kourtney later took to Instagram to address the situation and thank fans for "looking out." Sharing a picture of a new infant life vest, she wrote, "Update: bought a life vest that fits!" She also admitted that she "honestly didn't think about some of the dangers" of boating before taking her son out on the water without proper equipment. "Thank you for making me aware," she continued, "and hopefully this helps make other mommies aware of the dangers of certain types of boating without a life vest 🫶🙏" That's not the only situation that Kourtney addressed in the comment section, either. She also responded to ongoing pregnancy speculation, which kicked up again this past week while participating in a funny video with her sisters, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and their mom Kris Jenner. During the video, Kourtney stood behind her sisters, with just her head sticking out, leading some to think she was intentionally "hiding" to conceal a baby bump. When a fan wrote her about the rumor, Kourtney replied she's simply "eating pancakes and jumping off cliffs 🤙." You can see that comment here:

Donna D'Errico is in the best shape of her life and isn't afraid to show off her hard work. After the 30th anniversary of her debut on the cover of Playboy, D'Errico figured she'd reach out to the publication to see if it had interest in featuring a longtime fan favorite. Advertisement The 'Baywatch' actress was shocked to learn that not only was Playboy not excited about her pitch, but the adult content outlet encouraged her to send images for possible social media inclusion. D'Errico, who recently launched the first celebrity artificial intelligence chat experience, Call Donna D, was first featured on the cover in September 1995 as Playboy's Playmate of the Month. Reveling in success as an OnlyFans star and posing in the nude for a Peta campaign, D'Errico attempted to get back on the pages of the famous magazine. 'I actually contacted Playboy,' D'Errico exclusively told Fox News Digital. 'I contacted Playboy because I was like, 'You know, I'm kind of feeling myself.
