For the cumulative nine months ended 31 May 2025 (9M FYE2025), the Group recorded revenue of RM195.83 million, up 26.5% YoY from RM154.84 million, while PAT nearly doubled to RM4.40 million compared to RM2.48 million in the same period last year. Managing director Pang Tse Fui commented, 'We are pleased to sustain our profit momentum into the third quarter, demonstrating the strength of our execution model and financial discipline. As our project portfolio continues to deliver, we remain focused on risk-managed growth while reinforcing governance across all operational aspects. The results thus far give us the confidence to stay on track toward a stronger full-year performance.'
As at May 31, 2025, Aneka Jaringan had secured RM158.15 million in new project wins for the current financial year, bringing its outstanding order book to RM233.83 million. These contracts span foundation works and substructure packages for data centres, high-rise buildings, and other urban infrastructure, underscoring the Group's ability to remain competitive in high-demand segments.
In addition to the RM158.15 million worth of projects secured as of 31 May 2025, the Group has since secured further projects amounting to approximately RM108.26 million. These include piling and foundation works for a data centre valued at RM72.30 million, two separate projects for SkyWorld worth RM19.31 million and RM9.45 million respectively, as well as a RM7.20 million job for the Rapid Transit System (RTS) project. These new contracts further reinforce the Group's earnings visibility heading into FY2026.
Looking ahead, Aneka Jaringan maintains a cautiously optimistic outlook for the remainder of FY2025. While macroeconomic headwinds and cost fluctuations remain, the Group continues to emphasise operational efficiency, selective bidding, and cost discipline to drive sustainable value creation. Backed by a healthy order pipeline and strengthened fundamentals, the Group is well-positioned to maintain its positive performance trajectory.

Carlsberg's Q2 Profit Rose 3.2% To RM81.9 Million Although Revenue Declines

Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia has reported an increase in net profit of 3.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM81.9 million despite a 3.4% y-o-y decline in revenue to RM490.2 million for the second quarter ended 30 June 2025 (Q2FY25). The group said this was due to the effects of lower tax expenses for the quarter. The Malaysia operations registered a higher revenue and profit from operations in part due to a lower base in the same quarter last year resulting from trade purchases in March last year ahead of the price increase. Meanwhile, the Singapore operations saw a decline in revenue and profit from operations due to the softer on-trade performance and intensified competitive pricing pressure in the market, amid cautious consumer sentiment and subdued discretionary spending. Additionally, the Group's Sri Lankan-based associate company Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC recognised a higher share profit of RM9.1 million in Q2FY25 compared with RM8.3 million in Q2FY24 due to improved Group's earnings per share (EPS) for Q2FY25 were 26.80 sen compared to 25.97 sen in Q2FY24. The Board of Directors announced a second interim dividend of 20 sen per share for the second quarter ended 30 June 2025, bringing the cumulative interim dividend to 43 sen per share for FY2025. For the six months ended 30 June 2025 (1HFY25), the Group saw net profit up by 5.4% y-o-y to RM176.5 million versus RM167.3 million in 1HFY24, due to the absence of additional deferred tax liabilities from foreign withholding tax in the Group's Sri Lankan-based associate company Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC recognised in 1HFY24. The Group's revenue, on the other hand, fell by 6.5% y-o-y to RM1.15 billion versus RM1.23 billion in the same period last year due to the shorter Chinese New Year (CNY) timing, as part of the festive sales had been captured in December 2024.

Norway's US$2t wealth fund expects to sell more Israeli stocks over Gaza, West Bank conflict

