UP CM warns agencies againstmissing project deadlines

warned the working agencies, including PWD, Jal Nigam and UP Bridge Corporation, not to miss the deadline for the ongoing projects.
While reviewing progress in the ongoing development works and also law and order at the circuit house auditorium on Monday evening, Yogi specifically instructed that ongoing development projects in the district be completed within the stipulated timeframe through a campaign on a war-footing.
Upon becoming aware that many projects run by agencies like PWD, UPBC and UPJN in the district were not on schedule, he said that an extension in time for completion of projects leads to unnecessary expenses and affects quality.
Therefore, ensure that all projects are completed on time and with quality, said Yogi, mentioning that timely completion of projects benefits people as per the govt's intent.
Seeking details on the plantation drive for the year, Yogi asked for organised tree planting on road medians and proper irrigation arrangements for it.
He directed that street vendors be organised to avoid obstruction at city intersections and crowded places.
He emphasised that no road should be dug without permission. Departments responsible for road digging should restore roads promptly and efficiently, considering public movement. "There should be no negligence at any level in the implementation of development projects," he said, adding, "Before the monsoon, 100% cleaning of drains and sewers must be ensured as a priority to prevent waterlogging in the city.
The silt removed during cleaning should be immediately disposed of.
" He also instructed police and administrative officers to ensure prompt resolution of public issues and to strengthen law and order. He directed the municipal corporation to focus on urban cleanliness and the panchayati raj department on rural sanitation. Yogi also mobilised officials by mentioning that being posted in the ancient city of Kashi, a centre of Sanatan Dharma, is a matter of fortune for all, hence each department should perform better.
The CM said that all departments should conduct public hearings promptly and resolve complaints received through IGRS, CM Helpline with quality assurance.
"Illegal mining should be strictly stopped, and those involved should face stringent action," he said. Yogi also reviewed preparations for International Yoga Day on June 21 and said that the events should be organized grandly with public participation. Asking to prioritise the restoration of rivers, Yogi directed officials to create an effective action plan with public involvement for the restoration of Varuna and Assi.
Under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, he directed extensive tree plantation and the development of city forests. "Public participation with voluntary and social organizations should be ensured in this work," he said.
Asking police officials to improve performance, he emphasized stricter measures to check crime against women and children. He said that cases related to revenue should be resolved within a set timeframe.
"Keep an eye on road safety and cattle smuggling and increase foot patrolling. The functioning of police stations and lines should be regularly reviewed. Police personnel should not be assigned long-term duties in border areas," he said.
"Regular reviews should be conducted to effectively curb cattle smuggling and those involved in the practice should be identified and dealt with strictly," the CM added.
Yogi asked VDA to promote activities near international cricket stadium at Ganjari Stadium. He also reviewed the process of map approvals and pending cases.
