ITV Love Island fans threaten to switch off after rumbling who's already been dumped from villa

Love Island viewers have been left fuming after 'working out' which female Islander has been dumped from the villa after Shakira was tasked with stealing one of the coupled up boys. The first Love Island exit of this year's series may already be sealed as viewers think they have worked out which female islander will be brutally dumped from the villa after just 24 hours. Host Maya Jama dropped the bombshell news of a looming exit at the end of Monday's launch show. After the couples were announced in full at the beginning of the episode, a huge twist unfolded as a bombshell entered the villa and caused carnage. The American Islander was told to steal a man and leave that man's current girlfriend single. ‌ Toni chose to couple up with Ben, leaving Shakira single and at risk of being dropped from the show after just one night. That was not the last of the drama though as Maya announced a further twist. ‌ She told Shakira that she was now tasked with some serious grafting over the next 24 hours in an attempt to get to know the other boys and fight for her place in the iconic villa. In scenes that are likely to air on ITV on Tuesday evening, Shakira will pick the boy she wants to steal from another girl so that she can stay on the show. However, there is a catch. The chosen male Islander must agree to the swap, otherwise it will not happen. If Shakira choses a boy and they don't agree to the coupling up, they will remain with their current partner and Shakira will be dumped from the villa. If Shakira is successful and the swap goes through, the partner of the boy she chooses will pack their bags instead. ‌ It's understood that the scenes have already been filmed which means one female Islander has already been sent home. Love Island fans believe they have already worked out who this will be though, stating it's obvious who Shakira will choose after Alima Gagigo and Blu Chegini's awkward exchange earlier in the episode. ‌ After Alima 'blindly' chose Blu after reading his dating profile, he told her not long after that she isn't his "type on paper". Alima also expressed her disinterest as she said "I'm not feeling him" after his brutal comment. Fans believe Alima has already sadly sealed her fate after her and Blu clearly did not hit it off. ‌ They suspected it would be him that Shakira would choose and Ailma would be axed from the show. Convinced they already know who is leaving, one user wrote: "The good thing about Alima going home tomorrow is that I will focus on Love Island USA #LoveIsland." ‌ Another chimed in: "If Alima leaves. That's Love Island for me this year done. #LoveIsland." A third wrote: "Yeah it's not looking good for Alima at all. Shakira will lock in with Blu, he's the weak link so far. #LoveIsland" Someone else declared: "So Alima basically going home then #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK." Another agreed: "If Alima goes home tomorrow then that's my watching Love Island this year over #LoveIsland."

ITV Love Island fans fiercely defend Scots star Alima Gagigo after brutal coupling up comment

