Nick Kyrgios believes Swiatek and Sinner wins are 'Not a good look'

Nick Kyrgios has candidly expressed concerns over Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner's successful runs to the Wimbledon titles following their return from doping bans.
Swiatek stormed through the competition, concluding with a victory over Amanda Anisimova in the women's final, while Sinner secured his triumph against Carlos Alcaraz in the men's final a day later.
Sinner failed two drug tests yet was cleared of any wrongdoing by the International Tennis Integrity Agency, who accepted his explanation of unintentional contamination.
The world No.1 tested positive for low levels of a metabolite of clostebol, which is a banned steroid that can be used to build muscle mass, but Sinner claimed it was the result of contamination from his physio.
Swiatek, meanwhile, served a one-month suspension after testing positive for a banned heart medication in August. She tested positive for trimetazidine, a medication that can increase blood flow and improve endurance, which the Polish star said was caused by a contaminated supply of melatonin, which she uses to help with jet lag and sleep issues. Kyrgios has been extremely vocal on the subject in the past and spoke out again ahead of the Wimbledon finals. "At the end of the day, the decision has been made, and it's kind of in the past," he told the i.
"Do I think it's a good look for the sport that Swiatek and Sinner are in the final at Wimbledon after serving a ban? I don't think it's a good look for the sport.
"And I think people could agree. But I'm not going to sit there and talk about that [on commentary] in the final. They've been playing some incredible tennis.
"Sinner, he served a ban, which do I agree with? No. But he came back and he's been playing some excellent tennis. He didn't look like he missed a beat, and he looked like he improved during that period of time, which is still incredible, regardless of why he was banned."
Writing on X after hearing Sinner's ban, Kyrgios wrote: "Ridiculous... whether it was accidental or planned. You get tested twice with a banned (steroid) substance... you should be gone for two years. Your performance was enhanced. Massage cream... yeah nice."
Sinner's explanation was that he tested positive for clostebol because his physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi had been using an over-the-counter spray to treat a cut on his own hand.
The case sparked a debate around doping, with some angry that Sinner got off lightly, given his suspension fell between tournaments. But Sinner admitted earlier in Wimbledon that he hadn't experienced any backlash a year on.
"I think people kind of have forgotten already a little bit what happened," he said. "Of course, in the beginning it was a bit different. People saw me in different ways. But I think they all saw that I'm a very clean player. I never [had the] intention to do anything bad."

Artem Lobov makes startling claim about Conor McGregor vs Khabib fight

Conor McGregor's former training partner and teammate, Artem Lobov, has made a shocking claim about his 2018 fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. Lobov claimed that McGregor barely trained and didn't take the bout as seriously as he should have, while also suggesting that if the Irishman fixed up his act, then Khabib may even be convinced to return for a rematch. McGregor submitted to Khabib in the Octagon in a bitter defeat that led to fans speculating about a number of reasons the Dublin native fell short on the big occasion. Pic: Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images Some fans tried to reason that McGregor wasn't equipped to deal with an MMA match due to his previous fight being in the boxing ring against Floyd Mayweather. However, Lobov, who has since fallen out with McGregor, has made the startling claim that the 37-year-old only trained twice a week in the lead up to the fight. He said: 'I know that fight bothers Conor because he didn't train at all for that fight. 'Twice a week he was training for Khabib. I tried to get him to Las Vegas and said 'We have to do this', and he told me to f*** off, he just didn't want to do it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Uncrowned (@uncrowned) 'He was in the wrong mindset, the party mindset. Training twice a week and that's it. 'So when I saw the fight, I was like 'Oh my god, if only you trained four times a week, you probably would've beaten him'. 'But imagine him in a full camp and the Conor that fought Eddie Alvarez. Imagine that Conor fighting Khabib. That's what I want to see.' Lobov has since fallen out with McGregor. Pic: Brandon Magnus/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images Khabib retired in 2020 after beating Justin Gaethje and retaining his title, preserving his undefeated legacy. McGregor's last fight came in 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier after breaking his leg in the first round. Lobov believes that if he could make a comeback next year and score a big statement KO win, it could well tempt Khabib back. He continued: 'I would love to see him come back, because I feel that if he was at 100%, we would be able to bring Khabib back as well. McGregor hasn't fought since 2021. Pic: Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images 'He would just need one fight, knock the guy out, and then the whole world will be talking to Khabib and getting him to come back.' McGregor, who recently lost his appeal against a High Court jury that he raped Nikita Hand, seems to be currently preoccupied with his presidential ambitions. He launched a petition this week, calling it 'Let the people decide. A petition to Ensure that Conor McGregor is on the Ballot.' The petition aims to change the nomination process ahead of the Irish presidential election, due to the fact that he needs to receive a nomination from at least 20 members of the Oireachtas, either TDs or Senators, or from four local authorities.

