Ricki Lake says she's open to talk about her plastic surgery: 'I don't want there to be any stigma'

Ricki Lake, 56, says she's gotten a lower face and neck lift after losing 40 pounds.
"I don't want there to be any stigma," the "Hairspray" star said.
Other celebrities, like Kylie Jenner and Barbara Corcoran, have also recently gone public about their plastic surgery.
The days of celebrities hiding their cosmetic procedures are long gone, and Ricki Lake, 56, is the latest to speak openly about it.
During an appearance on Thursday's episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," the "Hairspray" actor spoke about getting a lower facelift and why she's being transparent about the procedure.
"I'll reveal this to you. I've told other people, but I've had a lower face and neck lift," Lake told host Andy Cohen and fellow guest Cynthia Nixon. "I kind of think it's the best facelift I've ever seen."
Lake gave a shoutout to her Los Angeles-based doctor before explaining why she chose to be so open about the procedure.
"I love that I can talk about it. I'm fully transparent, always have been. I don't want there to be any stigma. This is something that was bothering me," Lake said. "I lost a lot of weight, and I had this certain thing hanging, and I had it fixed."
This isn't the first time that Lake has been open about her glow-up.
She previously spoke to Us Weekly about losing 40 pounds by following a keto diet, hiking daily with a weighted vest, and doing Pilates.
Lake joins a growing list of Hollywood celebrities who've recently opened up about their plastic surgery.
Kylie Jenner went viral last week after she replied to a TikToker's request for the details of her breast augmentation surgery.
"445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! silicone!!! garth fisher!!! hope this helps lol," Jenner wrote in a comment.
After the plastic surgeon thanked Jenner for the shoutout on an Instagram post, Kris Jenner, 69, then commented and revealed that he was also the doctor who performed her first facelift 14 years ago.
Joining in on the trend, "Shark Tank" star Barbara Corcoran also took to Threads to share a detailed list of procedures that she's done and continues to do. This included three facelifts so far, a neck lift, and ear filler four times a year.
A representative for Lake did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside regular hours.

'Clash of the Cans' mural contest transforms empty lot in Holyoke

HOLYOKE – The Beyond Armour Yard lot on Race and Main streets will come alive with creativity as artists compete in the 'Clash of the Cans' mural contest, while visitors enjoy the interactive BeND sculpture, offering a blend of art and play. Beyond Walls, in collaboration with the city of Holyoke, Mayor Joshua A. Garcia, and local groups, is leading the transformation of the empty lot at Race and Main streets into the vibrant, art-filled space. The event runs until June 14 and promises family fun with art, food and music. The project features six large shipping containers decorated by muralists like Golden 305, Ruben Ubiera, Micaela Levesque, Michael Rice, Corey Pane, Brian Wentworth and Holyoke-based artist Repo09. Besides the murals, the new outdoor space will have areas for refreshments, a flexible setup for future events, and BeND, an interactive sculpture that offers seating, a canopy and a play area. The container 'park' is a semi-permanent installation, secured through a two-year agreement with the city of Holyoke. Funding for this project came from a Mass Development Creative Catalyst Grant, Holyoke Gaming Restitution Funds and the Carlos Vega Social Justice Fund. On June 14, from 5-8 p.m., there will be a free event called 'Clash of the Cans' with live painting, food from Crave Restaurant, beer from White Lion Brewing, and music by local DJs. Residents are encouraged to watch artists race to complete their murals and interact with the community.
