Young Liverpool full-back Conor Bradley has taken to Instagram to share his own personal tribute to Diogo Jota, in which he thanked the Portuguese for the support he had provided during their time spent together.
Among other touching memories, the Northern Irishman revealed how he learned the hard way to avoid playing Jota at FIFA after suffering one particularly heavy drubbing on the video game.
'Where do I start what an incredible footballer but an even better person I feel really lucky to have spent a few years with you,' Bradley wrote.
'Was always nice coming into the changing room in the morning and seeing you smiling and laughing and consistently calling me a hanger.

'When I first moved up from the academy you were always there for me and always helped me settle in with the lads which I'll be forever grateful for.
'My thoughts are with your wife, children and family for losing both Diogo and Andre. I can't imagine how tough this is for you all, as I know how tough this feels for me today.

Ahead of Portugal's Women's Euro 2025 clash with Spain, supporters have been pictured paying tribute to the late Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva in the stands.
The devastating news has overshadowed the build-up to tonight's Group B contest at Bern's Wankdorf Stadium, where Portugal get their campaign up and running.
Jota was capped 49 times by the Portuguese national team and helped his country win two Nations League titles. July 3, 2025 7:21 pm Liverpool to honour Jota with 'meaningful tributes'
Liverpool directors Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes have confirmed that the club will look to honour Diogo Jota with 'meaningful tributes' following the 'irreplaceable' forward's tragic passing.
A club statement read: 'In such heartbreaking circumstances, it is our responsibility to acknowledge the collective grief we are experiencing, to pay tribute to our Diogo, and to offer unwavering support to his family who remain our absolute priority at this time.
'Diogo's wife, Rute, their three beautiful children, his parents and wider family are facing an unimaginable loss. This tragic accident has taken not only Diogo, but also his brother, Andre Silva. We mourn them both equally. We must respect the family's privacy and give them the space to grieve in whichever way they need.
'Of course, we – his Liverpool family – are also struggling to come to terms with what has happened. As his team-mates, friends and colleagues, we are consumed by shock and sorrow. We know our supporters, his national team, former clubs and teammates and the wider football community share in this grief. This is a tragedy that transcends Liverpool Football Club.
'In the coming days, we as a club will look to honour our beloved number 20 with the respect and affection he so richly deserves. We will strive to make these tributes meaningful and inclusive of our supporters, to whom Diogo meant so much.
'For now, we express a love that is filled with deep sorrow and pain. We have lost someone truly irreplaceable.' July 3, 2025 7:04 pm Jota an 'unbelievable player' and a 'brother', says Jones
'It's hard to find the exact words how this feels,' Liverpool and England midfielder Curtis Jones wrote on his social media pages.
'An unbelievable player & a great person to everyone. Grateful we shared so many memories on and off the pitch brother.
'I send my thoughts and prayers to the whole family. Rest peacefully Diogo and André.' https://www.instagram.com/p/DLp0kbtN343/ July 3, 2025 6:42 pm Slot reveals tragic details of last conversation with Jota
In a heart-wrenching statement, Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has revealed that he wished Diogo Jota all the best on his wedding in their final-ever conversation together.
'What to say? What can anyone say at a time like this when the shock and the pain is so incredibly raw? I wish I had the words but I know I do not,' Slot told Liverpool's official website.
'All I have are feelings that I know so many people will share about a person and a player we loved dearly and a family we care so much about.
'My first thoughts are not those of a football manager. They are of a father, a son, a brother and an uncle and they belong to the family of Diogo and Andre Silva who have experienced such an unimaginable loss.
'My message to them is very clear – you will never walk alone. The players, the staff, the supporters of Liverpool Football Club are all with you and from what I have seen today, the same can be said of the wider family of football.'
The Dutchman continued: 'This is not solely a response to tragedy. It is also a reaction to the goodness of the people involved and the respect that so many have for the boys as individuals and for the family as a whole.
'For us as a club, the sense of shock is absolute. Diogo was not just our player. He was a loved one to all of us. He was a teammate, a colleague, a workmate and in all of those roles he was very special.
'I could say so much about what he brought to our team but the truth is everyone who watched Diogo play could see it. Hard work, desire, commitment, great quality, goals. The essence of what a Liverpool player should be.
'There were also the parts that not everyone got to see. The person who never sought popularity but found it anyway. Not a friend to two people, a friend to everyone. Someone who made others feel good about themselves just by being with them. A person who cared deeply for his family.
'The last time we spoke, I congratulated Diogo on winning the Nations League and wished him luck for his forthcoming wedding. In many ways, it was a dream summer for Diogo and his family, which makes it all the more heartbreaking that it should end like this.'
Slot says Jota leaves behind an incredible legacy and his name will 'never be forgotten' on Merseyside.
'When I first came to the club, one of the first songs I got to know was the one that our fans sing for Diogo. I had not worked with him previously but I knew straight away that if the Liverpool supporters, who have seen so many great players over the years, had such a unique chant for Diogo, he must have special qualities,' he went on.
'That we have lost those qualities in such terrible circumstances is something we have not yet come to terms with. For this reason, we need everyone at the club to stand together and to be there for one another. We owe this to Diogo, to Andre Silva, to their wider family and to ourselves.
'My condolences go to Diogo's wife, Rute, their three beautiful children and to the parents of Diogo and Andre Silva.
'When the time is right, we will celebrate Diogo Jota, we will remember his goals and we will sing his song. For the time being, we will remember him as a unique human being and mourn his loss. He will never be forgotten. His name is Diogo.' July 3, 2025 6:27 pm Liverpool fans sing YNWA outside Anfield

