Addison Rae, KATSEYE and Nikki Glaser Among Recording Academy's 2025 New Member Invitees
The Recording Academy extended its annual membership invitation Wednesday morning to nearly 3,600 music industry professionals from several disciplines. 'For today's music creators, Grammy membership opens up an incredible set of opportunities,' Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement.

'Not only do voting members get the chance to honor their peers with Grammy nominations and awards, Academy members get access to hands-on experience, skill development to advance their careers, exposure to peers and mentors in the music industry and be part of an organization shaping the future of music,' he added. New members will get the chance participate in several initiatives including driving 'meaningful DEI progress and impact' through the organization's Dream Initiative, according to a release.
The Recording Academy has stressed its commitment to diversifying its voting body over the past several years following previous criticism of lack of diversity, with former Grammys CEO Neil Portnow in particular drawing controversy to the organization back in 2018 when he said women had to 'step up' for representation at the awards. According to the Academy's 2024 Membership report, the organization has increased its number of women voting members by 27 percent since 2019.
The 2025 class is 49 percent women and 56 percent people of color, the Academy said. Of all the invitees, 60 percent are under the age of 40. Those that are invited must formally accept to become full Recording Academy members and to be eligible to vote for next year's Grammy Awards.
In addition to Addison Rae, KATSEYE and Nikki Glaser, Grupo Firme, Joey Bada$$ and Mariah The Scientist were among those invited to join.
'It is a huge honor to join the Recording Academy/Grammys 2025 new member class,' Rae, who just released her first studio album Addison last month, said in statement. 'I am so lucky to be surrounded by talent and poise that inspires me to create fearlessly and help encourage others to do so as well.'
KATSEYE, who just earned their first Billboard 200 top 10 entry with Beautiful Chaos, also expressed what an honor it was to be included. 'It's exciting to stand alongside such inspiring artists and be part of a community that truly champions music, artistry and diversity,' the group said in a statement.
'I screamed when I found out,' Glaser said in statement about being to the new member class. The stand-up comedian went viral at this year's Grammy Awards when she took a small part in Benson Boone's performance.
'This is the greatest thing the Grammys have given me since the half of Benson Boone's tuxedo I kept after last year's show,' she jokingly continued. 'This is a role I'm going to take very seriously and as a comedian, it'll be nice to finally have one thing I do in earnest.'

The studio previously teased that 'something brand new is coming,' sharing a first glimpse at the superhero uniform on Friday, marking the 63rd anniversary of the character's first comic book appearance. In October, Sony added the follow-up to Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) to its summer 2026 schedule, later revealing the title in March at CinemaCon. 'I'm obviously over the moon and so excited,' Holland previously said. 'Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal. And I think we were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID; we shot the entire film on stages.' Holland continued, 'Now, we're really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations, which is why we're starting in Glasgow and we're gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece that we're putting together. So it's gonna feel like making [2017's] Spider-Man 1 again. It's been such a long time since I've done it, it's gonna feel like a breath of fresh air, and I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we're putting together.' Zendaya will reprise her role as MJ, with production expected to commence after she and Holland both have completed filming Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Trailer For REALM OF SATAN a Very Borning Documentary About Modern Satanism — GeekTyrant
Monument Releasing has released the trailer for Realm of Satan , Scott Cummings' documentary that dives deep into the world of Satanism, and it's not what you'd expect. The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year and I watched it, but it was a very borning and completely uninteresting film. There's definitly nothing exciting about modern satanism. Not like the wild tales we;'ve heard from the 70s and 80s! The documentary takes viewers inside the controversial Realm of Satan church, offering a close look at Satanists' daily lives as well as their rituals and beliefs. According to the official description, the film 'captures Satanists in both the everyday and the extraordinary, revealing their mystical world of magic, mystery, and misanthropy.' Cummings approaches the subject with an artistic len: 'Cummings crafts each frame like a painting to allow the wild, elegant, and dynamic world of Satanists to unfold on screen.' The project features figures like Peter Gilmore, Blanche Barton, and Peggy Nadramia, key names associated with the Church of Satan. It's produced by Pacho Velez ( Searchers, The American Sector ), Caitlin Mae Burke ( We Could Be King ), and Molly Gandour ( GasLand ). Cummings expressed excitement about the theatrical rollout: 'I'm thrilled to be working with Monument on the theatrical release of Realm of Satan. The movie theater is a magical space, and this film demands that singular experience. 'Monument has stood behind and celebrated the uniqueness of this film and I am thrilled to bring audiences into our spell together. I have been a Mubi subscriber and cheerleader since their earliest day and found some of my favorite modern films through their impeccable curatorial vision. I couldn't think of a better and more exciting partner to work with.' The movie will make its U.S. theatrical debut on July 17th in Philadelphia, followed by runs at New York's Nitehawk (Prospect Park) and Metrograph. After its limited release, it hits digital platforms on September 2 and later lands exclusively on MUBI starting October 3 for U.S. and Canadian subscribers.