7 Transfers you may have missed heading into the Premier League season

The Premier League begins next week and one of the most exciting things about the start of the new season is seeing players dawn their new kits. This summer's transfer window has been hectic as ever with over €2billion being spent so far by Premier League sides alone and there's still a few weeks left in the window. With all that money being spent and over 250 players joining new Premier League sides, you'd be forgiven for missing a couple, so here's seven of the biggest transfers you may have missed ahead of the Premier League season. Kyle Walker with Burnley. Pic:Walker dawns the Turf Moor It wasn't long ago that Kyle Walker was considered a crucial part of a Manchester City side that won the treble and an England side that reached back-to-back European Championship finals. However, last season was far from one to remember for Walker. He lost his spot in the City team and had a very unsuccessful spell at AC Milan, where he only played 11 Serie A games. But now he has a fresh start with newly promoted Burnley. The 35-year old gets to play under his former Spurs teammate Scott Parker as Burnley look to establish themselves once again as a top tier side. Aaron Ramsdale unveiled at Newcastle United. Pic: Michelle Mercer/Newcastle United via Getty Images Ramsdale goes from South to North It's fair to say that Aaron Ramsdale hasn't had the best of luck with transfer moves. Despite impressing everywhere he's gone, Ramsdale has now been relegated three times from the Premier League after last season with Southampton. However he was a big part of the Arsenal side that finished second in the Premier League in 2022-23. He now gets a chance to be first choice at a big side again as he's moved from the South coast all the way to the North with Newcastle, initially on loan for the season. Chelsea Unveil New Signing Jamie Gittens. Pic: Darren Walsh/Chelsea FC via Getty Images Chelsea get Gittens Chelsea have brought in another raft of players this summer as their hoarding has gone up a gear yet again, so it could be forgiven if you missed Jamie Gittens' move from Borussia Dortmund. Gittens is an England U21 International and has shone in recent seasons in Germany. He scored 12 times in all competitions off the wing last season, including four in the Champions League, experience that will be crucial as Chelsea are back in Europe's top competition. Joao Palhinha. Pic: Ryan Crockett/DeFodi Images via Getty Images Palhinha returns to Prem João Palhinha was one of the most underrated players in the Premier League during his time at Fulham. The Portuguese man was a throwback of a midfielder, embracing the tackle and cleaning up play at Craven Cottage on numerous occassions. After years of speculation of him leaving London, Palhinha finally got his big move to Bayern Munich last summer. However he didn't break into Vincent Kompany's side at Bavaria and has now returned to London to play for Spurs under new manager Thomas Frank. Jordan Henderson with Brentford. Pic: Miguel Lemos/EurasiaBrentford gain experience in Henderson It's been a huge summer of change at Brentford, with Thomas Frank leaving the side to join Tottenham Hostspurs after seven years in West London. Irishman Keith Andrews comes in to replace Frank in his first role as a first team manager and while he may not have the experience of managing in the Premier League, Jordan Henderson comes in as a proven Premier League leader. Henderson returns to the Premier League after a controversial spell in Saudi Arabia which lasted only six months before spending the last 18 months in Amsterdam with Ajax. He now returns to his homeland and might make a run at getting into Thomas Tuchel's England side for next summer's World Cup. Mark Travers with Everton. Pic:Travers moves to Everton Irish goalkeeper Mark Travers has been hugely unlucky in recent years. He's always impressed when given the few opportunities he got at Bournemouth but for one reason or another the Cherries never backed him with the number 1 spot in the Premier League. And while he'll play second fiddle to Jordan PIckford to begin with, it's still a fresh start for Travers and could rejuvenate a career that was beginning to stall a little bit. Kepa Arrizabalaga with Arsenal. Pic: David Price/Arsenal FC via Getty Images Arsenal buy from Chelsea once again For being London rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea do an awful lot of transfer business together. Arsenal have bought several players from Chelsea like Petr Cech, Jorginho and David Luiz to name a few and they've brought in two more players from Stamford Bridge this summer. While many would've noticed Noni Madueke's move to the Emirates, they may have missed Kepa Arrizabalega's move to North London. The Spanish goalkeeper makes the move after a very successful loan spell at Bournemouth where he had a career renaissance. Could he challenge Spanish compatriot David Raya for the first choice spot?
