Cheshire hosts USATF Connecticut Half Marathon

CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTNH) — The Cheshire Road Race had a special designation on Sunday.
This year, it was the host of the 2025 USA Track and Field Connecticut Half Marathon.
Elite runners gathered from all across the state to compete on a course through Cheshire, Hamden and along the Farmington Canal.

'It was really high energy,' said Laura Mongillo from Cheshire. 'We usually watch the race from our neighborhood, and the energy's usually really good in the community, too, so it was great — we have lots of community support.'
After the race, runners and spectators enjoyed a 'Healthy Living Festival' with food, vendors and health services.
Organizers say at least 2,000 attended this year's event, the13th year the race has been held.
