According to BBC News, Singh was killed after a hit-and-run in his home country of India while crossing a road. The vehicle that hit Singh has not been identified. He was taken to the hospital after being struck, but passed away.
Once a farmer living in India, Singh became a global sensation in the 2000s and 2010s when he began running marathons well into his late-80s and 90s. Between 2000 and 2013, he ran nine full marathons, with his final coming when he had past his century mark of life.
Sadly, Singh's record is not recognized by the prestigious Guinness World Records. While Singh did have a passport listing April 1, 1911 as his date of birth, he did not have a birth certificate, and Guinness stated that their policy to only accept documentation from the year of birth.
But his incredible feat of running marathons past the age of 100 earned him a major endorsement deal in 2004 from Adidas, along with global acclaim.

Liverpool signed the NEW face of adidas

Liverpool's latest partnership with adidas is already set for tremendous success. It's the third time the iconic sportswear brand is returning to become a manufacturer of the club's shirts. The relationship between Liverpool and adidas stems all the way back to the 1980s. LFC Kits Shop Now LFC x New Era Shop Now LFC Signed Merch Shop Now LFC x Titleist Shop Now It was in adidas colours that Liverpool lifted their last few First Division titles. It was also in adidas colours that Liverpool were toppled by Manchester United in the 1990s. The Reds then went onto swap adidas for Reebok during a decade long partnership between 1996 to 2006, before once again collaborating with adidas until 2012. Since then, Liverpool have worked together with Warrior, New Balance and Nike but are now returning to the brand which it is most familiar with. Being the current Premier League champions, and having the summer that the Reds have had when it comes to recruitment means Liverpool are expecting record shirt sales when the home kit is finally announced on August 1st. But this is a partnership that doesn't just help them this summer, it sets them up for the future. There's been a lot of talk about the adidas athletes at the club, most notably Mohamed Salah, who is one of the biggest athletes currently represented by the brand. He's not alone, Florian Wirtz is recognised as one of the future faces of adidas. With the brand originating from Germany, there are close ties between adidas and Wirtz. He often features prominently in advertising campaigns for adidas, and will continue to do so at Liverpool - the only difference is that he will be able to wear his Liverpool shirt in the advertisement campaigns. Wirtz and Salah linked-up recently alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal to promote adidas' new F50 boots. The sparkly boots have hit stores already and they are one of the best designs adidas has made in recent years. Wirtz and Salah though are not the only Liverpool athletes who is promoting the brand though.

🎥 Viktor Gyökeres meets new Arsenal team-mates for the first time

Arsenal have shared a heartwarming glimpse of new signing Viktor Gyökeres meeting his teammates for the first time, as the Swedish striker was welcomed into the squad during the club's pre-season tour in Hong Kong. In a short video posted on Arsenal's official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, the club captioned the clip: 'Welcome to the family man.' The one-minute footage shows Gyökeres exchanging handshakes and smiles with several Arsenal players, including a lighthearted moment with captain Martin Ødegaard, as the two Scandinavians greet each other in their native languages — Norwegian and Swedish. Supporters were quick to respond online, with a wave of excitement and affection. One fan wrote, 'Welcome to the best club in the world, Gyökeres,' while another commented, 'Look at me smiling like a clown here,' capturing the buzz among Arsenal's global fanbase. A particularly well-noticed moment saw Declan Rice call Gyökeres 'my guy', prompting reactions about the developing camaraderie within the squad. Others joked about Kai Havertz asking the new arrival whether he was happy, while many fans noted the absence of Gabriel Magalhães from the meeting. Gyökeres, 27, joins as Mikel Arteta's new attacking spearhead, expected to compete for the central striker role as Arsenal prepare for another push in the Premier League and Champions League. With his first steps as a Gunner coming on the other side of the world, Arsenal fans will be hoping Gyökeres makes his mark quickly — in Asia now, and in England soon. 📸 Yong Teck Lim - 2025 Getty Images

2 new signings & 2 injury comebacks in Arsenal training

Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera, and Jurrien Timber were all involved in Arsenal's training session on Tuesday, ahead of the final friendly of the Asia tour. Photo via As reported earlier today, Riccardo Calafiori joined up with the Arsenal squad for their training session on Tuesday, despite being withdrawn early on in the second half of Sunday's pre-season friendly against Newcastle United. But it looks like Calafiori isn't the only player making a comeback, with Jurrien Timber also pictured in boots with the ball at his feet taking part in the session. And as well as the two injured defenders, Arsenal's two new signings were also involved in the session, with both Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera taking part. Photo via Mosquera has already been involved in a couple of training sessions, but he wasn't included in the matchday squad at the weekend due to his limited minutes on the training pitches since the end of last season. The defender returned late to training with Valencia due to his summer involvement at the u21 Euros, and after his final session with the club on July 14th, he didn't train with Arsenal until July 25th. It's been a disrupted schedule for him so far. Gyokeres' situation isn't too dissimilar, with the striker having zero involvement in team training with Sporting CP since the end of the 2024/25 campaign. All the same, both Gyokeres and Mosquera have been added to Arsenal's pre-season tour squad to face Tottenham Hotspur, so it's not impossible they could play some part in the game on Thursday. Photo via Arsenal still aren't at full strength, notably missing Gabriel Magalhaes through a minor injury setback, Gabriel Jesus due to his long-term ACL injury, and Noni Madueke as he has his post-Club World Cup summer holiday. Karl Hein is also injured, and Fabio Vieira is on a post-Club World Cup holiday of his own, but both players appear likely to leave this summer, so it's unlikely Mikel Arteta will be counting on them anyway. Other than that, the Arsenal boss is getting pretty close to having all of his players available for selection.
