Late Night Reviews Trump's Night at the Theater

Welcome to Best of Late Night, a rundown of the previous night's highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now. Master of the House President Donald Trump attended the opening night of 'Les Misérables' at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday. 'Usually, when Trump watches a staged rebellion, it's Fox News coverage of the 'riots' here in L.A.,' Jimmy Kimmel said on Thursday. 'It's a musical largely about a revolution. It's the people standing up against their king. The rebellion happens in Act 2 — or, I should say, it usually happens in Act 2. After Act 1 last night, Trump called in the National Guard and squashed the whole thing.' — JIMMY KIMMEL 'I have to say, Trump going to see 'Les Misérables' right now is like Kanye going to 'Fiddler on the Roof.' ' — JIMMY KIMMEL 'Some cast members from 'Les Mis' decided to boycott the performance because President Trump was there. Right now, the only person less popular than Trump in the world of theater is Patti LuPone.' — JIMMY KIMMEL 'Napoleon Bona-spurs was accompanied by Melania, as is required under Section B Subsection 3 of their prenup, which states, 'Mrs. Trump shall accompany her husband to no fewer than two public appearances per calendar year during which she shall refrain from open displays of revulsion, disgust, and/or hatred, regardless of current mood or events.' Also known as 'date night' for them.' — JIMMY KIMMEL 'But Melania, from all accounts, she loved the show. Her favorite song was 'On My Own.'' — JIMMY KIMMEL On the red carpet, a reporter asked the president if he was more of a Jean Valjean or Javert. 'Oh, that's a tough one,' he replied, and did not supply an answer. 'I don't know what's worse: that a reporter thought it was a good idea to ask Trump if he's the hero or the villain, or that Trump's response was 'Oof, that's a tough question.'' — DESI LYDIC 'All right, that's famously not a tough one. There's a pretty clear good guy and bad guy, but then I think Trump would have the same problem after a screening of 'Star Wars.' [imitating Trump] 'Oh, that's a tough one. Darth Vader is a mean guy, but also the Skywalker kid was very rude to the gay robot.'' — SETH MEYERS 'What do you mean you don't know? Javert is the bad guy. You just said you've seen the show a number of times. Is that number zero?' — STEPHEN COLBERT '[imitating Trump] The character I identify with most is Les. Les — Lester Miserables. Big, tough guy. Built that castle on a cloud. Not happy about it.' — STEPHEN COLBERT Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Portland's 'pink pony prom' celebrates LGBTQ+ community in photos

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The pink rose boutonniere crafted by their mom and pinned to their pink-shouldered cowboy vest made the perfect ensemble for Lennon Sandoval to wear to 'pink pony prom.' This year's edition of the annual event, held to celebrate teen and young adult members of the LGBTQ+ community in Portland, Oregon, was inspired by 'Pink Pony Club,' the popular Chappell Roan anthem about queer liberation and self-acceptance. It was organized by the Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center, part of New Avenues for Youth, a nonprofit dedicated to ending youth homelessness. Drag artists paused the dancing to perform for attendees, who tossed faux money at the stage. Earplugs rested on tables and signs directed attendees to a low-sensory area for those who needed a break from the stimulation. Though some kept on dancing until the lights went on. ___ This is a documentary photo story curated by AP photo editors.

Ricki Lake says she's open to talk about her plastic surgery: 'I don't want there to be any stigma'

Ricki Lake, 56, says she's gotten a lower face and neck lift after losing 40 pounds. "I don't want there to be any stigma," the "Hairspray" star said. Other celebrities, like Kylie Jenner and Barbara Corcoran, have also recently gone public about their plastic surgery. The days of celebrities hiding their cosmetic procedures are long gone, and Ricki Lake, 56, is the latest to speak openly about it. During an appearance on Thursday's episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," the "Hairspray" actor spoke about getting a lower facelift and why she's being transparent about the procedure. "I'll reveal this to you. I've told other people, but I've had a lower face and neck lift," Lake told host Andy Cohen and fellow guest Cynthia Nixon. "I kind of think it's the best facelift I've ever seen." Lake gave a shoutout to her Los Angeles-based doctor before explaining why she chose to be so open about the procedure. "I love that I can talk about it. I'm fully transparent, always have been. I don't want there to be any stigma. This is something that was bothering me," Lake said. "I lost a lot of weight, and I had this certain thing hanging, and I had it fixed." This isn't the first time that Lake has been open about her glow-up. She previously spoke to Us Weekly about losing 40 pounds by following a keto diet, hiking daily with a weighted vest, and doing Pilates. Lake joins a growing list of Hollywood celebrities who've recently opened up about their plastic surgery. Kylie Jenner went viral last week after she replied to a TikToker's request for the details of her breast augmentation surgery. "445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! silicone!!! garth fisher!!! hope this helps lol," Jenner wrote in a comment. After the plastic surgeon thanked Jenner for the shoutout on an Instagram post, Kris Jenner, 69, then commented and revealed that he was also the doctor who performed her first facelift 14 years ago. Joining in on the trend, "Shark Tank" star Barbara Corcoran also took to Threads to share a detailed list of procedures that she's done and continues to do. This included three facelifts so far, a neck lift, and ear filler four times a year. A representative for Lake did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside regular hours. Read the original article on Business Insider