ARENDAL (Norway), Aug 12 — Norway's US$2 trillion (RM8.5 trillion) sovereign wealth fund, the world's largest, said on Tuesday it expects to divest from more Israeli companies as part of its ongoing review of investments in the country over the situation in Gaza and the West Bank. The fund announced on Monday it was terminating contracts with external asset managers handling some of its Israeli investments and has divested parts of its portfolio in the country over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The review began last week following media reports that the fund had built a stake of just over 2 per cent in an Israeli jet engine group that provides services to Israel's armed forces, including the maintenance of fighter jets. The stake in the company, Bet Shemesh Engines Ltd (BSEL), has now been sold, the fund announced on Tuesday. Bet Shemesh did not respond to requests for comment. Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), an arm of Norway's central bank, which held stakes in 61 Israeli companies as of June 30, in recent days divested stakes in 11 firms, including BSEL. It did not name the other companies. 'We expect to divest from more companies, NBIM CEO Nicolai Tangen told a press conference on Tuesday. The fund began investing in BSEL in November 2023, about one month after the war in Gaza began, via an external investment manager, Tangen said. The fund declined to name the external portfolio manager. Since then, NBIM has held quarterly meetings with Bet Shemesh Holdings, but the war in Gaza was not raised as a theme. 'We had discussions about their business in the United States, not about the war in Gaza,' Tangen said, adding that the fund had rated BSEL as a 'medium risk' stock with regards to ethics concerns. BSEL was later reviewed as a high-risk stock in May. That change should have been quicker, Tangen said, adding that NBIM should have had a tighter overview of these investments earlier. 'We should have been quicker in taking back control of the Israeli investments,' he said. Six-month profit The fund, which invests the Norwegian state's revenues from oil and gas production, is one of the world's largest investors, owning on average 1.5 per cent of all listed stocks worldwide. It also invests in bonds, real estate and renewable energy projects. On Tuesday, it posted a 698 billion Norwegian crowns profit for the first half of the year, earning an overall return of 5.7 per cent in line with its benchmark index. 'The result is driven by good returns in the stock market, particularly in the financial sector,' Tangen said in a statement. — Reuters

SD Guthrie achieves strong first half with RM1.07 billion net profit

SHAH ALAM - SD Guthrie Berhad delivered a strong performance for the first half of FY2025, reporting a net profit of RM1.07 billion, a 71 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase from RM626 million in the same period last year. For the second quarter alone, net profit rose 22 per cent to RM505 million. The Group's outstanding results were largely driven by its Upstream segment, which saw profits double on the back of stronger average realised prices for crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK), up three per cent and 50 per cent YoY respectively. Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production also rose by four per cent, with growth recorded across all regions. In contrast, the Downstream segment, SD Guthrie International (SDGI), recorded a 44 per cent decline in profit before interest and tax (PBIT) in 2Q FY2025, impacted by weaker demand and tighter margins in Asia Pacific and Europe. However, its Oceania operations achieved solid performance, supported by higher sales and improved margins. SD Guthrie stays focused on long-term growth. Following a strong first half, SD Guthrie is staying focused on long-term growth despite global uncertainties. Its chairman, Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani, said that continued progress in the Group's operational excellence, as well as growing momentum in its new Industrial Development and Renewables segments, will help future-proof the business. 'Moving into second half of FY2025, the global economic and operating environment remains volatile and unpredictable. As such, the meaningful progress made in our operational excellence initiatives, and the steady uptick in activities within the new Industrial Development segment and continuous progress made in the Renewables sector, will help to future proof the Group. "I am pleased with Guthrie's momentum and am confident that our disciplined approach to driving measurable results will deliver long-term and sustainable value to shareholders,' he said in a statement. Meanwhile, Group Managing Director Datuk Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha said that the Group's solid results reflect the strength of its strategy and execution. As Guthrie expands into new growth areas, including national development-linked projects, it remains committed to responsible collaboration. 'The Group's performance in this period bears testament to our robust strategy and disciplined execution, as we continue to prioritise operational excellence. Even as our core business segments regain momentum, the new and expanded strategic focus to pursue broader growth initiatives is starting to take shape. "As we expand into our new pillars on the back of the national development agenda, we are committed to ensuring the collaborations on our land are well-strategised and take into consideration the development potential of the area and also the impact to surrounding communities. "The recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) to co-develop a Food Security and Edu-Tech Hub on Carey Island is a prime example of our commitment. "Here the focus is not only to stimulate economic growth on the island, but also to ensure the existing community and rich heritage are protected. Guthrie values opportunities to be involved in such meaningful developments,' he said. SD Guthrie is committed to responsible collaboration. After a strong first half of 2025, SD Guthrie is preparing for a more uncertain second half. The Group expects higher fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production, thanks to better weather and improved productivity across its plantations in Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. With new business areas gaining momentum, SD Guthrie is confident it can stay strong and grow, even as market conditions remain challenging.
