More victims come forward in Redmond, WA child molestation case

A Redmond man who was previously convicted of three counts of first-degree child molestation is facing new charges after more victims recently came forward.
Buckland Darrell, 45, was arrested three separate times for molesting multiple boys between 2017 and 2021.
REDMOND, Wash. - A Redmond man convicted of child molestation is facing new charges after more victims recently came forward.
The backstory
Buckland Darrell, 45, was previously arrested three separate times for molesting multiple boys, including at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Redmond, a Thanksgiving party in King County, and other church events and gatherings.
Darrell was released on bail twice before being rearrested in April 2023. In that case, three new victims came forward and reported incidences that happened between 2017 and 2021.
Each of the cases involved boys under the age of 12, with the incidents occurring near or in the presence of the victim's family members.
Now, Redmond police say two new victims have come forward, and Darrell is set to be arraigned on additional charges of first-degree child molestation and first-degree rape of a child.
Darrell is currently serving time for his previous three convictions of first-degree child molestation.
Redmond police believe there are more minor victims, and ask anyone with information to contact the Redmond Police Department at 425-556-2500.

Man charged in deadly crash that killed Endicott police sergeant extradited to N.H.
The man accused in a deadly crash that killed an Endicott police sergeant was arrested and extradited to New Hampshire on Friday. According to New Hampshire State Police, officers obtained an extraditable arrest warrant in December and charged Keoma Duarte, 40 of New Bedford with two felony counts of reckless conduct and one misdemeanor count of disobeying an officer. Prosecutors say Keoma Duarte was so drunk the night before Thanksgiving that officers could smell the alcohol on him as they worked to free him from his crumpled Tesla on Interstate 95 near Newbury. Duarte's Tesla had slammed head-on into a car that Endicott College Police Sgt. Jeremy Cole was driving, killing the 49-year-old husband and father of four as he drove home from work. Duarte, 40, was arraigned on vehicular homicide and manslaughter charges from his hospital bed in December. He spoke only once, acknowledging he could hear the judge. On June 3rd, NH troopers traveled to Bristol County Jail and House of Correction in Massachusetts and took Duarte into custody. Duarte was then transported back to New Hampshire, where he was held at the Rockingham County Department of Corrections ahead of arraignment on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Hampton District Court. Jeremy Cole was a police sergeant at Endicott College. News of his death shook the close-knit community of students and staff. The crash remains under investigation. This is a developing story. N.B. man arrested, extradited to N.H. for deadly crash
HAMPTON, N.H. (WPRI) — The New Hampshire Department of State Police said a New Bedford man, accused of driving the wrong way on I-95 and later involved in a deadly crash that killed an Endicott College police sergeant, was arrested and extradited to New Hampshire. Investigators say said they obtained an extraditable arrest warrant in December, charging 40-year-old Keoma Duarte, a New Bedford resident, with two felony counts of reckless conduct and one misdemeanor count of disobeying an officer. Officials in New Hampshire said Duarte allegedly drove his Tesla on the wrong side of the highway in Hampton, before crashing into officer Jeremy Cole's car early Thanksgiving morning in 2004. Cole later died of his injuries. Last week, the New Hampshire State Police learned Duarte was being held at the Bristol County Jail and House of Correction on the outstanding warrant. Man found dead at church youth camp south of Midway
A 38-year-old youth leader was found dead in a trailer at the Chalet Campground in the Wasatch Mountain State Park on Thursday. The man had slept in an enclosed trailer Wednesday evening and was found dead by other leaders the next morning, said Wasatch County Undersheriff Josh Probst. The man had lit some charcoal in a Dutch oven and it was burning inside the trailer as a heat source, Probst said, adding that investigators suspect carbon monoxide poisoning. He said an autopsy will determine the official cause of death. He was participating in a youth camp for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Probst said. The sheriff's office has not yet released the man's name.
