Firefighters extricate person from vehicle after 3-vehicle crash on Carling Ave.
An Ottawa Fire Services investigation vehicle at the scene of a fire. (CTV News Ottawa) Firefighters extricated a person who was trapped inside their vehicle after a crash in Ottawa's west end Sunday afternoon. A news release from Ottawa Fire Services says crews received a call from police reporting a crash in the 3000 block of Carling Avenue at approximately 4:44 p.m. On arrival, fire crews found three cars were involved with one person requiring extrication. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and used specialized tools to safety remove the trapped occupant in approximately five minutes. The occupant's injuries remain unclear. Ottawa police have closed Carling Avenue between Moodie Drive and Ullswater Drive as an investigation continues. The public is asked to avoid the area.

Two charged in connection to Parry Sound vehicle theft spree

At about 7 a.m. on July 27, officers responded to reports of multiple thefts in the Waubeek Street area. 'Ten vehicles were targeted by thieves earlier in the night,' police said in a news release. Investigators later located the suspects as they allegedly used stolen credit cards at various locations in Parry Sound. Charges laid against accused pair A 33-year-old man from London and a 33-year-old woman from Georgian Bay Township face multiple charges, including: seven counts of trespassing, three counts each of theft, theft of a credit card, and illegal use of a credit card, identity theft, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and nine counts of mischief. The man was additionally charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order. The woman faces an extra charge of failing to comply with a release order. Both accused were held for bail pending a court appearance Friday. Dog dead after reports of a fight downtown Kitchener early Saturday
Social Sharing Police are investigating a disturbance that resulted in the death of a dog in downtown Kitchener on Saturday. Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) were called just before 5 a.m. for reports of an altercation at a bus stop near Charles Street South and Cedar Street East, WRPS said in a release Sunday. Police say that when officers arrived they found several people and an injured dog in the area. Initial reports describe an altercation between several people where a dog attacked anther dog, police say. Officers were then called to a second location at King Street East and Eby Street North, near the Kitchener Market, where police say they found a dead dog. The WRPS' General investigations unit is investigating. Police ask anyone with information to call WRPS' non-emergency line or to leave an anonymous tip with Waterloo Region Crime Stoppers.
