Video showing people tying mice to fireworks in Pittsburgh neighborhood under investigation

CBS News18 hours ago
Pittsburgh Bureau of Police detectives are investigating a social media post that showed acts of animal cruelty.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, last week, detectives were made aware of a social media post that contained a video of people attaching fireworks with duct tape to the backs of mice and igniting the fireworks.
Detectives believe the mice were purchased from a local pet store.
It's believed that the incident happened in the 400 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in Pittsburgh's Northview Heights neighborhood.
Once they were on the scene, they found a plastic bin, firework remnants, and a roll of tape.
One day later, after reviewing security camera footage and speaking with multiple witnesses, officers executed a search warrant in the same neighborhood and took one man into custody on unrelated charges.
Additional charges are expected.