Touching moment ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson lays flowers for Diogo Jota – as family gathers for star's funeral
FORMER Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was seen weeping as he laid flowers and paid his respects to Diogo Jota. Touching pictures shared by the Liverpool Football Club show an emotional Henderson mourning the loss of his former teammate outside the Anfield Stadium. 5 5 5 5 The ex-Liverpool skipper is one of the many footie stars to have mourned the loss of the Jota, who tragically lost his life in a horror crash yesterday. Henderson and Jota played together at Liverpool between September 2020 and June 2023. Meanwhile, Jota's grieving wife was consoled by relatives amid emotional scenes at his funeral chapel today. Rute Cardoso - who married the Liverpool ace just 11 days earlier - arrived at Sao Cosme Chapel in his home town of Gondomar near Porto, northern Portugal, early this morning. Rute, the 28-year-old mum of the striker's three young children, returned with her partner's body after his car smash death in Spain alongside his footballer brother Andre Silva, 25. Gondomar townsfolk gathered yesterday, sporting football shirts and carrying floral tributes as a shrine grew at a nearby sports club. Kop idol Jota, 28, died instantly when his hired acid green £210,000 Lamborghini supercar suffered a suspected tyre blowout and crashed in a fireball on the A52 highway in Zamora province, northern Spain. The brothers were killed instantly in the horror en route to the Spanish port city of Santander to catch a ferry to the UK after the Portugal star was urged not to travel by plane following lung surgery. Their distraught mother Isabel and their grandfather were also spotted at the chapel this morning. Tearful family members were seen hugging each other before walking together towards the chapel. What we know so far: The wake proper is set to start around 4pm, with Portugal's president Marcelo de Sousa among those arriving to pay respects. Crowds began gathering on Thursday night near the chapel - the Capela da Ressurreicao on the outskirts of Porto - and applauded as the brothers' coffins arrived at 11.30pm. A funeral ceremony will take place next door at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar at 10am on Saturday. It is unclear whether tomorrow's proceedings will be open to the public. The sad homecoming came less than 24 hours after the deaths - in keeping with Portuguese tradition to hold wakes and funerals promptly. Tributes have been flooding in Cristiano Ronaldo, former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and current Reds boss Arne Slot.
