iPhone 17e display technology
According to The Elec report, the iPhone 17e could launch next year with the same OLED panel as the iPhone 14 model to manage the lower pricing of the smartphone. A similar display was also used for iPhone 16e. As of now, the iPhone 16e model features a 6.1-inch OLED display with Face ID, which works quite well considering the price. Additionally, the smartphone also powers the latest A18 chip, offering all the latest features and AI support.

The report also highlighted that BOE and Samsung will supply the OLED display panel. Additionally, LG Display could also take a big part in the display production. Earlier, we came across a report that Apple has already commenced trial productions for iPhone 17e. However, the launch is not expected until 2026. As far as launch is concerned, several reports have highlighted a Q1 launch, but some have also hinted towards a May launch. Apart from this, rumours surrounding the affordable iPhone are quite slim, and we may have to wait a couple of months to get a greater idea about the launch.

Given that BOE is one of the suppliers of Apple's iPhones (alongside Samsung and LG), some reports suggest this could affect Apple's recent and upcoming models, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 16, and possibly even the iPhone 17. However, Apple has issued a clear statement dismissing any such link.'Apple is not a party to this case, and the order has no impact on any Apple products,' the company informed 9To5Mac, addressing speculation that the ITC order could lead to a ban on certain is also important to note that the ruling is not final yet. The ITC's decision is currently at a preliminary stage, and a final verdict is expected later in the year. Once that happens, the US President will have a 60-day window to either approve or reject the reports suggest that BOE has been approved by Apple to supply LTPO OLED panels for Chinese versions of the iPhone 17 Pro series. But these displays reportedly didn't meet Apple's standards for a global rollout. TSMC posts 60% jump in quarterly profit, handily beats market forecast
TSMC, the world's main producer of advanced AI chips, posted a 60 per cent jump in second-quarter profit to record levels that handily beat market forecasts on Thursday, though US tariffs and a strong Taiwan dollar could weigh on its outlook. Benefiting from surging demand for advanced chips used in artificial intelligence applications, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co said net profit for April-June climbed to T$398.3 billion ($13.53 billion), its fifth straight quarter of double-digit growth. That was well ahead of a T$377.9 billion LSEG SmartEstimate drawn from 20 analysts. Trump's trade policies and threats to put tariffs on semiconductors have created much uncertainty for the global chip industry and TSMC, whose customers include Apple and Nvidia. TSMC announced plans for a $100 billion US investment with Trump at the White House in March, on top of $65 billion pledged for three plants in the state of Arizona, one of which is up and running. Taiwan-listed shares in TSMC surged some 80 per cent last year but have climbed just 5 per cent for the year to date on worries about tariffs and unfavourable currency exchange rates.
