‘Is That A Dog Driving?': Husky Found Behind Wheel In Mumbai Traffic Jam

It appears the owner had left the pet inside the parked car at Lokhandwala Main Market in Mumbai.
A bizarre incident from Mumbai has taken the internet by storm. Amid a traffic jam at Lokhandwala Main Market, Andheri West, a car caught everyone's attention. No, not because of its make or model, but because of who was in the driver's seat. Surprisingly, it wasn't empty. Sitting comfortably behind the wheel was a dog.
Yes, you read that right! The dog in the driver's seat sparked a mix of amusement and disbelief online. The video, shared on Instagram, captures a red car parked right in the middle of the street. It is a busy area, and the car's placement caused a major traffic block. A bus and several cars were stuck behind it, honking in frustration as they tried to move forward.
A Husky In The Driver's Seat
The twist? It was a husky behind the wheel. It appears the owner had left the pet inside the parked car. As traffic chaos unfolded around the vehicle, the pet remained calmly in the driver's seat, leaving bystanders both amused and bewildered. The viral video capturing the scene does not reveal the car's owner, and it remains unclear why the vehicle was left parked in such a busy spot. Adding to the mystery, the car's number plate is obscured in the footage.
The clip was posted with a caption that read, 'Car parked right in the middle of Lokhandwala Main Market, causing major inconvenience. Shockingly, a pet dog was left sitting on the driver's seat. This kind of careless & irresponsible parking deserves the choicest of punishment."
Here's How The Internet Reacted
The video has crossed over a lakh views and sparked varied reactions online. Some users were amused while others expressed concern.
One user wrote, 'What a cutie pie! But this is so dangerous – leaving him alone in the car like that."
Another added, 'The iconic Lokhandwala Road, where you can learn the art of not following traffic rules, especially to park to block the flow of traffic!! Real-life anti-parking game."
'He's in the driver's seat?? Are we sure he didn't drive there as well? He seems more sensible," someone joked while a person added, 'Lokhandwala has literally gone to the dogs."
There were also more serious comments with an individual writing, 'Take a photo and upload to Mumbai Traffic App. The challan will be issued against the offence."
'Sadly, this is the state of the entire Mumbai. People just park anywhere, leaving very little space to drive. Suddenly, there's been traffic everywhere for the last 1-2 years because of this. No action being taken by traffic police," read another comment.
The incident comes just weeks after a heartbreaking case in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, where a five-year-old pet Labrador died of suffocation after being left locked inside a parked car in the heat while its owners visited a temple.

Mizoram commercial vehicles to stay off road for week to expedite NH repairs

Agency: PTI Aizawl, July 31 (PTI) Commercial vehicles operating on NH-306/NH-6 between Vairengte and Aizawl on Thursday decided to stay off the road for a week starting August 4 to expedite the repairing of Mizoram's vital link. Addressing reporters, commercial vehicles operators said they will halt their services between August 4 and 9 to ensure that the national highway is repaired expeditiously. They said the move is not meant to register protest over the dilapidated condition of the national highway, but to give room to the authorities to repair it. The operators, however, threatened to stage an agitation if the state government and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) fail to properly repair the national highway within a given time. NH-306, a certain stretch of which is also called NH-6, is the primary lifeline of Mizoram linking the northeastern state with the rest of the country through Assam's Silchar town. All supplies from other states come through this national highway. The national highway, particularly the Sairang-Kawnpui sector, has been badly affected because of monsoon, officials said. Officials said the repair of the Sairang-Kawnpui sector of NH-6 is currently underway and is being executed by both the NHIDCL and the state PWD. The indefinite strike by Guwahati-based Northeast Petroleum Mazdoor Union starting Friday to protest the dilapidated road has also been cancelled following an appeal from Mizoram government, they said. Despite the repairs, essential goods are still being transported, with over 100 trucks released daily, officials said. Officials said that 106 goods-laden trucks, including 12 LPG trucks and 6 oil tankers, heading for Aizawl were released from Kawnpui on Thursday. They also said 84 vehicles, including 39 empty trucks and 26 empty LPG trucks stranded at Khamrang near Sairanga and going towards Assam, were also released on Wednesday evening. About 382 trucks going towards Aizawl are currently stranded at Kawnpui and 46 other vehicles heading for Assam were stuck at Khamrang on Thursday, officials said. Max Verstappen Confirms He Will Stay With Red Bull Racing Till 2026

Max Verstappen confirmed he will stay with Red Bull Racing through 2026, ending speculation about his future. It's official: Max Verstappen will stay at Red Bull Racing through the 2026 season. The defending four-time World Champion confirmed his allegiance to his current team at a presser leading up to the Hungarian GP on Thursday. Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, Verstappen finally stated in no uncertain terms he was staying with the team that helped him to four consecutive world championships. 'I've never really said anything about it because I was just focused on talking to the team about how we can improve our performance, future ideas for next year as well, and that's why I had nothing really to add," he said. 'I think it's time to basically stop all the rumours. For me, it has always been quite clear that I was staying anyway," stated the Dutchman to the media. 'We head into Hungary this week, and it is my 200th race with the team. So, it is great to take time to look back at all the successes we have achieved as a team and look ahead to the future as well." Speculation surrounding Verstappen's future had intensified in recent months. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff openly expressed interest in signing the four-time world champion for 2025, should an opportunity present itself. Although Verstappen's current contract with Red Bull runs until 2028, it includes clauses that could have allowed him to leave early under specific circumstances. ESPN reported that Verstappen would have been free to exit the team if he ranked fourth or lower in the championship standings following the Hungarian Grand Prix, which preceded Formula 1's August summer break. However, after the race weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, Verstappen extended his lead beyond the reach of fourth-placed George Russell. His victory in Saturday's sprint race gave him a 26-point buffer over Russell, a gap he widened by an additional two points during Sunday's grand prix. It is understood that Verstappen's exit clauses can also come into play again next summer. When asked if he was expecting a similar level of media scrutiny in 12 months' time, he replied: 'I don't know. I mean, if you ask me that question next year, then yes, and we'll have that speculation. 'But I never speak about it, because I'm more interested in just working on the performance of things, so that's why I also never really talk about what is in my contract." view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
