Iran Arrests 87 Suspected Israeli Agents in Lorestan Province Amid Escalating Tensions
Brigadier General Yahya Elahi, the police commander of Lorestan, stated that the arrests were made following intelligence operations and public cooperation.
The suspects are accused of 'disturbing public opinion, sabotage, communication with foreign intelligence agencies, and possession of explosives'.
The arrests reportedly occurred during a period of heightened military activity, including Israeli airstrikes that targeted both military and civilian sites across Iran. Iranian media claim hundreds of non-combatants were killed in the attacks.
General Elahi emphasized the role of public trust in facilitating the arrests, noting that over 16,000 citizen reports were submitted to police during the conflict period. The detainees have been transferred to judicial authorities for further investigation.
Iranian officials have not disclosed the identities or nationalities of the suspects, nor provided evidence of foreign-made weaponry.
Independent analysts have raised concerns about the transparency of the arrests, citing previous cases of coerced confessions and staged evidence.
The incident marks one of the largest mass arrests in Iran linked to alleged Israeli espionage, reflecting the deepening hostilities between Tehran and Tel Aviv.

Hamas: Zionist Enemy's abduction of Dr. Al-Hams is escalation in targeting Gaza's Medical Sector
Gaza – SABA: The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned the Zionist enemy's abduction of Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, calling it a continuation of the systematic criminal targeting of the medical sector and its personnel—through killing, arrest, or intimidation. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Hamas denounced the Israeli forces for kidnapping Dr. Al-Hams and opening fire directly on the ambulance transporting him and his companions during his visit to a field hospital affiliated with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Rafah City. Hamas held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for his life, along with the lives of hundreds of detained medical professionals held under inhumane conditions. The movement called on the international community and its institutions—particularly the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization—to condemn this crime, pressure for the release of detained doctors, and confront the genocidal war that continues to target all aspects of life in Gaza. Israeli Defense Minister Warns Houthis of Harsh Retaliation Following Missile Attacks
Aden – Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has issued a stern warning to Yemen's Houthi movement, declaring that the group will face 'severe consequences' for its continued missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli territory and maritime interests. Speaking after Israeli airstrikes reportedly hit Houthi military infrastructure in Yemen's Hodeidah port, Gallant stated, 'The fate of Yemen will mirror that of Tehran. We will act forcefully, anywhere and anytime, to protect Israel.' He emphasized that the Israeli Air Force had bombed facilities used to rebuild Houthi capabilities, including fuel tanks, engineering equipment, and vessels suspected of military use. The strikes come in response to recent Houthi claims of launching ballistic missiles and drones toward Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Eilat. The Israeli military confirmed intercepting several projectiles and accused the Houthis of escalating regional tensions under Iranian influence. Israel has reportedly urged the United States to resume joint military operations against the Houthis, citing the group's growing threat to Red Sea navigation and international shipping lanes. The Houthis, who control large parts of northern Yemen, have framed their attacks as acts of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. However, Israeli officials view the group's actions as part of a broader Iranian-backed axis seeking to destabilize the region.