Love Island fans were all saying the same thing just minutes into the first episode of Love Island tonight after Scots beauty Alima Gagigo received a harsh remark from the boy she had just chosen to couple up with. Love Island kicked off its twelfth season tonight with thirteen new contestants entering the iconic villa in the hopes of finding love under the Spanish sun. Seven gorgeous girls and six handsome hunks made their debut on the ITV dating show on Monday evening as they were welcomed by host Maya Jama. Among them is Glaswegian beauty Alima Gagigo who is the only Scot on Love Island this year so far. The 23-year-old graduate, chose to blindly couple up with construction project manager Blu Chegin after being drawn to his dating profile, but it seems there is already trouble in paradise for the pair. ‌ After Maya revealed that he had been chosen by Alima, Blu made a controversial comment as he said: "Every girl looks beautiful." Maya replied to his eyebrow raising remark as she repeated: "Yes but Alima chose you." ‌ Fans at home were quick to spot the awkward moment as they took to X to fume over Blue's careless remark. Alima, having already caught viewers attention thanks to her fiery stand out Scottish accent, has already garnered support from viewers after Blu brutally told her: "You're not my type on paper." Viewers at home were left furious by his comment as one wrote: "Alima is 100% out of Blu's league. His attitude is gross. #loveisland". After Alima told Blu she's not "feeling him", another fan chimed in: "LOVE that Alima called Blu's disrespectful a** out. #loveisland." ‌ A third agreed: "Alima clocking Blu's nonsense already. Glad she's a smart girl. #loveisland" A fourth remarked: "I need Alima to couple up with someone else so I can vote blu out effective immediately." Someone else applauded Alima: "Alima knowing her worth from day 1 & not settling for Blu #loveisland #loveislanduk". ‌ Another awkwardly pointed out: "Blu said he didn't have a type in his interview but Alima is not his type on paper. #LoveIsland" However, Alima herself has also already ran into an awkward moment which did not go unnoticed by fans. After claiming she could speak Spanish, she was put on the spot and asked to show off some of her multilingual talents. ‌ Fans were left cringing by the awkward scene and branded the 23-year-old as a 'liar' as one wrote: "I don't think Alima speaks Spanish #LoveIsland." ‌ Another remarked: "Alima a damn liar about I speak Spanish #LoveIsland." A third joked: "Alima is me when I lie on my CV. Don't ask me questions", alongside two laughing emojis. Somebody else who was amused by the moment wrote: "Alima adding Spanish to her CV just cos she speak Portuguese is too funny to me", alongside a laughing emoji ‌ A fifth wrote: "Alima is giving everyone that took GSCE Spanish and can only say hello my name is, guiltyyyy #LoveIsland". However, Alima could now find herself in trouble for tomorrow night's episode after bombshell American Islander Toni walked in to the villa and decided to couple up with Ben, who was originally coupled up with Shakira, leaving Shakira single. Maya announced at the end of Monday's night episode that Shakira would need to spend the next 24 hours getting her graft on and getting to know the other boys to keep her place in the villa. ‌ In scenes that are likely to air on ITV on Tuesday evening, Shakira will select the boy she wants to steal from another girl. However, there is a catch. The chosen male Islander must agree to the swap. ‌ If Shakira choses a boy and they don't agree to the coupling up, they will remain with their current partner and Shakira will be dumped from the villa. If Shakira is successful and the swap goes through, the partner of the boy she chooses will pack their bags instead. As Alima and Blu have already hit a rough patch, could Shakira use this as an opportunity to seek out Blu and send Alima packing? Viewers will need to wait until tomorrow night to find out what happens. Love Island airs on Tuesday June 10 on ITV at 9pm.

Beth, review: a baffling and muddled sci-fi drama about race and IVF

Beth is Channel 4's first 'digital original drama'. What does this mean? Your guess is as good as mine. But it's being shown as a 45-minute programme on regular television and in 15-minute mini-episodes on YouTube. 'Truly groundbreaking,' says the man from Channel 4. Hmm. The thinking seems to be that young people with chronically short attention spans watch YouTube, and Channel 4 needs young people. In which case, they've made a baffling choice of subject, because does anyone under the age of 30 want to watch a stifling drama about a couple going through IVF? It's billed as a sci-fi thriller, which piques the interest a bit. Think of it as an undercooked episode of Black Mirror. Joe and Molly (Nicholas Pinnock and Abbey Lee) have been trying for a baby. They've had multiple rounds of fertility treatment and multiple miscarriages. Now at the end of the road, they're told by their doctor that there is a chance they could conceive naturally. 'Once you remove the stress and strain, miracles can happen. That's the irony with IVF,' he explains. He also puts his hand on Molly's knee in the consulting room, which we are invited to find a bit suspicious. Is there something going on between those two? When Molly does get pregnant, and the baby arrives – white and bearing no resemblance to Joe – the question hanging in the air is: who's the father? We skip from the labour room to a few years later. You may be wondering where the sci-fi element kicks in, and the answer is about five minutes from the end. The big reveal is bizarre. Until then, though, it is just a little bit odd. Molly's mother becomes unnaturally freaked out by a child's drawing. There is some business with a wall clock. As for the title, I still have no idea who Beth is. Film-maker Uzo Oleh has a background in high-end fashion photography and he has crafted something that looks beautiful, not least because Lee is a model who has appeared on the cover of Vogue. As an entry into television writing and directing, it's a promising start, but too hung up on the visuals. The tone is arty. The casting is a problem, because while the talented Pinnock acts like a regular guy invested with a full range of human emotions, Lee is at an icy remove even in scenes where she's supposed to be full of warmth. At times, as Molly and Joe wear their expensive clothes in a tasteful apartment, a couple supposedly in love but displaying about as much emotional connection as Nick Robinson and Emma Barnett on the Today programme, it reminded me of Eyes Wide Shut. It helps to watch it twice, once you've seen the twist. But when the emphasis is on the convenience of 15-minute instalments, will anybody have the time to do that?
