Leaked Pixel Buds 2a details just surfaced, and here's what's coming your way on August 20

Google's big Pixel launch event is now fast approaching, scheduled for August 20, less than a week away. However, that doesn't mean the leaks have stopped - quite the opposite, actually.
We recently saw high-quality renders of the Pixel 10 lineup in all the available colors, and now, more details are leaking about the Pixel Buds 2a, which are also expected to be showcased during the event. The budget-friendly Buds 2a (rumor has it they will cost around €150) have taken a page from the Pixel Buds Pro 2 look, and this, according to this new leak, also means smaller wingtips in comparison to the original Pixel Buds from the A-series.
The case for them looks just like the one that the Buds Pro 2 sport, and may only be available in white, just like usual. The buds themselves are said to come in at least two colors, gray and Iris. Rumor has it that there may be two other colors, Fog Light and Hazel, but so far, those haven't leaked. And also, we have the Moonstone color variant that also leaked recently.
Reportedly, the seal where the case opens may be colored to match the buds as well, but that little design element may be harder to spot at a distance.
Of course, as these earbuds are a more budget-friendly version, you can see where Google cut some corners to cut the cost. For one, Google's logo is just printed, instead of embossed in the plastic casing. There are also some differences in the design, for example, the external mics have a new grille, and the proximity sensors have been moved from the Pro variant. The Buds 2a are also said not to come with the adaptive Silent Seal feature or head tracking for spatial audio. They are also said to have lower battery life and not support wireless charging. Despite all of that, the Buds 2a are said to still add ANC and Spatial Audio, which are both features that the original affordable earbuds by Google didn't support. Apparently, these two features may be a tad more basic when compared to the Pro model, of course.
The Pixel Buds 2a are expected to come with the new Pixel 10 lineup on August 20. At the event, Google is also expected to unveil the new Pixel Watch 4. I personally think the Pixel Buds 2a sound like a great option for anyone wanting good features without spending too much. It's nice that they still include ANC and Spatial Audio, even if they're a bit simpler than the Pro version. If they're comfortable and have decent battery life, they could be perfect for everyday use. Can't wait to see them officially at the event!

Google teaser shows that owning the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be doubly joyful

Google continues its streak of teasing its upcoming Pixel 10 phones in a bid to outsmart leakers. The company today posted a video of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and instead of beating around the bush, it gives a simple reason why the phone will deliver more than most other top smartphones. Nearly every Android manufacturer has been selling foldable phones for a while now. Apple is the only notable holdout. For some reason, Android companies love to throw shade on Apple, either directly or indirectly. In the latest Pixel 10 Pro Fold teaser, not only does the Mountain View giant give us a good look at its third bendable phone, but it also tells us why it will bring you more joy than a conventional phone. The company talks about how the feeling of opening a brand new phone is unrivalled and that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a step ahead because you will get to "open" it twice. Depending on your sense of humor, the joke may or may not land, but that, of course, isn't the point. I for one found it cringe-inducing at first, but it's growing on me in case you are wondering why Google is marketing such a straightforward fact, well, that might be because the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will largely look the same as the outgoing Pixel 9 Pro Fold, so there isn't much to flex about ( please tell me I am funnier than Google ). It will still be a worthwhile upgrade, though. For starters, the outward appearance will change a bit, with the cover screen growing marginally from 6.3 inches to 6.4 inches. Google will reportedly achieve this by trimming the bezel and reducing the gap between the outer display and the hinge. What really will set the Pixel 10 Pro Fold apart is that it might be the first dust-proof foldable phone on the market. The device may also have a slightly larger battery. Under the hood will be the Tensor G5 chipset, which will be paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Google's new phones will be announced on August 20, but the Pixel 10 Pro Fold 's release has apparently been delayed, with a recent report saying it won't begin shipping until October. Samsung is back to owning the foldable game after the Fold 7, which is why Google will have to try a little harder with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold to stay competitive.

Visible launches Inner Circle for flexible group savings without the family plan rules

Visible, Verizon's digital-first wireless brand, is officially launching a new way for people to share savings without the restrictions of traditional family plans. Starting August 21, the new program, called Visible Inner Circle, will let customers link their wireless accounts with up to six others while keeping full control over their own lines, payments, and plan choices. The launch follows a short trial announced last week, where a small number of customers were invited to test Inner Circle. As we reported at the time, it was the carrier's closest alternative to a family plan, and early feedback showed strong interest from people who wanted group savings without the shared billing. Unlike traditional family plans that require one primary account holder and a single bill, Inner Circle allows each member to pay separately and adjust their plan without affecting others. This makes it easier for groups like college roommates, friends, or extended families to save together without the usual coordination issues. David Kim, Chief Revenue Officer at Verizon Value, said the program reflects the reality that "meaningful connections come in all forms" and that wireless service should adapt to customers' lives. It also recognizes that not every household has a single bill payer or fits a standard family plan setup. Key features of Inner Circle include: Savings: Up to 7 people can join for $25/month on the Visible plan with unlimited 5G data. Premium plan users (Visible+ or Visible+ Pro) can save $5/month with at least two members in the group. Independent accounts: No primary account holder. Everyone manages their own service and payments. Flexible membership: Groups can be made up of anyone. Members can leave or join anytime without disrupting others' service. Privacy safeguards: Personal details stay private, with members choosing what to share. Premium coverage: All plans use Verizon 's nationwide network, with premium options including 5G Ultra Wideband access. Visible launches 'Inner Circle.' | Image credit — Visible/Verizon Compared to group plans from T-Mobile or AT&T, Inner Circle offers similar shared savings but without tying everyone to one bill. That could make it appealing for people who value independence, though it may not match the absolute lowest rates offered by some traditional family plans for large households. As a Visible customer, I can already see how this plan will benefit me by adding the accounts of my "adult children" and saving some money in the process. If the idea of this plan works as planned, it could challenge the idea that shared wireless savings require one person to manage everything — a change that could benefit anyone looking for both savings and control.

Epic Games defeats Apple and Google in Australian court, Fortnite returns to iOS in another market

Michail, 12 August 2025 Fortnite is one step closer to making its comeback in Australia as Epic Games secured its latest court wins in two separate cases against Apple and Google. The Federal Court of Australia concluded that both Apple and Google violated the local competition law by abusing their market power in how they operate their app stores. The 30% in-app commission fees charged by both Apple and Google were signaled out as key instances of limiting competition. Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed that Fortnite will make its return to iOS devices in Australia via the Epic Games store soon. While the latest ruling is big for Epic, the court rejected some of the Fortnite maker's claims, including accusations of breached consumer law and engagement in 'unconscionable conduct' by Apple and Google. Apple and Google issued official statements with both companies disagreeing with the court's verdict against their billing policies and claims of anticompetitive advantages. Epic launched its legal fight against Apple in Australia back in November 2020 and later filed similar anti-competition claims against Google in March 2021. Both cases are handled simultaneously by the Federal Court of Australia, and the 2,000+ page verdict won't be released publicly for now. Source
