The revamped road will serve half a million daily users, adding tunnels, bridges and public spaces, while cutting commute times by more than 50% in one of the city's busiest zones.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has awarded a AED 633 million (USD 172 million) contract to upgrade Al Mustaqbal Street, a vital corridor linking Zabeel Palace Street and Financial Centre Street, as part of its wider Trade Centre Roundabout masterplan.
The project includes three new tunnels designed to handle up to 9,000 vehicles per hour, a 450 m two-lane bridge connecting the World Trade Centre area, and the widening of Al Mustaqbal Street from three to four lanes each way over 3.5 km.
Once completed, the renovations will increase traffic capacity from 6,600 to 8,800 vehicles per hour and reduce average travel times from about 13 minutes to six minutes. It also introduces pedestrian-friendly improvements, such as upgraded walkways, dedicated cycling lanes, enhanced lighting, and expanded public spaces.
The scheme is part of the broader effort to improve access around the Dubai World Trade Centre, Downtown Dubai, Zabeel, and Business Bay - regions that host hundreds of thousands of commuters and visitors. Around 500,000 people are expected to benefit directly from smoother, faster routes and safer multimodal transport options.
Dubai continues to invest heavily in transport infrastructure, with nearly half of its AED 86.3 billion 2025 budget earmarked for roads, bridges, and transit systems, part of a broader infrastructure push totalling AED 272 billion from 2025 to 2027. This comes as the emirate's population nears 4 million, with plans to reach 5.8 million by 2040.

Al Ansari Exchange Addresses Indian Rupee Drop to Near Record Lows and Its Implications for UAE Remittance Market

Al Ansari Exchange, a leading remittance and foreign currency exchange service provider in the UAE, has highlighted the recent sharp decline of the Indian rupee against the UAE dirham, which is pegged to the U.S. dollar. The rupee has approached record lows, trading around ₹23.91 per AED, with intra-week fluctuations between ₹23.63 and ₹23.95. This marks one of the weakest levels in recent years and has drawn significant attention from expatriate communities and businesses with exposure to India. The drop in the Indian rupee has been driven by several factors, including heightened trade tensions between the United States and India, particularly the threat of new tariffs on Indian exports of up to 25 percent. These developments have unsettled investors and triggered capital outflows from Indian markets. July 2025 witnessed the rupee's lowest monthly performance since 2022, with foreign equity sell-offs exceeding USD 2 billion. Additionally, the Reserve Bank of India has taken a more cautious stance on currency intervention, allowing the rupee to adjust more freely to external factors. Global geopolitical concerns and rising oil prices have further weighed on India's import bill, exacerbating the currency's decline. For consumers in the UAE, this development is already influencing remittance and currency exchange patterns. Al Ansari Exchange has observed a surge in remittance activity, as Indian expatriates take advantage of the more favourable rates to send additional funds back home. The stronger conversion value is allowing customers to remit significantly higher amounts in rupees for the same dirham outlay, providing tangible benefits to families and dependents in India. At the same time, businesses and individuals engaged in trade with India are reviewing their hedging strategies and timing of transactions in light of the increased volatility. In response to the surge in remittance demand, Al Ansari Exchange has ensured sufficient liquidity across its nationwide branch network and digital channels, while continuing to provide competitive rates and transparent pricing. The company has also launched targeted initiatives to attract customers during this period, including special promotional offers, rate alerts via its mobile application, and expanded staffing at high-demand branches to ensure smooth and efficient service. Commenting on the situation, Rashed A. Al Ansari, CEO of Al Ansari Exchange said: 'The current exchange rate presents a unique opportunity for Indian expatriates in the UAE to maximise the value of their remittances. While the outlook for the rupee remains influenced by global and domestic factors, we are fully prepared to meet the increased demand and provide our customers with the best possible value and service during this period of heightened currency volatility.' Al Ansari Exchange reaffirmed its commitment to supporting customers with reliable and efficient remittance solutions, even as currency markets remain uncertain. The company continues to monitor global economic developments closely and remains focused on delivering safe, transparent, and customer-centric services.

UAE & Google to Launch Cyber Security Centre of Excellence

The centre is expected to generate more than 20,000 jobs and attract USD 1.4 billion in foreign direct investment by 2030. Apr 11, 2025 The United Arab Emirates has announced the establishment of a Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, developed in collaboration with Google. The centre is projected to generate more than 20,000 jobs and attract approximately USD 1.4 billion in foreign direct investment by 2030. It also aims to reduce cybercrime-related losses by an estimated USD 6.8 billion over the same period. This initiative coincides with the launch of Google's Cyber Security Academy in Abu Dhabi and is related to a broader national strategy to advance the UAE's digital infrastructure and strengthen its cyber resilience. The centre is designed to serve as both a hub for innovation in cybersecurity and a training platform for the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. The initiative aligns with the UAE's long-term vision to establish a secure, forward-looking digital ecosystem capable of keeping pace with global technological developments. Cybersecurity has become a growing concern globally. According to the World Economic Forum's 2023 Global Risks Report, cybercrime and digital insecurity rank among the top ten global risks in both the short and long term. Despite rising threats, the sector continues to face a significant talent gap, with an estimated shortage of 3.3 million cybersecurity professionals worldwide.

The tower's all-glass façade bathes the interiors in natural light, offering a vibrant and inspiring work environment. At ground level, a five-star, double-height grand lobby welcomes tenants and visitors with understated elegance and a modern sense of arrival. Four high-speed OTIS elevators, each with an 18-person capacity, ensure effortless vertical transit across the tower. Further cementing its strategic stature, the tower will proudly host the global headquarters of Tomorrow World Group. This launch marks a bold new milestone for Tomorrow World Properties. Established in 2022, the company may be a relatively new entrant to the real estate scene, but it is firmly rooted in the legacy of Tomorrow World Group, Dubai's largest Chinese-owned trading house. Since 2002, the group has grown from its beginnings in Deira's re-export trade to become a diversified conglomerate with AED 1 billion in active asset deployment and a development pipeline projected to exceed AED 8 billion. Tomorrow Commercial Tower reflects the group's evolution: a move from trading excellence to real estate leadership, built on the same principles of resilience, foresight, and opportunity-seizing. Against the backdrop of a thriving commercial real estate market, where Dubai continues to attract global investors with its business-friendly environment, high rental yields, and ease of company setup, Tomorrow Commercial Tower delivers both immediate utility and long-term potential. With demand for premium commercial space surging, especially in Dubai's eastern corridor, the tower emerges as a timely solution for entrepreneurs, SMEs, and multinational firms seeking future-proof headquarters. More than just a place to do business, Tomorrow Commercial Tower embodies the spirit of the group's name: a space built today, with tomorrow in mind. It offers tenants an ecosystem where form meets function, where design supports ambition, and where every square meter reflects an understanding of how work, productivity, and innovation will evolve in the years ahead.
